Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless! Ordered glasses and lenses which took weeks to arrive.
When received the lenses were nothing like the prescription given so were returned.
Over 4 weeks with no communication I had to resolve to paypal to get a refund.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! !

Sunglasses are seconds or fakes but NOT first quality

Glasses arrived. They are seconds, I bought Burberry sunglasses, whilst they have burberry on the lens, they do not have the signature check on the arms and as shown in the photographs on Alensa’s own website. I am expected to pay for the return of good which are not as shown and are ultimately seconds.
I am still waiting for my refund - many excuses, had to get my credit card company to assist!
A whole week since my return was delivered and. o communication from Alensa. Please note if you go to google maps to see the rerun address, it is simply a semi detached house. Further evidence that this is a scam shop

sent wrong size frames

sent wrong size frames, after i had ordered the correct size, said it was a stock issue, but still took payment and sent them, i had to pay £6.49 to return for a refund, but refused to refund return postage cost, even though it was their mistake!

As stated on our website, InPost deliveries typically take 2–4 working days after dispatch (the stated timeframe on the website also takes into account that parcels travel from outside the UK before reaching their destination). Your parcel was delivered on 20/08, which was the 3rd working day after dispatch and therefore within the expected timeframe.

Although we understand it may have felt slower than expected, please note that your order was delivered within the timeframe outlined at checkout.

Not a reassuring customer experience

I called them after making a contact lense order. I had selected + instead of - on my prescription by mistake. The adviser advised of the amendment being sent to his stores. 15 minutes later I receive an email confirming dispatch of the wrongly made order. I called the alensa adviser again who quoted that the order was still with them and that he will have this amended but was not very sure of this.

Update 2/9/25

I have received an email from Alensa advising of not being able to amend my order. This is not recorded with royalmail as on route yet and obviously sitting in the Alensa stores. Won't go the extra mile for a customer then I will not be using their service again.

On checking the Royalmail tracking information only 1 hour ago on 3/9/25. This showing advised of and expecting parcel today! Again this backs the lack of finding and amending the order in your stores. The 24 hour parcel is advised to being expected on 5/9/25! More lip service! For the sakes of a £10 pack of contact lenses! Embarrassing for such a large company that fails it's customer through bone idle responses!

This order appears to have been placed in the evening of 01/09, and the issue was reported to us the following day around noon. At that point, the order had already been scheduled for departure. Our colleague did request for the parcel to be stopped from being sent, but unfortunately it was too late for that to be done and the parcel was already en route to the couriers and no longer in our possession.

Please also note that our parcels travel from abroad, and Royal Mail only receives the shipments 1–2 working days after dispatch. This is why the tracking link may not immediately display updates, even though the item has already left our warehouse.

We understand your frustration and regret that we could not accommodate the amendment in this case. We will use your feedback to further improve our service and communication.

Poor quality and refusal of return and refund of dolce and gabbana glasses

Ordered a pair or dolce and gabbana eye glasses last year. Cost me around £110+. I then fitted the highest quality lenses from another optician, bringing my total cost to £300+.

After 1 year, the frame has eroded away, and the silver titanium colour has turned silver due to the peeling - all across the glasses. I sent pictures to Alensa explaining the issue and showing them the frames in-depth. I've been going back and forth for MONTHS with them, and as a "gesture of good will" they offered a 25% refund which is ridiculous. I explained that these frames look worse than the free vision express frames you get, and nothing I would expect from Dolce Gabbana. The logo on the right side is also slanted and peeling off and I really do question their authenticity.

After they issued a 25% refund, i said i would like the full refund as these are just ridiculous. I've spent a combined total of 300 plus pounds and received some fake, peeling off poor quality frames from a supposed reputable company. Alensa offered a 100% refund if I return the glasses and I said fine, as long as you return them back to me as I have my own lenses in them. Low and behold, the scammy company refused and said we'll keep them and you get a refund. What are you going to do with highly personalised lenses and the damaged frame? Why should I need to return these for "inspection" when the pictures show the truth.

All in all, a terrible poor experience. I wouldn't buy a sock from them let alone a designer pair of glasses. I've also cancelled my and family members contact lenses purchases. The customer service is dirt poor - DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS. Go to your high street or another reputable dealer, not these European companies with a warehouse in the UK.

To clarify our policy: when a customer requests a full refund for a frame, we do require the frame itself to be returned to us. This is a necessary standard practice so that we can send the item for inspection, report the issue to the manufacturer, and ensure that similar cases are addressed in the future.

Please note that you do not need to return your prescription lenses - you can have them removed prior to sending the frame back. Alternatively, if you are unable to do so, and you send the complete glasses back, Alensa can offer to send the lenses back to yourself once the package arrives with us.

We regret if this was not clear in our earlier communication. The partial refund was offered only as an alternative in case you wished to keep the frame despite the defect.

Our goal is always to resolve situations like this fairly and transparently, and we are happy to process a full refund for the frame once it is returned. If you have any questions, regarding the return process, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Reviews didn't reflect my experience.

I was looking for trials multifocal and this company offered the possibility to get a pack of just 5 so went for their, I assume, house brand TopVue.

I wasn't expecting much since they're cheap but based on my limited usage they would have been perfect if they worked.

My prescription glasses add is +2:00, on my glasses I requested +2:25 since I wasn't happy with a lower one and I ordered these lenses with an add of +2:50.

Just tried them on and the add is not real. I need to put on glasses of +1:00 to read my mobile which defeat the purpose of wearing multifocals.

I wanted to leave a review on their website just to worn people that perhaps these type of lenses are not great for a high add but didn't find the option to do that, despite seeing a total of 35 reviews for this particular product with a total rating of 100%.

Hence my decision to leave a comment on here instead.

Other than that they have a good variety of lenses and cheap delivery options so it would have been grand if the lenses worked.

Unhappy customer

Paid an additional £11.90 for UPS express 1-2 business delivery instead of the free option. Received an email today informing of a delivery date 1 week after purchasing. Alensa aren’t willing to refund the monies used for this express delivery that never happened and were generally very unhelpful. Very unhappy

For sunglasses and glasses frames, dispatch can sometimes takes place within 1–3 working days after the order has been made as the item might need to undergo internal transfer first. The exact date of dispatch is as stated on the product page and in the basket. The express delivery option (UPS Express - 1–2 business days) applies from the day of dispatch, not the day of purchase. In your case, your order was dispatched on 25/08 and, according to the couriers, successfully delivered on 27/08, which is the second working day after dispatch, which falls within the express delivery timeframe.

We completely understand that this may not have been as clear as you expected when placing your order, and we are sorry for any confusion or frustration caused. As a gesture of goodwill, our offices have agreed to refund your postage cost. A refund for it has been issued as of this morning.
