Ambrogio 4.36 Elite 4WD: Waste of money

I own two Ambrogio 4.36 Elite 4WD mowers for about 2.5 years now and it's been very disappointing.

Over the past 2.5 years they've been out for repairs at an official dealer about half the time; each repair costs 4-5 months, usually due to bad part availability. I've had a motherboard, a bump sensor, many steering motors and front drive motors replaced already.

Battery life deteriorates fast and Ambrogio's battery warranty is a joke; only when the remaining mowing time is 30 minutes it's accepted for warranty.

The Android and iPhone apps are mediocre but I could live with that if the mowed properly.

One positive note; the mowers manage longer grass (up to 10cm) well. The four pointed blade is very effective.
Note that the listed mowing capacity is way to optimistic. My two mowers are each supposed to be able to handle 6000 m2 EACH, but together they just about manage 5500 m2.

All in all I feel it's been a waste of my 110000 euros.

What a piece of garbage

What a piece of garbage. I have now owned the Ambrogio 4.0 4wd Elite for one year. The software is worse than bad.....and their service technician in Poland says that it is the fault of the software engineers in Italy ! Robofarma readily admits that the connectivity does not work the way it should and that they have a lot of complaints. Bottom line.....don't believe the hype of their advertising. Mine won't connect with my phone, they suggested changing from Iphone to Samsung, I bought a 4,500 zl Samsung then 3 months later they recommended changing back to Iphone.! Nothing improved. I sent the machine back to the RoboFarma repair centre ( Robofarma are the sole distributor in Poland) they say they changed a few things and sent it back. It still doesn't work. A full year of problems, they know how bad they are,. Why would they sell this.......stuff? Now I am asking for a full refund.....they are not honoring the warranty. Shame on them. More to come. If you check on ChatGPT Ambrogio ranks lowest of all major Robots for connectivity....especially, for some reason in UK and Poland.

Avoid Ambrogio Robotic Mowers

Had the Ambrogio L250I Elite for 5 winters. Have yet to have it for a summer as keeps breaking down. Waiting 9 weeks so far for the engineer to answer the phone or reply to a text message as this time needs new battery. Had engineers even over from Italy.....Still the machine does not work. Avoid Ambrogio Robots at all costs, retailer who sold it are a waste of time too, full of empty promises

Poorly designed products

I have five robot mowers doing various areas on a large overall plot. The only one that has consistently performed badly is the Ambrogio. Poor design, very poorly coded software makes for a product that's ultimately not fit for purpose. The battery has now failed and is so expensive that I've now permanently retired the machine. This is the worst high cost piece of equipment I have ever owned. My advice would be to look elsewhere. There are some great robot mowers out there. None of them are made by Ambrogio.

Ambrogio L350i Elite

Have a L350i Elite in its 5th season and quite frankly this mower is not cost effective to own.
So far it is on its third battery, they cost over €700 to replace when out of the 2 year warranty and therefore that is a cost every 2nd year in my experience.
I have replaced both front wheels at €110 a time already out of warranty.
Now the driven wheels are loosening and falling off and the dealer advises me that to fix will require 2 new wheel motors at a cost of almost €700.
I am planning on retiring it or selling on for spares. This level of durability is not what I expected from a machine costing over €4000 in 2019.

Happy to clarify that my review relates to my ownership experience with this machine rather than any experience with Ambrogio GB as I purchased and use this mower in ROI. Bottom line is that it has cost less to maintain my Honda 2216 ride on mower over 23 years of ownership than an Ambrogio L3501 Elite over 4 and a bit cutting seasons.
