Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 531 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the payment systems confusing and difficult to use, often leading to unexpected fines for parking or drop-offs. People frequently reported issues with unclear signage regarding payment procedures and pricing, especially at airport locations, resulting in charges they were unaware of. The prices were often considered excessive, with many feeling that the company prioritizes collecting fines over facilitating straightforward payment for services. Reviewers also experienced significant frustration with customer service, describing it as unhelpful and difficult to reach, particularly when trying to resolve payment discrepancies or appeal fines. Some people mentioned that payment machines were frequently out of order, forcing them to use complicated online systems, and the short payment windows often led to hefty fines for minor delays. However, a few other people also felt that some customer service agents were helpful and understanding in resolving complex issues.

Fair

Twice I paid late for parking as I was in a rush.
Once I phoned them and they were SUPER helpful and once I appealed the fine and they cancelled.
They seem to me a very fair company.

Bought and moved into a new property…

Bought and moved into a new property where apcoa managed the car park, I got my car clamped even though I paid the parking in the service fees to the management company and parked in my designated spot. Service was horrendous, I'm half tempted to break the clamp myself as I've a flight in 2 days and I need the car.

Unfortunately there isn’t a minus option for star rating. The App is useless the site is useless. I shudder when having to park using APCOA- Dreadful. Trying to login and change password almost every time for non-recognition. It’s awful!!!!

Abdication of responsibilty - Apcoa processing failure results in fine for driver

Parked at Reading station. Spent over 35 minutes trying to connect to the available EV chargers and failing to do so due to issues with the Apcoa application and the remote trigger to initiate charge. To be clear, my bank received the payment processing over 20 times!! I tried multiple charger units and both the QR code link to the website and the app. At the point that I was late for my train, I abandoned the effort unwittingly leaving my car in the EV bay. Despite my detailed appeal for the penalty charge levied to me, Apcoa accept no responsibility for the poor quality of their EV charge service and their part in this issue. Reading station is not a reliable or value EV charging point - avoid at all costs!

Greedy company. They created the perfect system to make sure they make the most money

Honestly be careful with this one greedy ass company. Make sure you pay as soon as you park just in case. Because if life gets busy and you forget for a while, then it will be to late and you’ll end up paying £100 fine 💁🏻‍♀️
I’ve drop off my husband in east midland airport, first time there, never realised there was such a strict time to pay. When I went online to pay, it was to late. Tried to contact them to try to pay without success. Received a fine and contested it, explained the situation and said I was more than happy to pay the £5 for the quick drop off as I tried to… no no noooo. They didn’t accept it and I must pay the £100, what a great way to make money and take advantage of honest people 💁🏻‍♀️

Extremely POOR customer service

Extremely POOR customer service. I was over charged for parking on New Years Eve (2025/2026) and I am still waiting for my refund almost 2 months later! This is despite confirmation from APCOA that I was over charged and also a month after submitting my card details auto them. Utterly useless company based on my experience. AVOID!

We turned up today

We turned up today , there are two machines for a 450 space car park but machines were out of order, and there was no wifi signal and they have just raised the fee by nearly 50%. We spoke to the station staff and they said that Apcoa give out a lot of penalty tickets and they get a lot of complaints - so why don’t they kick Apcoa out then ? I am driving from now on, In my experience this company is about as greedy and vicious as it gets. Basically what they do is nothing more than legalized opportunistic thievery. Nothing says it more than the added “convenience” fee if you decided to pay on line.

Total scam

Total scam. The exit sign at Allum showed my plate and 'Free of Charge,' yet I still received a paper invoice with a 60 SEK fee. The app never showed an active session, making it impossible to pay on-site. This feels like a predatory way to force invoice fees on customers. To make matters worse, their customer service is incredibly rude and unprofessional. They aren't there to help, only to collect fees.
Avoid APCOA if you can.

Svindelfirna

I payed a parking ticket ar AUH when I got home I now received an additional bill for payong 300% more for the same parking time for exactly the sme parking place and time. With 300% extra I guess that we all could make a company prosper.
What a scam.

The app is intentionally bad

The app is bad. It didn't register my parking and I got clamped later. When I appealed with evidence, they replied with usual scripted response.
By reading other reviews, it seems like they are aware of this issue and not fixing it as works in their favour. The call centre agent was also aware of this issue but said, call us to make a payment next time.
This is a company built on scamming people for money and wasted time with clamping.

We paid for parking at Warwick Uni but made a tiny mistake

We paid for parking at Warwick Uni Unfortunately we forgot to input the exact car reg properly as we were struggling with the website and rushing a little. A few weeks later we get a parking ticket. Spoke to the customer service person who was actually helpful, explained that we’d paid but imputed the wrong dets by mistake. She reassured us and said we’d probably be ok, just to write down exactly what happened, show our receipts etc. Did all this, proof of purchase and still charged £20. So we paid for a ticket as necessary, provided proof but not good enough. Thanks APOCA. Certainly not a cynical money grubbing business are we.

Massive scam

Massive scam, if you forget to pay before the next day at mid night they charge you a £100 fine. Absolutely ridiculous to not offer any onsight alternative and to have such a short window. Clearly shows that all they care about is stealing as much money from visitors as possible!

Least user friendly system I have ever encountered

Unbelievable difficult system. App kept crashing and website was difficult to use. Inconvenient renewal times. Parking ran out at 2:30am and the only option was to pay for 2 extra days of parking despite only needing 5 extra hours.
Potentially the least user friendly system I have ever encountered.

the app is useless

the app is useless, 3 different occasions i have tried to pay in a station car park ,missed a train as all the different ways ii tried to pay it declined my card. we used 3 different cards between 2 of us ..all declined i have more than £6.50. I have removed the app and changed the card after the first time it happened, it happened again and again. After waiting for quite a while for someone to answer the phone, i did speak to an english lady who was helpful as helpful as she could be, that is the only thing i would give a star for. It is like they have made it as difficult as possible to park.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID
We paid online only to find NO SPACE when we got there and the carpark was being advertised as ‘pay on the day’…… so of course all spaces had been bought.
We called…… we got someone disinterested on the end of the line who told us to email. Oh yes we will…… and will be telling the world NOT to use this abominable excuse for a company. We should have been refunded immediately……. how absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.
COWBOYS would be a compliment!!!!
