I've been a member of ANWB for two years, primarily for roadside assistance after a flat tire incident in 2022. My confidence in ANWB was shattered in December 2023 when I experienced another flat tire on the first snowy evening of the year, stranded far from civilization.

Calling ANWB for help was a nightmare. Despite providing my membership number, name, old and new addresses, and year of birth, the representative couldn't find my membership. My Dutch-speaking boyfriend and I spelled everything out clearly, but she claimed my membership was canceled and left me without any assistance.

Believing my membership had been terminated, I discarded my ANWB card. Fast forward to last week, I received an SMS demanding €92. Shocked, I tried calling ANWB, only to be on hold for two hours. I sent an email instead, but by the time I received a response, the fee had been transferred to a collection agency and increased to €137.

When I finally spoke to another representative after another long wait, I was told that I should have updated my address. However, I couldn’t access my account to do so, the same reason I couldn’t get assistance when I needed it most. I had no way of receiving the initial bill since it was sent to my old address. Being told that I had no membership, I did not anticipate further communication or charges.

This experience has been beyond frustrating. ANWB not only failed to provide the immediate assistance I needed but also unjustly billed me for a membership they said was canceled. I am now facing unnecessary collection fees and immense stress. I urge ANWB to investigate this matter and rectify their systems to prevent such mishaps from happening to others.

Avoid ANWB if you value reliable roadside assistance and transparent billing. This has been a horrendous experience, and I hope no one else has to go through what I did.

The experience was explained in advance and then proceeded to that plan. It was a generally pleasant and comfortable experience - help mainly by the man helping us (sorry, I did not get his name).The use of English added to our experience.
The only reason for not giving 5* is that the price was knocked down by €500 due to additional scratches. This may have been fair - but I felt "over a barrel" with the call from ANWB.

ANWB is a scam. Their customer support is abysmal, and they will go to great lengths to avoid paying out claims. I have never encountered an insurance company so openly fraudulent. It's better to go without insurance altogether; it'll save you money. I deeply regret subscribing to ANWB.

i have sold car there , but first they give me offer of €4350 than i was unable to visit , later i apply again they give me €3850 i one month too much difference and when i give car to €3850 bid they said airco is not working but it was working
