Not for the first time buyer...

After agreeing to buy our first caravan from Anderson Caravan Sales, we expected it to be cleaned, in full working order which would include the awning as it was sold with a 'full awning'.

Unfortunately my wife and I spent a further 3 hours cleaning it, finding nail clippers, old bed sheets and toys from the previous owners! It didn't end there. A rusty light he said he would fix was, had not been changed - he spun me a yarn that he had ordered it and 3 weeks on it still hadn't arrived??? Kevin try eBay next time, that's where I bought one. He also hadn't managed in three weeks to get a spare key cut, fortunately Mark in LPC in Bangor sorted that in 30 seconds.

The alarm on the caravan also doesn't work, again sold as having a working alarm. Another yarn that he would speak to someone who knows about these things and get back to me, I had to call him, he told us he would send the other fob, still not arrived 4 days on and still not working.

The best bit about his awful after service and attitude is that when I told him that poles in the awning are very badly bent and the awning was ripped - he told me it had no guarantee! Surely it has to be in working order to begin with before it could even be guaranteed?! Told me 'just bring the caravan back to me for a full refund', I would have been pleased to take it back to him but my wife wanted to keep it. After speaking with a lawyer friend, he told me that by him offering the refund we had no come back and this is apparently how some cowboys operate.

On his website it states the following "Renowned for delivering extremely high standards of customer service. Anderson Caravan Sales offer an excellent and vast selection of second hand caravans which have been fully prepared and serviced by our highly experienced technicians. All pre-owned caravans are thoroughly checked to ensure the highest possible quality". As far as I am concerned he either knew the caravan and awning hadn't been checked over and cleaned out which makes him dishonest or he failed to do the job right which makes him incompetent.

Wish we had have waited and bought from LPC, Tricam or another properly run business. We were able to pay just over £100 to have broken parts replaced by LPC, Dunns Caravan repairs and eBay (with exception of the alarm, still to be seen to by someone who understands caravan alarms). I am not alone with my thoughts on Anderson Caravan Sales - see another google review. A bad business man with an awful attitude.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
