DISASTER!
Mess from the very beginning.
When I was going to pick up the car (late at night) I couldn't pay with American Express. Even though they announced at the time of booking that they accept AMEX cards. Had to pay with a Debit card with a promise that if we contacted their office the next day they would put the money back on the debit card and charge the AMEX card instead. Heard from me the next day and then the representative who answered said they would be in touch.
2 days later I called again and they said they "hadn't forgotten about me" but would contact me as soon as possible. After waiting another 3 days I heard back and then they asked me to email the case to them, which I refused. After another 1 day, they corrected the charge (the same day I returned the car).
Once I got home I saw that they had charged me 1 extra rent on a card that I used for the deposit and that charge was deducted the day before I returned the car and have not received any explanation as to why and also promises that they will send the money back via bank transfer.
Now almost 10 days later, they still haven't resolved this yet and are not accommodating at all, instead referring to them to resolve this as soon as possible.
So if you want a worry-free car rental, CHOOSE ANOTHER Car rental company. The only positive thing about this car rental company was that the car was new and fresh.

Your AMEX credit card was declined in Alicante Aiport. In normal situation we can refuse to give the car because credit card must be on name of driver. Due to late time and situation, our staff accepted your friends card, that worked. On next day you requested from us to return the money to your friend and charge to you. We could refuse to do that (you should return the money to your friend, not we), but we did it, because you said that you need to pay via AMEX card. We did the wire transfer to your friend at our cost. Because you said that you could not wait and called to Alicante, Madrid, Denia and Valencia offices, our staff in two offices, trying to help, by mistake refund to your friend but charge twice to you (what we already solved via wire transfer as you know). We admit our mistake and we already solve it. Our staff trying to honor your wishes broke the established procedures and made a mistake that we regret but have corrected. Our priority was that you can leave the Alicante Aiport with a car (against a common rule in all rent a car), follow your desire to refund/repay,...). But we did a mistake, and again, even solved, we sorry for that.

Really great! Though the office was not at the airport but 10 minutes away, and they take you there when you give them their car.

This damage mentioned is impossible. We’ve been to my sister in Benissa for a day where the car was located at their home. We will make a claim to Sunny car who will handle. We won’t recommend this dealer to others.

After being let down by Discovery Cars
After being let down by Discovery Cars. Com, who we arranged a car from, but we’re told by the renters the vehicle we had booked was not available they managed to find a smaller vehicle to enable us to be mobile in Spain.
A very friendly organisation who went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our holiday.
More than you can say about Discovery cars. Com who didn’t care less they had the booking fee and that’s all that mattered.
My advice would be to book direct and I’m sure you will a better deal from these guys.

Hello Robert. If you come to our offices with "full cover" from Booking it is not mandatory to order additional insurance, even our premium insurace provide more cover than the Booking "full cover". We instruct our employees to offer additional insurance only when needed and only as optional. Please contact with us in info@alquicoche.es if an employee forced you to take additional coverage to investigate and refund you. We are sorry that the experience has not been satisfactory for you.

Everything went fast and well…
Everything went fast and well organized. Car had a few little nicks and scratches that were not documented on the contract papers. The employee did take pictures and there was no issue when handing the car back over, but as the customer I could not be sure these pics from pick up would still be there at drop off. Plus the car was a little dirty (dusty) on the outside. However, since it is a seaside town and I believe the car park is outside, this is difficult to change.
At last, I am not happy with the unfortunately too common practice of drop off as pick up fuel policy. Bringing back a car with a 5/7th filled fuel tank is putting an extra burden of guesswork onto the customer. Full/full is soooo much easier.
Plus side, very well organised, fast pick up. Faster drop off. And very friendly staff. Car in overall good condition.
