The only issue preventing me giving 5 stars was the way my parcel was delivered. The shoe box had no additional protection so when received it looked like it had been sat on and the paper sticker seal... See more

At Allbirds, we believe in making better things in a better way. We look to nature for inspiration, crafting footwear and apparel from materials like merino wool, eucalyptus tree fibre and sugarcane. As a certified B Corp, we’re committed to making sure we tread lighter on the planet. Our mission is to reverse climate change through better business, but we know that this global problem can’t be solved by one company alone. We believe that collaborative development and the sharing of technologies will help protect the planet for future generations. We choose to share knowledge and our proprietary materials such as our sugarcane-based EVA foam, which we open-sourced for all to use, including competitors.

A disgraceful customer service experience and dangerously poor product quality
I used to be a fan of Allbirds - until their shoes literally caused me to bleed. After minimal use and careful storage, one short walk in their product left me with blisters so severe they stained the shoes with blood. When I reached out to report this, I was met not with concern or accountability, but with a boilerplate dismissal that tried to handwave the issue away as “natural wear and tear.”
Apparently, Allbirds believes it’s acceptable for their shoes to fall apart after limited use and cause injury, as long as it's been two years since purchase. Never mind that the fault only became apparent recently - which is exactly what the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is designed to address. Their stance was not only legally questionable, it was patronising and borderline insulting.
To add insult to actual injury, their “gesture of goodwill” was a £20 credit - presumably so I could buy another pair and roll the dice on whether I’ll walk away unscathed next time. And yes, they also suggested I donate the bloodstained shoes. Classy.
Allbirds markets itself as ethical and sustainable, but when it comes to actual responsibility for product failures? It’s all smoke and mirrors. If you’re looking for quality, accountability, or even basic decency, look elsewhere.
I’ve given them every opportunity to resolve this appropriately. Since they’ve refused, I’ll be escalating through consumer protection channels - and sharing this story so others can avoid the same experience.
Avoid Allbirds unless you’re prepared to be ignored, injured, and insulted.
Utter rubbish and extortionate pricing…
Utter rubbish and extortionate pricing given the quality is bad and they started coming apart. I've been trying to get new size 9 insoles off there site for 2 years and they are always, I mean always out of stock. Do not give them the money
No trainers, no refund, no service
Four Saturdays ago, I ordered some new trainers online from Allbirds and paid for express delivery. The next day I was asked to travel urgently and at short notice. I immediately contacted Allbirds customer experience and explained the situation and asked for the order to be cancelled as no one would be available to receive the delivery. I received a response in a few hours saying they would sort it. So far so good. I did not receive the trainers, which I do not believe were dispatched nor have I received a refund. In the intervening time I have contacted Allbirds 5 times asking for updates and a refund but have received no response to my enquiries.
I did get an email from Allbirds asking me to rate their customer experience team (naming the individuals in their customer team) which I did (not favourably) and explained why . This week I received an email asking me to rate my experience of the trainers they sent me ( which they did not send) . I did rate them (not favourable and explaining why.) Nothing will elicit a response from this company no matter how many times you contact them even when they ask for your comments. By far the worst online experience I have ever had. I have no idea how to get my money back. Do not buy from them. (UK6609717)

The shoes irritate your toes
The shoes irritate your toes. They feel good at first but the comfort goes away and your toes hurt.

Returns are not accepted
They don't accept returns based on their own arbitrary reasons. I think they have a limit of 2 returns lifetime but they don't disclose this upfront.
The shoes are comfortable initially but fall apart very quickly (bottom sole wears out leaving no traction and upper wool body will look worn out).
Edit: AllBirds responded below this review asking me to email them. I sent them an email as requested but they just sent me back a canned response saying that they don't accept returns.

Done with Allbirds
They have some archaic terms of service that they throw in your face to excuse rejecting a return. Awful customer service! I will never order shoes from them again.

They didn't last that long...
I do like the idea of having shoes made of wool. Yes they actually keep your feet warm in a cold climate, and a bit too warm during summer of course.
Look nice, feel nice.
The sole didn't last 6 months, which is a bit of a bummer considering the price. With "didn't last" I mean that it got completely worn out I had be careful when walking...
Better option out there for durability.
The shoe (all terrain) was done after…
The shoe (all terrain) was done after litterally one hike.
+100 to stability
Sneakers are very comfortable and sensations, as if I had + 100 to stability. They are very comfortable for jumping and I feel myself much higher in them, although the platform is not so high.
Good quality
Good product, comfortable, good quality! I ordered my usual number not more than this. Very good and fast shipping to Italy.
Very pleasant and easy experience
It was easy to oder and I was happy to receive the shows quickly
Three returns is considered a high return rate...
Ordered two pairs of sneakers - same style, different colors - however they don't fit. I attempted to return them and my return request was denied with no explanation. These were not final sale items and well within the 30-day return policy. I reached out to customer service and was told my return would be approved this time however any future orders from my account would be subject to review and/or cancellation. I've been a customer for years now (both in the US and the UK) and this is only the third return I've made in over five years so I guess three returns is considered a high return rate.
Nice shoes that fall apart.
Shoes are comfy and nice but durability is poor. I have brought 3 pairs and 2 have had the sole delaminate after roughly 1 year and the others look tatty as hell as the midsole has decomposed. I contacted allbirds about the most recent sole delamination just over a year after purchase. They've confirmed there's no warranty and after a year that's not their problem. My shoes may contain 40% less carbon but if I go through a new pair every year, I'm better off buying carbon intensive trainers that last me 3 years. Disappointed by the quality and the response.
Always a great purchase
Always a great purchase, just a shame the shoes I bought (which were on sale) then were reduced further 3 days later
Great pair
Great pair of shoes for hiking! Wide shoe box and stiff base and comfortable to walk in
Comfortable, Sustainable, and Great Customer Service
I absolutely love Allbirds! The products are incredibly comfortable and fit my foot perfectly, which is something I truly value when it comes to footwear. I believe that wearing the right shoes is an important element for overall health, and Allbirds certainly delivers on that front. The comfort is unmatched.
What also stands out to me is the brand's commitment to the environment. It's refreshing to support a company that cares about sustainability and uses eco-friendly materials in their products.
I did have an issue with my order not being delivered smoothly due to logistical issues or heavy traffic, but I have to say, my experience with customer service made me even more impressed with this brand. They responded promptly, and the language they used was friendly, respectful, and clear. Their efforts to resolve the situation quickly made me feel truly valued as a customer.
Overall, I’m really happy with my Allbirds experience and will definitely continue to support this amazing brand!
Return fiasco
Since I am between sizes, i bought two pair and sent one back.
Since the shoe is fitting very nicely, I was going to buy another pair in another colour.
Since the shoes cost the same, I wrote the allbirds team, that they can just send me the jet black shoes in 44. Today I got the wrong colour of shoes and have to send the shoes back again...
