Documented 89% markup on an IRA order
American Hartford Gold charged an 89% premium on a physical retirement IRA purchase, which stripped over $11,000 of principal value. A recent audit of Sales Order AHG00029221 from September 7, 2023, shows the price charged was $909.88 per coin for Gold Australian Wildlife 1/4-oz coins, while the gold spot price listed on their own invoice was $1,923.00 per ounce. A 1/4-oz gold coin at that spot price has a melt value of $480.75. Charging $909.88 for a $480.75 asset is an 89% markup. Recent attempts to resolve this massive discrepancy and seek restitution have been met with silence. Do not rely on verbal phone promises; demand written pricing breakdowns relative to spot price before signing anything.
