Worst customer service ever

Impossible to deal with you spend insane amounts of time on hold to talk to people who can't speak English then when your claim gets accepted you then get told by the glass company that you have a bill for 950 dollars coz ami said the damage occurred before you took out your insurance with is bulls**t and nobody from ami will talk to me not that they speak English anyway DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

POOR customer service

I just got an email from AMI which claimed I had discussed cancelling my claim! I don't recall doing so and when I tried phone AMI to discuss, my call went into a circuit of "all our customer service representatives are busy right now, please hold and we will be with you shortly". After listening to that constantly for what felt long a long time I hung up. Unbelievably POOR SERVICE.

AMI insurance is the worst insurance…

AMI insurance is the worst insurance company ever. Our new brand bike was stolen and we ourselves found it and it was taken by the AMI insurance company where it was being righted off because it was not getting repaired. But AMI didn’t pay us even the half of the amount of our bike which is really sad and whats the use of paying the insurance amount. Also even after the bike was righted off they were deducting the insurance amount. Really disappointed and hence forth never ever dealing with this company.

I left AMI insurance because of their…bad service

I left AMI insurance because of their crap service. I had a few frustrating calls to them to try and cancel my insurance that seemed like I had to jump through every hoop there was in order to do it. You just don't feel like a valued customer when your call goes to a call center overseas. Pathetic company.

AMI is deceitful and cherry picking with inflated premiums

Last year my home was insured by AMI at $800K This year its gone up to $930K! ( Its a 120 year old house...)
I spent a week trying to get my house insurance at an agreed value, not the overinflated value they placed on it, as I am able partially self insure The agreed insured value I asked for was $130 K less than the value they put on it, but the premium was going to be the same!??? That is just not honest. Anyway they would not give me an actual cost for my house, so I have gone elsewhere. If the Christchurch earthquake experience is anything to go by, no one in their right mind would have anything to do with this deceitful, lying and disreputable company. Every email respeonse was from a different person, so no I don't trust having to make a claim with this company in the future.

Worst experience out of all insurance…

Worst experience out of all insurance companies I have ever dealt with, they treated me with defensive attitude with no respect for a case that the other party willingly took full responsibility yet they seems to be fighting against me, and when I called the guy who answered call put me on hold for five minutes straight and then started assuming why I was calling before I could even talk, then keep interrupting when I was trying to talk never allowing me to finish even one sentence, and he kept repeating same thing without making any point or going anywhere trying to solve a problem. waste of time, no wonder they were cheaper, probably going to bankrupt as no one will want to ever deal with them again once you had a claim experience.

Useless 1.5hr phone call

I asked for a home quote and they were useless. Kept leaving me on hold while they talked to the underwriter and then came back and asked me the same question which i didnt know the answer to including what were the the contact details of the builder....the house was built in 1920!

Water leak and they not act

Claim for water leak above ceiling. No contact from Homehub. Called them and they asked why we did not get our "own plumber".Water turned off so no toilet,shower, cooking etc for a week. Avoid!!!!Looking for another insurer.

I had 3 policies with ami - moving them all

I had 3 policies with ami, years later when i had need for claim they accept ed my claim and got all documents and told me i would recieve money in my bank account in 3 business days. Weeks later nothing shows up in my account. When i called them they told me they should not have accepted the claim and damage to content being in transit.
You think they have your back but they will spit out some technical jargon and decline the claim.
I will take my business else where.

Very prompt and helpful

Super grateful to AMI for a smooth and prompt claims process during the very busy holiday period. I got rear ended last week (5 days pre Christmas), and my car was written off, and my online claim was accepted immediately. After having it assessed the next day, they paid my cover out within a week, and were very helpful and caring throughout. It made the stress of being without a car so much better, having one less thing to worry about. Very appreciative to everyone involved in my claim process and especially during this crazy holiday period. Thank you!

Worst company ever

This company doesn’t even deserve one star rating but that is the minimum you have to .its been over 4 months since my car accident and i haven’t heard anything from the company .they assigned a private investigator and they are keep on lying to me . I was with AMI for a long long time but strongly advise everyone to change their insurance . They just let you hang around for months and will not give you any answer. The worst company ever to deal with.

I'm a customer with 6 policies with AMI…

I'm a customer with 6 policies with AMI for the past 20yrs. I cannot stand "we are experiencing a higher than normal call volume"
Simple solution "I'll give you my mobile , you can call me when free" They don't do call backs as they are too busy. !!!!
I think its time to find another insurer.

I am so tired of this insurance…

I am so tired of this insurance company. Been with them for 20 years and the customer service has never been worse. It’s not the individual staff, they do their best but the wait times are awful and not all questions can be found online or with Amy the bot . I have to try to find another provider .

Moved from AA to AMI for my car… and I'm very disappointed. You get what you pay for.

Moved from AA to AMI for my car insurance, based on a friend's recommendation and being sick of AAs high premium, think the minimum premium is 400$ while AMI is 100$.
Anyhow I'm highly disappointed as:
1) Call waiting time is outragreous: called them 4 times now and could never talk to anyone in less than 25mins.
2) The garages they offer in Christchurch is a very short list and for some reasons, while with AAs my previous claim had been done within days, just getting a parts ordered and priced with AMI's list takes more than a week.

The main point is the call waiting time: I cannot stand ruining half a day at work, or even an hour trying to get someone on the phone. Sh* customer service says it all. Can't talk to them. Just forget it.

p.s. Again today another call: 27mins waiting time! Shameful.

They're a Big Fat NO From Me

They mucked me around for 7 months on my house claim! I literally had to email them and phone stalk them about 10 times, and then finally at my wits end had to threaten them with reviews, complaints and media coverage, before I got my payout. Many broken promises without follow-through. Very unprofessional. Extremely dissatisfied customer. Be warned, they are not a good option!

Terrible service

So slow. Car was hit and was told a write off in first week. After calling them almost everyday to get things moving and constant excuses I was finally given car pay out- 4 and a half weeks later…! Still waiting on kids carseats to be replaced almost 8 weeks on. Now have been sent an email that my next payment is due for the car that they have written off!?.. such a stressful situation for something they do everyday

WORST SERVICE WHOLE IAG/AMI.

My car was hit and run and I loggd case for claim.
I provided all details including tow company, mechanic and police complaint.
After 2 weeks investgation with everyone and again they want to access my phone call records which i didn't agree with when i took my policy.

Such a worst compay.
