Zakariya of Al Rayan Bank was so helpful and patient informing me how to register with digital banking. He even stayed after 5pm and also rang me again. Finally we succeeded. I am forever grateful to Zahariya

Himanga was brilliant, took his time (73years old) had patience and took me through the process nicely and gently. Can fault the service.

Everything we have had the worst customer service rude and derogatory talking over a horrible connection mumbling. Stopping elderly and disabled from getting to their money. Stopping transfers because they feel like it. Asking you to send proof when you already have. Running circles around old people to confuse them so they can steal their money.

I had a call with Muhammad Baig and he expertly guided me through setting up my account with the app. Thank you Muhammad!

Diabolical service
Digital Banking log in failed as account number not recognised
Several phone calls totally ignored
2 official complaints ignored
This bank has £111,000 of mine but not for any longer if I can manage to extract it
I'm now contacting the Financial Ombudsman Service although I have little faith in that

As executor for my deceased mother, I’ve been trying to get her funds released. I’ve had to chase every step of the way for information, navigating through an impenetrable ‘AI assistant’ each time I call. Despite having provided grant of probate, they asked for more info (that none of her other banks requested) and more than a week later, still no funds transfer. Today, I’ll have to call the AI bot again and witter on until a real person intervenes. Last time I called, a very polite lady apologised, explaining that they were short staffed and experiencing back logs. Al Rayan’s inefficiency has definitely become my burden - all other accounts closed and completed on the sale of a house in the meantime!

I wanted to open an account and created an application online nearly 3 months ago. After couple of weeks I got a letter asking to send a signed application along with some documents attested. Took the trouble and got it attested from the post office paying some money.
Posted the documents. No response for few weeks. Then someone called and asked for some additional documents and send by email. I promptly got them attested and emailed. This was around 17/12/2024.
After more than 1 1/2 months (6-7 weeks) today someone calls and ask me to send the same documents by post. I told this is very unprofessional and unexplained delay. I wanted them to send a email. She sends email
Saying my application is expired and if I need to open an account I have to reapply. What a disgrace. They delay without any reason.
Don’t give proper instructions and now they want me to reapply and through the whole process spending more money for attestation and postage. And who know how long more they will take to respond.
This is a very very frustrating situation and utterly unacceptable and unprofessional.
We expect Islamic banks to support the customers but they are totally opposite.
I have decided not to open and account and I would not advise anyone to think of. If there is any authority to escalate this and help make processes easy let me know. As of now Rayan Bank in Uk is a big NO

Following my recent two horrendous experiences with Al Rayan Digital Banking System. Yesterday i had an arranged, exceptional telephone call with Aisha, Customer Services Assistant at Al Rayan Bank with the objective of setting up the re-investment of my FT Bond. I would like to say that, as expected, this telephone consultation went perfectly and Aisha was most professional and helpful throughout. The whole re-investment process was completed in circa 10 minutes without any problems like i had with the highly complex Digital Banking System - Thank you again Aisha for your help in this matter.

I have had great experience banking with Al Rayan, I agree with other users, they need to get with the times and allow withdrawals and transfers 24/7. It makes it very hard to use Al Rayan as your main bank because of the limitations in trading hours.
Also, I am trying to get my wife to open an account here but it's become so difficult, the process needs to be more easier and online. I'm having to send ORIGINAL copies of id and proof of address? This is very long and puts me off from sharing the bank to my family and friends. Please, can you improve these two areas of banking. Otherwise i'd have given 5 stars.

Have had an account with al rayan bank for over 10 years since I was a kid. They use to have a branch over in Edgware Road and was very easy. Since they’ve changed over to just online banking. I must say I’ve never experienced such horrendous customer services and rules etc. I got logged out of my online banking and I cannot seem to log back in. They expect me to send my original copies of ID to gain access to my own bank account. They need to take notes from other online banks such as Monzo / Revolut etc which you can pass security online via uploading ID and taking live pictures. I highly recommend to avoid this bank takes about over 40 minutes to even get connected to a call.

The assistance from Fozeea on the telephone was first class. She listened carefully to my issue and patiently took me through what I needed to rectify the issue. I was very impressed with Fozeea’s support, she was specific and clear in her instructions. I would recommend the bank without any hesitation.

Trying to close an account for a long time as rates no longer competitive. Sent several secure messages and all ignored. Even sent a letter in the past which was also ignored.
Utterly pathetic bank and non-existent service.

Al rayan have switched massively to digital banking and that has caused major problems. The sign up process for digital banking is horrendous 4 hours of Internet issues plus authentication process is even worse. I think they expect their customers to own apple mobiles or yesterdays tablet to access their service. After 45 minutes on phone and 3 hours online we eventually gave up and OUR BOND WHICH MATURES IN 10 DAYS WILL NOW BE REINVESTED WITH ANOTHER PROVIDER THAT IS MORE CUSTOMER FOCUSED .Shame really as we have dealt with al rayan for a number of years but the switch to digital has not been thought out properly and the system is VERY POOR

Although this bank society offer good interest rates but their rules to transfer money out is ridiculous, you are not allowed to transfer over the weekend, they work as supermarkets in 1990th,

Probably the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with, the app is terrible keeps crashing and not intuitive at all! The virtual bot is totally useless, unable to answer the most basic questions. I want to take my money elsewhere but I finding it extremely difficult to get this done as no one is answering the phone lines been on the call for over an hour! They really need to get their customers service system fixed or they’ll be losing customers! Very disappointed!
