Don't waste your time or your money on this company. They take your money and will get ahold of you until they have it. after that you will not be able to reach your caseworker. then after 9 months of them sitting on there hands doing nothing and me canceling service in July 2024. this weekend they got into y bank account and emptied it. took 767.55 out I wasn't even a clint. I checked them with the BBB don't go by that, speak to a rep and you will find out why I say that means nothing. I'm trying to save someone the pain I have gone through

Avoid this company at all costs! They are a scam. They took my money and did nothing for me. I called the IRS myself and they told me that no one from their office has contacted them in over a year. They do not return calls. They do not resolve anything. I don’t want to see other hard-working people get their money stolen from them by a company like this. Avoid these people they are negligent about taking care of your tax issues.

This is about the scammiest company ever. I recently had some tax liens (federal and state) but the federal was paid off a few months ago and the state is in a payment plan (so I owe, but there is no lien). I got a mass mailer today that looks like a notice from a court or government agency. The letterhead is a whole bunch of "official sounding" words -- "Tax Processing Unit", "Internal Processing Service" (trying to sound like "Internal Revenue Service", right??), "Nassau County [NY]" (trying to appear to be from a county government office), and "Public Judgement [sic] Records" -- but completely fictitious. There is no such government agency or office. The only identifiable information (besides MINE) was a toll-free number. I called the number and tried to get basic information from the representative who answered -- only told that the name of the company was "The Tax Group". I confirmed information (that was already in the letter, so not giving away anything confidential), said I didn't think I owed any taxes and the representative hung up on me. I called back 9 more times, and the treatment was basically the same every time -- I would ask questions to understand who the company was, how they got my information, who sent the letter, etc. I would get vague answers that they were a tax resolution company, with main offices in CA, CO, NV, and TX. That they were also called "American Tax Service" (the website I was given -- americantaxservice.com -- shows a company address in Las Vegas, NV). And then I would get "transferred" (i.e., hung up on). I spoke to a total of 8 people in 10 phone calls; none would give me the mailing address of the company and none knew who had sent the letter (some said a 3rd party non-profit, some said only a 3rd party). To be clear, the letter violated Federal laws on deceptive practices. Also, the various names of the company -- "American Tax Service" or "The Tax Group" -- are so generic that it's difficult to verify information about it. American Tax Service has at least 2 websites: 1 of them (atstaxgroup.com) provides NO COMPANY information except a toll-free number; the other (americantaxservice.com) is only slightly less scammy.

Still awaiting a call back and I have no results from IRS, they continue to stall with little to no response

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my IRS audit resolution by American Tax Services (ATS).

Following audit findings from the IRS for tax year 2022, I engaged ATS in September 2024 and paid $2,000 in two installments (September 6 and September 24) to assist in resolving the matter. Unfortunately, the service I have received since then has been severely lacking in both communication and progress.

My initial case manager, Angie Medrano-Huerta, failed to provide any substantial updates beyond confirming that a Power of Attorney (POA) form had been faxed to the IRS. Despite repeated follow-ups, no documentation or evidence of progress was shared with me.

On March 24, 2025, I received two IRS notices—Notice CP79 (disallowing tax credits) and Notice CP22A (indicating a balance due of $19,887.01 by April 14, 2025). I immediately contacted Angie via email, but received no response. Upon calling ATS, I was informed—without prior notification—that my case had been reassigned to Bruno Romero.

After further prompting, Mr. Romero contacted me, stating that my case is under review by a POA who is expected to work with an IRS agent. However, I have yet to receive a timeline, an action plan, or any formal proof that representation has been established. I am also concerned that interest and penalties continue to accrue, suggesting that ATS has not actively engaged with the IRS as promised.

To date, I have received no meaningful communication, no documentation of progress, and no evidence of active representation. I remain at risk of further financial consequences due to this inaction.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend ATS to anyone seeking reliable tax resolution services. The lack of transparency, responsiveness, and results is unacceptable.

They spam call for business and refuse to put on a do not call list. I would say this is shady business.

This “Company,” when called for information said, “I should dig up my dead mother and eff her.” Then proceeded to tell my wife to “eat a male genitalia .” Definitely a scam. Sounds like kids in their basement trying to scam people out of money. They don’t accept payments unless it’s a card payment. They can’t provide you with any information, address, and each person I’ve talked to has refused to provide any information as to what service they provide.

I am usually pretty savy about not getting scammed, but after $2200 payment to ATS it looks like i've been scammed. The reviews on Trust pilot were 4,3 but I just checked Yelp and their rating is now 1.3 Bruno my account rep does not answer my calls or messages and his suprv Armando is worse. It has been 5 months and I dont even get the courtesy of a call or email. Avoid these people at all cost! I should have just paid the $2200 toward my tax debt. Update. A supervisor reached out to me tonight to apologize for the delay. They asked me for 2 pieces of info and promised to get back to me Friday I was certainly impressed! Let’s see how it goes moving forward

Working there was great. Until I got insulted by Anthony the number 2 person in charge of the company. I am thinking about sueing the company for sexual harassment.

I called America tax service to assist for a tax debt. Please do not use this service. Please contact the IRS directly. You will completely waste your time with American Tax service. The money you pay them is best used to your tax debt. After I resolved the issue myself they refused to return my money back. A quote they do not do refunds.

The fact that i was left high and dry by my accountant and didn't know where to turn or who to turn to at last lady luck was on my side. Lost 7k like an idiot and a year later they call and still ask me to send 3 months of wages and bank statements. This is after telling me last month I’m in the appeal process. Beware as I should have validated the Docusign. It’s clear if you examine the docusign. It was 1 month between the request for new documents and my previous document submission

My tax lien was blocking my ability to refinance my home, and I was running out of options. Thanks to their expertise, the lien was lifted, and I was able to move forward with my financial plans.

Taylor McDuff misleading information about the cost charged 350$ upfront no contact for months didn’t ask for paperwork to start the case no emails or paper trail “Michael Brown” very rude condescending asking for additional 4,000$ this is the worst unprofessional company I have ever encountered this person hung up the phone in my face withdrew his POA from the case which is good don’t get involved with this scam company and always read your review’s

They helped me reduce my $30,000 tax debt to just $3,000! I never thought that was possible.

I call for them to look into tax. My job didn't take no tax from me. I'm looking to owe the I.R.S. sign up in Dec 2024. I got a tax from Joshua R. I been calling they hang up on me. Calls goes to voice mail. I paid 500.00 . I want my money back. I don't have money for your pocket only. I knows someone been trying to get in my I.D me . So I call to see if it was the tax people. But, no answer. I'm call the new station. Wow! This is crazy..

American Tax Service is a total rip off . I paid them to represent me with the IRS. They were paid $700.00 to represent me back in October and while the fooled around the IRS turned me over to a colectoion agency. They will not return my calls. I am a 76 and they scammed me. Do not listen to them. Hang up. I want my money back. I was working with Taylor Mcduff. Who will not call me back a nor answer my emails

Company took my case te resolve a 15,000 debt. Charged me 18,000 dollars and still haven't resolved my case. Going on 5 months. Company is a scam. Do not use them. I'm trying to join class action lawsuit.
