Ambrogio l60 elite s+

I got my Ambrogio Elite quite a few years back and never had a problem with it. I didn’t even change the blades. Admittedly I never got around to launch the mobile application to control it but there was really no need for me to do so. When the grass needs cutting, I take it out, put it on the grass and press start. I leave it out until the grass is cut, press stop, put it back in and get it to charge. Not sure why the little beautiful ambrogio got so many negative reviews in TrustPilot. I guess for those of us who don’t have any issues with it, we just don’t think we should be writing a good review to express our satisfaction. I realised my mistake when someone asked me to recommend a robot mower and I searched for my model to recommend it. This particular model has been in UK for many years now and when I bought it, I did my due diligence for a couple of years (user reviews, trends, videos, expert reviews, etc.) Key factors for me were, and still are: no perimeter wire, small enough not to take too much space, Italian design at its best - love the design although I would have preferred more the shape and color (red) of the one at about £10k which looks like a Ferrari, not breaking the bank on price/quality, tried and tested by many people across Europe (although in other countries is called by a different name) and the reliability of the brand and its research team. I know my one is not as smart as some other models out there but I don’t need it to be. When the battery will die, I hope my model is still on the market so I could purchase it again.

I would not buy another Ambrogio

This mower is awful. It has never really worked properly. The dealer stopped answering the phone to come and repair it. Then the dealer shut down. A new dealer repaired it using parts from a broken used machine to keep cost down. It still cost €500. A motor had stopped working. Now it says it has bus errors and continuous geofence errors.

I’m happy to point out I did not buy this robot mower in the uk. I bought it in ROI. This doesn’t change the fact that it is not fit for purpose. Ambrogio customer care in ROI were not helpful either.

Just not a very good product

I have five robot mowers doing various areas on a large overall plot. The only one that has consistently performed badly is the Ambrogio. Poor design, very poorly coded software makes for a product that's ultimately not fit for purpose. The battery has now failed and so I've permanently retired the machine. This is the worst high cost piece of equipment I have ever owned. My advice would be to look elsewhere. There are some great robot mowers out there. None of them are made by Ambrogio.

5 years experience of Ambrogio Robots

I have used these robot mowers for the last 5 years. Originally having an L350 which packed up 2 years after new. replaced it with 4.36 elite machines. one of these packed up during warranty and they had to replace it. These were nothing but trouble from the start. The infinity system which is suppose to allow the machines to talk with each other never worked properly. the machines are temperamental, breaking down, needing new parts, and very costly to return to the dealer for repair.
In the end I have had to give up using these mowers, as they wanted over £3200 to repair them outside warranty, certainly beyond economic repair. I am going to revert back to manual cutting of my 2 acres of grass. More reliable for sure!

Dear Don,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your frustrations, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation for you and others reading this review.

We have thoroughly reviewed your service history, and it’s important to provide some context. Your initial L350 model did encounter issues, and we worked closely with you to reach an agreement that saw you upgrade to the 4.36 Elite model. Regarding the claim that these machines have been consistently unreliable, our records show only 2 hardware issue—the replacement of mowing motors and a connect module, which was completed under warranty at no cost to you. Beyond this, the units have performed a huge number of operating hours.

Regarding the most recent concern, we understand the disappointment around the damage sustained. However, it's crucial to note that this damage resulted from “Your actions” and not because of a fault or hardware issue, the Robots being turned upside down and washed with a hose. This practice is explicitly warned against in the user manual, as it risks water ingress into sensitive electronic components. Unfortunately, the extensive damage observed was a direct result of such water exposure for a prolonged period over winter storage.

We always strive to provide excellent service, even in challenging circumstances. However, we must note that interactions with you have been difficult due to the nature of your exchanges. We appreciate directness, but courteous and constructive dialogue helps us resolve issues more effectively.

We understand the frustration when repairs are needed, especially outside warranty. Our team strives to be transparent about repair costs and options, and we are always open to discussing feasible solutions.

While we regret that your experience has led to this outcome, we stand by the quality of our products and the support provided throughout your ownership. We remain available to discuss any further concerns you might have.

Sincerely,
The Ambrogio UK Team

Good product with great back up.

My mower had a fault and needed a service too. This was all done by Mower Magic who were great. They kindly liaised with the factory in Italy who were also very fair in solving the issue.

My thanks go out to Gage at Mower Magic and the kind hearted people at the factory.

I’ll be completely honest I run a company — AutoMowIt that installs these robot mowers, but only because of how pleased I’ve been with mine, an L250 Elite S+, I’ve had it two years now and it’s effortlessly maintaining my acre lawn area.
My neighbours got one, my bro in law, for everyone I fit I always end up fitting more because they are brilliant, and the suppprtfrom Ambrogio UK is excellent.
