Works we BUT:

It works well BUT: THIS COMPANY SCAMS YOU

They sell perpetual licenses, and after a couple years they let the serial expire to sell the latest version.
This is the error message I received:

"Sorry...
Your registration code RMCUFVE 159929582764 1xx-1xxx for Replay Media Catcher has expired. In order to keep using the latest version we suggest that you upgrade your license."

So I contacted the support. I received an answer from from Applian LLC with the reply that my version was out of date. I told them that it still works fine for me and I did not need an upgrade, if it eventually did not meet my needs I would buy the upgrade.

I was told that whenever I opened it it would check on their system and not allow me to use it.

I told them that nowhere on their site did it indicate that I was buying a time limited bit of software, This was ignored.

I've found a free bit of software that does what I need so I do not need them anymore.

My recommendation:
DO NOT BUY REPLAY MEDIA CAPTURE.

This is the error message I received:

"Sorry...
Your registration code RCAT1*************H-1295 for Replay Media Catcher has expired. In order to keep using the latest version we suggest that you upgrade your license."

I did not update the system, and I did not make any system changes. Same error message after uninstalling rebooting and reinstalling.

So I contacted the support.
I received an answer from a person "Thomas" from Applian LLC with a stupid standard answer. They denied any support - although everything points to the fact that they caused the issue.

My recommendation:
DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM APPLIAN NOR JAKSTA.

Poor cybersecurity - userid and Passwords sent in plain text

When an update/upgrade of the Applian suite was purchased, Applian sent an e-mail with the new license codes and ......(as hard as it is to believe in today's world) .... my user id and plain text password "to retrieve your license key at any time". Thank goodness I don't use the same userid and password between any accounts.

Open e-mail is like a post card sent in the mail and can be read at every point where it is touched. You can be sure that there are compromised relays that will easily flag and capture such information automatically and then start credential stuffing at the big name sites.

It is extremely bad form for a company to sent such information via e-mail. Although I have upgraded from time to time over many years, I will hesitate to do so again in the future if this is what the company thinks is acceptable security. Makes me wonder if the information is already unencrypted at their end and available for easy download/viewing by their staff and any other actor that gets into their network.

If you have an account, make sure it is unique and that you don't care who knows the userid and password.

VERY Satisfied

I have been using some of the Applian Suite for well over a decade. I say some because I'm in Australia and some of their suite doesn't work here.
Sure - some glitches, but overall I am 100% satisfied and highly recommend.
And YES, they do have (difficult to reach) customer service with HUMANS - American humans.
And YES, they do constantly update - with automatic tinkering.

Upgrade

I have not received any order confirmation or codes from Applian, but my money via American Express has been taken, no reply from their so called help desk. I am most disappointed with this company
They tell me they cannot find any transaction for this order, please just refund the money that I paid you.

I got an email that said "Save 75% and…

I got an email that said "Save 75% and buy NetOptimizer for just $9.95" so I went into that, but by the time the addons were added and I picked a slightly higher option they wanted to bill me over AUD $100, and that's after I'd declined a further $27 or so USD (would've been around another AUD $50) for extra special offers that were tacked on without me asking. So no thanks. I'm in Australia. If they're going to advertise here they should tell me the price is not in Aussie dollars and NOT wait til it gets to the fine print in the checkout. If they're going to advertise something for ten bucks, the price at the checkout shouldn't be more than that unless I add it on myself, not them (I'm aware this is common practice but it really really grates with me). In the end I was able to get the thing for the advertised USD $9.95 which worked out at AUD $16.69 today, by deselecting everythink. But then I was billed by a mob called "Webminds"... not Applian (which again I know is kind of common practice but it still grates when the seller is not the biller - I have no reason to trust a third party and wasn't asked if I wanted to trust them before my details were sent there, but it's probably buried in the fine print somewhere, sigh!).

Further, the "free" Free Shields Up ebook link in the confirmation email was so free it decided not to come to me. Clicking on the download link in the confirmation email got me to a Webminds web page that said: "This page doesn't seem to exist. It looks like the link pointing here was faulty. Maybe try searching?"

As for the settings (I haven't activated it yet) the Metered Connections setting in the Advanced Mode has checkboxes for 3G and 4G but there's no entry for 5G.

When I click on the Optimize button for an individual option in the advanced mode, I get a popup that tells me "Only manual adjustments of the first two options allowed in Trial mode". Hey I'm only clicking ONE option, and that's the top one "Internet connection speed". So even the trial appears to be broken.

And the thing doesn't tell me what the current settings are before it offers to change it to something else and it doesn't tell me what it wants to change it to either, or so it seems. So it seems you have to "trust" them that they do "something", right? Really, I'd like to know WHAT they're doing to my computer before they go ahead and do it.

Maybe this special isn't so special? At this time I don't think I'll bother activating it. I'll just uninstall it. But that's just me. If you wanna try for yourself, good luck to you. I'm not saying it doesn't work. I'm just saying that it's not for me.
