I've used this service previouly to rent my condo unit. This mpost recent experience was very poor. My lising was not updated from the previous year resulting in incorrect info about the unit bring posted and a very disappointed renter. No follow-up with Condo Association, pretty much had to do all of this myself. Had make multiple calls to ensure Apt People was showing my unit, they provided no value-add, just took the first months rent! Very dIssppointed, trying to contact more senior management to file compliant.

I really enjoyed looking for apartment with Mitch, and was able to find exactly what I was looking for in my budget and location. I felt he was also very considerate to my needs. However, it was hard to sometimes get in touch with the offices through the process of signing my lease, which added unnecessary stress to the situation. I would definitely recommend their services, but be prepared to be patient.

It has been almost 3 weeks I wanted to see this apartment every time I call them they give me run around from manager to those who answer the phone each timeout call they take your info and nobody calls you back I called them today told them what happened someone was suppose to show me the apartment the lady on the phone was so unprofessional she told me we take care of people who are walk in first and I told her do I have to wait another 3 weeks she said we call you and hang up ... Really ?

I found my leasing consultant to be professional, personable, and knowledgeable. Through our conversation, he obtained a clear idea of my apartment needs and budget and showed me those units which met my criteria. Based on my very positive experience, I would heartily recommend Apartment People for those seeking an apartment in the Lakeview area! You will not be disappointed.

Amazing customer service, found an apartment withing 20 min. Unbelievably fast. I highly recommend Apartment People when looking for an apartment.
My husband and I were just walking past their office and decided to come in, just to see what's available. Little did we know that we are going to find exactly what we were looking for in the area that we were looking in, in less than 30 min.

I've used the Apartment People 3 times now. Each time I've been extremely pleased. 2 of the times I ended up renting the very first apartment I saw because it fit my criteria perfectly. Say what you want about it being a free service – at the end of the day, the agent wants you to find a place that you love, and they won't push you to sign for a place you don't feel is right.

My first experience with Apartment People was Ok. i didn't rent with them but the agent was really nice. What bothered me about it was that he kept showing me apartments out of my price range and in locations i specifically told him i did not want. I still decided to give it a second try when my lease was over. This time the agent was very unprofessional, it felt like he was trying to flirt with me and it was really uncomfortable. Same thing happened, he showed me apartments out of my price range and locations i didn't want. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. I gave up on Apartment People by this point. A year later, I am moving to a bigger apartment and my roommate found a potential one. The listing agent was from apartment people and even though we didn't like that one, he said he had more options for us... GUESS WHAT? Out of our price range AGAIN. Not only that, we was extremely late to one of the appointments but kept telling us to wait for him because he was 5 min away (more like 35) in freezing cold weather. I did not mind the being late part of it, but i hated being lied to, for an apartment that OBVIOUSLY we didn't rent because it was too expensive

Rachel came highly recommended and I see why. She is diligent, honest, helpful and on point. Very glad we had her expertise to find a beautiful and affordable apartment. I definitely would use her services again for my next apt and recommend her to all my family & friends in Chicago!

The leasing agents are pretty great. They help out as much as possible when you are there. The processing department is the problem. Nobody calls you back. EVER. They always say they will but they don't and when I confronted them about it they said that my phone was out of service which was a bold face lie. Processing is NOT on top of it and they don't work as hard as the agents. They messed up an opportunity of signing a lease by not being detail oriented with my paperwork. I got my first apartment years ago from them with no credit, underage with a co signer and they were fantastic. They have definitely dropped the ball since then.

I appreciated my agents honesty and tremendous support during this process. It was a great experience!

This is going to be a long one. The initial experience was good because of the ease of appointment. The agent showed few places around however lacked the detail knowledge. Eventually I was down to choosing between their place and another and chose theirs because of parking space availability. 1. Now when the lease is signed and I inquired about the parking space, I was told there is none available (initially I was told the unit comes with one).
2. They sent outdated paperwork with outdated payment information. Once I signed the lease, I received paper from the condo people informing that its incomplete. So now I had more payments to make, leave aside the inconvenience of sending documents again (thankfully I didn't have to get the money order made again). Had I known all the details, I would have chosen the other place.
3. Lastly, because of the delay in processing the forms by condo (likely because of the delay caused old forms and new ones being sent later), the move in time slot was odd for me especially as I was coming from out of town. I had already requested to collect the unit keys a day before and the AP were ok with it. Now on the day of arrival, I am driving my uhaul and running late. I called the office beforehand expecting the delay to wait for 5-10 minutes after their office hours so I could collect the keys or if someone could come over to the condo area where I would be parking the Uhaul given the crazy traffic around the Apartment people''s office, they bluntly refused, period. So Now I am stranded in Chicago waiting to find a place to live and collect my apartment keys next morning right at the time of the limited move in slot. This was not considerate of them. I had even requested if they could hand over the keys to the condo people and they could give it to me after proper verification, again refused citing that they cant give keys like that to condo people which is odd as when I was shown the place, the keys were with the doorman (given to him by the Apartment people only).

Bottom Line, once they get the money on signing lease, their work is done and they don't care. Hoping it is just a few of them and not every one in the office. But I didn't have a good experience at all. This won't matter to them but thought everyone else coming in should be well aware of the negative side of the spectrum too.

Apartment People were great to work with! The girl that took me around showed me a bunch of neighborhoods and was very knowledgeable about the area. I was moving from out of state so she really took the time to highlight great stores, bars and cafes in each place. I would definitely use them again.

John was readily available, and showed me apartments that met my criteria. Very helpful.

My experience working with Apartment People in looking for a rental was wholly positive and excellent. Everyone I worked with was courteous and professional, working their best to show me a vast array of apartments that fit my criteria as well as being good advocates for me when it came time to apply (and be approved for!) my new home.

Five star rating! The landlord did not prepare the APT and it is not in a livable condition with safety issues. Ilene, the CEO and her staff are very considerate and supportive to our situation. They tried to help us on finding the 2nd APT, but they do not have one for us at that time. Since we need an APT urgently, so we find another APT by ourselves. But Illene was very considerate and keep everything she said. Apartment People fully returned the 1-month rent held by them, this is very nice of them. Our lawyer also helped us to get the deposit back. I want to say thank you and would recommend Apartment People for my friends!

We were looking for an apartment since July with no luck at all. We ended up trying the apartment people in November and found a place the first day. John was amazing and extremely helpful and as of December 1 my family and I love our new place. Thank you John and thank you Apartment People!

Apartment People are considerate, caring, and quite knowledgeable. We learned about new areas to live in, the pros and cons of different areas and management companies, and where to find the best value. I highly recommend AP.

Kara was very helpful. She understood exactly what I wanted and showed me apartments that perfectly suited me. She made the process very quick and easy.
