I did not receive the purchased product at all. Instead, I was faced with a demand to pay several hundred euros for customs services from a customs broker recommended by your postal agent (Fedex).

Excellent quality compared to others I've tried
tried a couple of cheaper, more popular options on amazon and they break quite easily, are hard to clean, and the blades get dull within weeks. Been using this alligator chopper for about 3 weeks and it's still working perfectly. The heavy steel frame helps a ton with keeping it steady and solid on my countertop while chopping. The blades are still razor sharp and haven't dulled at all after moderate usage. Would recommend highly to those with a larger budget or just want to invest in something that will last a very long time.

My one star review is NOT a review of…
My one star review is NOT a review of Alligator of Sweden, but rather a review of the the chosen shipper (FedEx) and its apparent inability to work with (or rather work around) the current USA Customs process that has become unmanageable for us mere humans. My Alligator Chopper is currently in US Customs hell and I have little confidence that it will ever be released for delivery to me. I have made four phone calls to FedEx and sent a detailed email to Alligator of Sweden, but to date, I cannot see a satisfactory resolution in my near future. For a $129 stainless steel veg chopper, US Customs wants to know many things about the manufacturer, including:
“Need the Country of melt and pour for the Stainless steel for clearance process with US Customs”
This is insane.

I really like the alligator cutter
I really like the alligator cutter! It enhances and improves meal prep tremendously. The only reason I don't give you guys the full 5 stars is that the container itself is pretty flimsy. The first one I've broken within a month. The container is not meant to withstand the forces the cutter itself exerts. So when pressing on the container, the connection breaks and I got a big slit in my container.
The other (smaller) reason for 4/5 is the kind of delivery. I'm not sure that you can change the company you are sending your packages with. I got mine through fedex and living in Germany that's pretty inconvenient for me. There is no collection box near by and they apparently weren't able to bring my package to my neighbor either.

Regarding the slit you mentioned, this type of damage can occasionally occur if the container is not fully clicked into the correct position before you begin chopping. If the collector is slightly misaligned, the force from the cutter can catch the plastic frame instead of passing through cleanly, which can lead to cracks or breaks. We always recommend double-checking that the container is securely attached to the base and the cutting guide before use.
We also take your feedback regarding FedEx in Germany seriously. We understand that local convenience is important, and while we use FedEx for their global reach, we are constantly evaluating our shipping partners to ensure the best possible experience for our customers.

I dislike that it is not clear which grid will come. I am totally frustrated that the basic version does not include a grid for potatoes, however, I believe it is more popular. And even when I ordered a separate grid for potatoes, there was no spare cleaning grid.

Some primarily use their Alligator for onions, vegetables, and fruits, while others prefer larger grids for potatoes or other applications. Rather than including every grid in every package, we offer several set options so customers can choose the configuration that best suits their needs.
The contents of each set, including the included grid sizes, are listed on the product page. We understand, however, that it can sometimes be difficult to determine which configuration is the best fit before purchase, and we appreciate your feedback on how we can make this information clearer.
Regarding the separate potato grid, replacement and accessory grids are sold individually and therefore do not include an additional cleaning grid. The cleaning grid included with the main unit is designed to be used with the corresponding cutting grid. If you need an additional cleaning grid, these are available separately.

Stay away - international seller, will incur customs fees.
I never received my order. It’s stuck in customs and I have attempted to contact you regarding this multiple times with no response. How do I get a refund?
UPDATE: Beware. Product was held at customs for weeks. Seller was non responsive to emails during this time. Fedex finally contacted me asking for seller’s address information because it was missing/withheld from the shipping label (I suspect so the customs fees are transferred to the receiver instead of sender) and customs released the package. I’m now being charged customs fees of $47 on a $29 order, in order to get my package. Do not purchase from this company through shop.com. They do not disclose at time of purchase or anywhere on the receipt, that items ship from out-of-country, or that you will be on the hook for expensive customs fees. With all that being said, I do love their chopper an it works very well, hence my decision to purchase an additional cutter size. I should have bought from Amazon and saved myself the headache.

The current delay is due to U.S. Customs clearance procedures, which are outside of our control. Unfortunately, recent changes in import requirements have resulted in some shipments being held while Customs requests additional information.
We have responded to customer inquiries regarding these customs requests and have been providing the required documentation whenever requested. If you have contacted us and did not receive a reply, please check your spam/junk folder or contact us again so we can assist you directly.
Since the shipment is currently being processed by U.S. Customs and has not been returned to us, a refund cannot be issued at this stage. We will, however, continue to do everything we can to support the clearance process.

Held up by assistance, indefinitely delay
Because of lack of information, Was a delay in FedEx caused by import lack of information. Been held up at FedEx for for a week and a half. I gave them the information I had off your website and I haven’t heard a thing from them so I ordered one from Amazon for $25 cheaper. It’s still in delay in Oakland. now, May 13 one this one be released from customs.

Unfortunately, we are currently seeing an increase in random customs inspections in the US, along with stricter and sometimes unclear import requirements. These controls are handled entirely by US customs authorities, and they have been causing unexpected delays not just for us, but for many shipments coming from Europe. We know this is impacting our customers, and we truly share your frustration.
Even when all the necessary information is provided, shipments can still be held for extended periods without clear communication, which is exactly the kind of situation you’re experiencing in Oakland.
At the moment, the release from customs depends solely on the authorities and FedEx’s processing once it’s cleared. While most shipments do eventually get released, we unfortunately don’t have the ability to speed up or influence that process.
We really appreciate your patience and understanding here—we know it’s not a great experience, and we’re feeling the effects of these delays alongside you.
