Reviewers frequently encountered significant issues with customer service, citing poor responsiveness, difficulty reaching real people, and a lack of resolution for their problems, even after multiple attempts to contact the company. Many also reported problems with payments, including unexpected debits, charges for services not yet active, and difficulties with billing processes. Not so Amazing Amaysim

after years of being with Amaysim Mobile the towers that were on their map on Dandenong Road across from my house were removed and my coverage went down to 1 bar in my living room and no bars in my bedroom
When I emailed them and bought it to their attention they told me to turn my phone off and on again.

I explained that my phone has 5 bars of 5 G coverage everywhere else except in my own home and
After a few emails trying to explain the towers have been removed they told me my nearest tower was Toorak West over 6 kilometres away and then told they use the Optus network and there is nothing they can do. and if the coverage isn't acceptable to go to anther provider.

Yesterday I had full coverage at home and I was elated - however waking up today - NOTHING

So after nearly 10 years with AMAYSIM all I can say if crap service, crap reception and hopefully they read reviews and do something about it. Cause my friend is with Vodaphone and its just as bad and Telsta is something I cant afford

Abrupt end unjustified cancellation of phone and internet.

A few days after taking out $25 by direct debit for what was originally a $15 plan I received a phone call saying my account was 'overdrawn' then they hung up. Then they cancelled my phone and internet. Like someone else on here with a disability who relies on their phone and internet for food, medical, transport information etc and now has to change a decades old phone number with so many doctors and agencies and family etc this is unconscionable. To cancel these essential services for no reason with no notice makes me want to complain to Ombudsman and ACCC. DO NOT USE AMAYSIM!!
They also continued direct debits though THEY had closed the account and cut off phone and internet services!!

Charged before id verification

Charged me before confirmation that i can be a customer. Also the verification process is terrible. For foreign passports, it says single name should leave a hyphen on the “given name” input, however the web interface cant allow special characters to be submitted… the app version locks the user(iphone)’s keyboard between text and numbers only…

Difficult to sign up and cancel

Difficult to sign up and the cancel. The signup is one of those ones where they give you a QR code as part of the process, so unless you happen to be with someone who can photograph the qr code and then you scan it, it’s quite difficult to navigate through.

The service from then on is fine.

The cancellation is a proper pain. You can’t cancel the service easily, they ask you to email, then make you jump through verification hoops incessantly and wait for some mysterious call back to go over the same info theyve already asked you- as if you have nothing better to do than converse with them all day long.

Would avoid personally.

Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!

Avoid at all costs.

Amaysim has passed on my credit details to a 3rd party and the are invoicing me 49.99 dollars on a monthly basis without any warning because someone at Amaysim didn't process my cancellation properly.

I was on a prepaid plan, I called the center to stop the services and as it is Amaysim decided to pass on my credit card details, shame on you.

Also not able to remove credits card details from their mobile app which is another kick in the gut.

AMAYSIM mobile Service

came to Australia for a week and needed mobile data, so I decided to sign up with AMAYSIM. Even the registration process was difficult and took a long time to complete, which was already frustrating at the beginning.
I used the service during my stay, but when I left the country I decided to cancel my plan.
However, I discovered that there is no cancellation option in the app. It only says that you need to contact customer service to cancel. First, I tried to inform them through the chat function, but I couldn’t connect with a real customer service representative.
Then I decided to call them and spent around 30 minutes on the line waiting to connect with a customer service officer, but no one answered. I tried calling again at a different time and had the same experience — it seemed like no one was available to help.
After that, I sent them emails. I emailed them three times but never received any response. Despite this, after one month they tried to deduct another payment from my account.
I blocked the payment, but then they sent me a letter saying the payment had declined.
Overall, I found their help service extremely poor practically non-existent. Calling, emailing, or chatting with a real customer service representative seemed impossible. Very disappointing with AMAYSIM.

🚨 Amaysim Customer Service Nightmare – Pixel 8a 🚨

We purchased a Pixel 8a from Amaysim. The phone freezes constantly, overheats dangerously (50°C+ 🔥), and shuts down repeatedly. They rejected my warranty claim with no explanation, apparently thinking this is “normal.”

Amaysim, do you honestly think a phone that hot is safe?

I told them this is my only phone, and I’m now genuinely concerned for my safety — what happens if I need to ring emergency services and it shuts down?

Returned the phone → no report, no resolution. Emails ignored or meaningless. TIO gave them two weeks to fix it — they did nothing. Escalating now to Fair Trading & ACL.

💸 $500 down the drain. Don’t make the same mistake.

Blocked Without Warning — Leaving a Vulnerable Person Unable to Call for Help.

My participant, who lives with both mental health and physical disabilities, recently experienced a very distressing and unsafe situation because his Amaysim service stopped working without any warning. While out in public, he found himself unable to make any calls, during a moment when he really needed help.

After contacting Amaysim and providing the IMEI, we were told that the phone was around 9 years old and had been blocked under the new emergency‑calling regulations introduced in October 2024, which require telcos to disconnect devices that cannot make Triple Zero (000) calls over 4G/VoLTE. I fully understand these new rules and the safety reasons behind them.
However, there was absolutely no prior communication. For someone with vulnerabilities, suddenly losing the ability to call support people, family, or emergency services is extremely dangerous.

This should never happen to anyone, let alone someone with disabilities who depends on their phone for safety. Telcos are required to notify affected customers and provide assistance options, yet in this case, none of that occurred.

This experience was unacceptable, frightening for the participant, and could have ended much worse. I hope Amaysim improves their communication processes so vulnerable people are not placed at risk like this again.

International roaming completely failed, no meaningful support

The moment I moved overseas and needed basic international roaming for SMS (primarily for 2FA), the service completely broke down.

Despite enabling roaming both on my account and device, I was unable to receive text messages in central London. I raised this issue on 23 January and went through multiple rounds of generic troubleshooting responses — restart your phone, toggle airplane mode, reset network settings, try different networks, etc. None of it resolved the issue.

The most frustrating part was being told to complete processes that required receiving a verification SMS — when the core issue was that I could not receive SMS due to their roaming failure. It felt circular and completely disconnected from the actual problem.

Escalations were slow, inconsistent, and ultimately did not provide a functional solution. If you rely on your number for banking authentication, work logins, or any secure access while overseas, I would strongly reconsider.

Domestic service may be fine, but international reliability and support responsiveness were extremely disappointing.

I am still unable to port my mobile to a different provider due to Amaysim’s abysmal service.

Unauthorised Renewal

Thank you for cancelling this SIM.

I used this sim when visiting Australia for 2 weeks.

It was prepaid however, your website insisted I give my credit card details which is wrong. Strike 1.

Your website then did not tell me it was Auto Renewed and I did not authorise this nor did I press a radio button to engage this feature.. Strike 2.

There is no place where I can cancel this service and no place when I can remove my card details. Strike 3 and 4.

What should have been an easy prepaid service has turned into a nightmare and an email I should not be sending you.

Please address this email to your supervisor.
Kadek.
