The trade tower also offers substantially greater working height capacity (9.65m) than any other tower in its class. On our industrial tower (TUV GS marked) we have made installation even easier by redesigning and reducing the weight of the toe board, to further enhance a product that has already been sold in its thousands across the UK. Safety is our top priority – always! Every tower we sell has been manufactured to the rigorous quality and the same standard of manufacture required by top European approval bodies such as BSI and TUV in Germany. To this end all our sales staff are qualified as PASMA mobile scaffold tower erectors – so they understand your issues – as well as offering in-depth product knowledge gained through training at our manufacturing plant. We value innovation and ensure that our products are continuously improved to meet the ever-changing needs and challenges of our customers. We are very confident you will be delighted with our products – so confident that we offer an unconditional no quibble, 5 year manufacturers guarantee on all our towers, against manufacturing defects on every Loyal tower we sell.

Good service…

A few years I bought a tower from this company; at that time you could only buy the kits. Recently a couple of parts got damaged so I was pleased to find that replacement parts are now available. I ordered what I needed and the following day they arrived. My only slight criticism concerns the delivery as I had no information from DK as to when they might arrive and I wanted to be here to take delivery. I was busy in the morning but fortunately back home when they arrived around 14:30. Still, some sort of eta, even if it was only morning or afternoon would have been welcome.

Initial demonstration of products in Ely (I live on the Wirral but worth the trip).
After ordering, efficient invoicing and communication.
After sales, answered all questions with advice and speedy resolution when I realised I needed some different parts. Perfect experience in my opinion. Oh and tower scaffolding works great.

Fast response & postage, unfortunately wrong product advice given.

Nice, quick postage & well wrapped.
Three stars as I did email them to check the size of the bolts on the stabilizers clams to replace a couple of the black wingnuts that my tower ones came with. I was told that I needed the solid steel M10 wingnuts & not the black M8 ones, but this didn't seem right to me so I measured the diameter of the bolt myself & found they were in fact M8. It might be the case that they now use M10 bolts & a solid steel wingnut on newer towers as the flaw with the black M8's seems to be that over time the brass insert is pulled out of the plastic housing rendering it and the stabilizer useless as the brass insert on my ones fits through the clams bolt hole too. Anyway as my tower is very lightly used I ordered the Black M8 ones & they fitted fine, I will look to get some heavy duty penny washers so that if the plastic housing should ever come loose while up the tower. Then hopefully this will stop the threaded insert slipping through the bolt hole.

Aluminium Scaffold Towers reply is a fair one.

I can however confirm that the wingnuts have only ever been tightened by hand, overtightening might but shouldn't be an issue.
That the tower has never been left outside for prolonged periods i.e., maybe put up the day before, nor done so in harsh weather conditions.
The Tower is however about 8yrs old & has been stored in an unheated/uninsulated shed for most of that time. So maybe that has had some effect, but it has little to no signs of rust due to it getting a regular dose of WD40 on the obvious steel bolts/parts.
To clarify further, the brass insert has be pulled out of the plastic housings rather than the housings spinning when tightened. The Insert appears to be press fitted into the plastic housing & still requires some force to reinsert it, however when reused they will pull out again once the tower is in use, presumably due to the forces then applied on an already weakened union between the insert & plastic housing.

The tower itself is a great piece of kit, the wingnuts are just a minor issue & i'm just glad that they were easily replaced.

Hello Justin,

Thank you for your review. Just to confirm, the bolts on the stabiliser bars are M10 and the bolts on the outriggers are M8. As you asked for "stabilizer" bolts on your original message we thought you were asking for the M10 ones and later realised you were actually asking for M8 ones for the outriggers, just some sellers refer to outriggers as stabilisers but we refer to them as outriggers hence the confusion.

We have always used the same size bolts for the DIY Outriggers and stabiliser bars, difference being as above.

On the brass inserts pulling out of the plastic housing, there are a number of factors which could cause this as below:

- Overtightening the wing nuts, it shouldn't be possible to overtighten them by hand but if using a tool to tighten them, for example a spanner, then this could provide enough force to break the plastic housing then the brass insert can pull out.
- If the wing nuts are old and if they have been left outside, in freezing cold and direct sunlight, for some time then the plastic housing may have aged making it easier for the plastic housing to break and insert to pull out. If the plastic housing gets damaged, from storage or incorrect use, then this would obviously weaken the housing also.
- Also on ageing, if the bolts have become rusty, usually from repeated use as we do coat them to prevent rust but repeated use will cause the coating to rub off and if left in bad weather, then it would be harder to turn the wing nuts and possibly result in using tools as per the first point.

If you can advise whether any of the above factors may have affected the structural integrity of your wing nuts then we will ask our factory to investigate further.

Kind Regards,
Aluminium Scaffold Towers

Hello Justin,

Thank you for informing back / your edited reply. We have asked our factory to investigate how this could happen. The brass insert is moulded into the plastic housing so the plastic housing would have had to break at the bottom for the brass insert to come out but as you’ve kindly confirmed that none of the factors we mentioned would have affected your wing nuts we’ll investigate further. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us this review.

Kind Regards,
Aluminium Scaffold Towers

Overall a good, value for money product

While adding a review about something completely different I was reminded of this purchase, a 4.2 metre mobile scaffold. I've been using it for a project for about a year now and overall have been quite happy with it including the purchasing process.

Only criticisms would be some lack of clarity in the instructions and issues with one of the trapdoors expanding and not closing properly requiring it to be trimmed (basically ply with a plastic coating), but it has been outside constantly in all weathers, so maybe that's being a bit picky. Other than that it has been a very good purchase and I would be happy to recommend it.
