Best bank ever friendly helpful understanding

During some changes with Alta's account portal I had some issues logging in and paying my Mortgage. The staff were more then helpful and with my interactions with Jeanne Struckmann, she went above and beyond to make sure everything was straightened out with my accounts. Thank you!

I want to access my account and the system will not allow me to. I followed all of the steps to regain access to no avail. Customer service is not available to reset an account after hours/weekends, so to say you offer 24hr service is a lie. I am sure you want your money right away, why is it customer/members must wait for our money? I would have not given any stars had it been an option.

Becoming a member at Altra has been the best decision I’ve made. It’s difficult to remember a bad experience, the staff has always been very helpful and easy to contact which means a lot. Their loan process is very easy and has helped increase my credit score which is a great bonus!

I went with Altra because they beat out my regular credit union by a percentage point on a recent motorcycle loan. I typically buy a new vehicle every 18 months or so because of the work that I do in the industry, so I was interested in saving some money with Altra.

Ultimately, they were fine to work with for originating the loan, but in the months since, I would say that their payment portal and subsequent web services and customer service have been disappointing.

Their payment portal is separate from their actual website, it's super confusing and not intuitive at all. Recently when I forgot my password I spent hours trying to get it to reset. This included having to call Customer Service because my account got "locked", having Customer Service tell me I was good to go, but had to manually reset my password on the portal. As soon as I hung up I went to try it, and was still locked out.

Not wanting to spend another 15 minutes on hold, I sent over a quick email to which they came back a few hours later saying I would have to call again during work hours (it was now the night time).

Here I am now, having the system tell me that they "sent me a password reset email" but with no said email showing up and I am going to get to call them again.

I with I would have just stuck with PSECU as my Credit Union. They were phenomenal, easy to work with, and had incredibly easy-to-use payment tools. If I could do it over again I would HAPPILY pay the extra one-percent to not have to deal with Altra's confusing payment tools.

Altra's website is horrible! I am unable to access desired information.

Instructions to set up online banking does not correlate with altra.org site to find online banking in upper right hand corner of screen. Tried many times and still cannot access or create account. Already am hating this service for my vehicle loan.

All I want to do is to have someone send money to my account from their altra account. I googled this and found altra pay, and I keep getting how to do it through Mobile. It says its for Desktop and Mobile, but the instructions are clearly for mobile only. It says to click "SEND MONEY" which is only in the mobile app, not the online banking home page.

I can't find current loan rates for vehicles, just run around links. What a waste of my time.

I am leaving a 3 star review because we have not had difficulties until the last few months and have been banking here for 12+ years. My husband lost our debit card so we had them cancel it next thing I know they are telling me I owe $68 in overdrafts and they closed my checking account. I paid the overdraft and just kept my savings account open 2 months later I received a letter in the mail from a collection agency trying to collect the sane $68 I paid the credit union. Then this weekend I have had to help my 19 year old son deal with card holder and account services due to his card being locked over an app he buys stuff from atleast 3 times a week. We have called 9 times between the 2 agencies and they unlocked his card for about 2 hours before it locked again. So my son has no way to access his money until we go in on Monday when the lobby opens. So I guess if you work weekends or 1st shift be careful unless you can borrow money from someone because they said there is nothing they can do. Also I heard my son correct the card services employee 5 times on his gender and he still continued to call him Ms. he has a soft voice but when someone tells you point blank I am a male and would prefer to be addressed as such and their high employee still refers to you as Miss that is an issue.

In person service remains top notch, even though I prefer using phone service and the automated service works for simple general inquiries, but more complex situations require a live person.

Always answers my concerns. Very friendly.

Kate is an excellent Representative everything was explained in details. She went above an beyond to assist me with my loan process, personal account and even credit card. The best experience I’ve ever had with a bank.

Use people that will actually help people.
