The outcome from my surgery is fantastic - I wake up and I can see everything clearly - and I am really glad I took the plunge and had my lenses replaced. Mr Day, his assistant Aurelia and Moorfields hospital were very efficient, professional and reassuring throughout. Would definitely recommend.

Mr Day has been a great surgeon for my cataract surgery on both eyes. He is dedicated reassuring and compassionate. His staff are remarkable ! They take care of your concerns and worries. I’m so happy that Mr Day continues to study research and expand his practice . One of the “greats.”

I am elderly and for over two years I had difficulty in seeing which made it very dangerous when crossing roads and impossible to use a computer. It was a nightmare. As the nhs waiting list for such treatment was impossibly long I decided to spend some money left to me by my late civil partner and go private.
It was the best thing I have done in years. I was treated professionally and kindly all the way and Mr Day was very pleasant and totally professional. I could hardly believe the result as I walked out able to see again.

I had a TransPRK treatment with Mr Day three months ago and I am very glad about the result. I do not need to wear glasses or contact lenses which has made my days much more productive!
The operation was quick and straightforward. In my case, I experienced a slightly longer recovery time which caused quite a lot of stress. Later I realised that every eye is different and each person has a different circumstance. Mr Day and his team were responsive and attentive throughout the process and helpfully guided me through recovery. I had a great experience with Mr Alex Day and his team at Moorfields and getting laser eye surgery with them has been one of the best decisions I've made.

Communication wise the team is responsive, and both Alex and Aurelia were happy to answer my many questions throughout the process. The surgery itself wasn't as scary as I'd expected and went by very quickly. The detailed post surgery treatment plan and followup appointment to remove the bandage contacts ensured the recovery process was smooth.

All in all I had a great and life changing experience going from around -5 in both eyes to better than 20/20 vision with no dryness or issues seeing at night etc and I'd highly recommend Alex for anyone considering TransPRK.

I had always wanted to have the opportunity to reduce the need for contact lenses and glasses. I saw Mr Alex Day at Moorfields and discussed, firstly Refractive lens surgery but also asked about other possibilities considering my age(56) Mr Day explained what was available to me, I was given the relevant paperwork for RLE and Surface Excimer Laser (TransPRK/PRK.) with consent forms attached before I left and asked to return for an eye exam to see what would be required for the laser surgery to be carried out successfully. I underwent Lasik surgery on 12th June 2022. Pessimistic to start with as eyes are important but, on the day of surgery I was looked after by Mr Day and his surgical team brilliantly. I was talked through every stage of the procedure and felt so comfortable and reassured. Prior to the procedure I was given my medications to get me through the first few weeks of recovery ( eye drops). After care was exceptional with 24 hour contact with either Mr Day or Moorfields hospital in case of an emergency. Day after surgery check up by Mr Day followed by two further checks at 1 month and 3 months. ( These are carried out by Mr Day and his team.) I was discharged on 08/09/22 with 20/20 vision. Even though I have been discharged I can still contact himself or his secretary if there are any further issues.
I would recommend Mr Alex Day to anyone thinking about laser vision surgery. He is very knowledgeable in his field. Very professional. Mr Day explains things to you so you understand the pros and cons of different procedures ( Paperwork given ), and allows you to make decisions without pressure. He has a great team behind him.

Mr Day and his entire team were great. Had TransPRK and the initial consultation/surgery on the day and after care etc was all good, makes getting eyes done bit less daunting.

I was normally assigned for a different doctor for the first appointment but I have to say I'm glad that the other doctor had to cancel. Dr. Day has been informative, professional yet friendly, approachable and reassuring in every step of the Lasik Excimer surgery. The results showed the excellent work he has done. We hopefully will be going back to him for my husband's surgery as well. I would definitely recommend him.

I felt extremely confident when I first met Mr Day. He explains everything very clearly and gives the patient the opportunity to ask questions. I felt assured that he would perform the procedure I needed with skill and make it comfortable for me, the patient.

Pre and post-op care are excellent with their first class opticians you could not find at any high street shop. No need to wear glasses now, so happy.

I had 2 cataracts removed and good lenses fitted by Mr Day across two separate dates. I can honestly say that the experience was excellent. The team is friendly and efficient, as is Mr Day himself. The procedure was almost stress-free and the results near perfect. Moorfields was very professional and Mr Day himself, apart from his obvious skills is a very engaging, reassuring & empathetic surgeon who listens carefully (rare among surgeons in my experience) who also provides 24/7 access and responsive follow-up to his patient. After a huge amount of consideration I decided to get laser eye surgery in May 2021. I was extremely nervous and apprehensive however Alex Day helped put my mind at ease. He was very thorough and looked at the bigger picture. I have started developing presbyopia and he took this into consideration when carrying out my surgery. He didn’t discharge me until I was fully comfortable with my sight. I received excellent care from him and his staff. I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of having laser eye surgery.
