Just awful

Just awful! Avoid at all costs. It took two months for my order of a new oven and gas hob to be fulfilled. Their customer service seems to be completely broken. Two important points however. Firstly, they seem to have outsourced delivery and installation in the UK to Kaboodle who were excellent. Secondly, there seems to be some confusion about the name - to be clear, the company I'm complaining about trades in the UK as Appliances Direct, is a subsidiary of BuyitDirect Group.

Poor Delivery service not arrived yet

We were given a fixed delivery date for a new american style fridge/freezer from Appliance Direct. On the day of the delivery we were sent a text telling us to empty the fridge, defrost and dry it which we did, having to despose of most of our food as we couldnt keep it cold or frozen. They then texted at 9.10pm that the order had been delayed and they would send us another date. When I rang customer service they have now given us a date for the 2nd september but couldn't guarantee it would actually arrive on that date. We hope the appliance works better than their delivery service!!!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service . No communication about the cooker I ordered. After repeatedly phoning I was finally told the didn't actually have a stock of the cooker I ordered! I was told they were getting some in and I would be contacted to check the wiring, sockets etc were definitely suitable as I booked installation. Nothing. I phoned again a few days later and lady I spoke to put my call on hold twice while she tried to track my order. Then said she would escalate the issue and I would be phoned back within 2 hours. No phone call. I phoned after that to be told the date had been changed and I should have got an email. Didn't. The communication with them is terrible. The have my money and are not delivering my order. End result today is someone will phone me back tomorrow about the order/ delivery!

Very poor service

Never buy from Appliances Direct

We ordered a chest freezer to replace ours. It should have been delivered on Thursday 16th November 2023. Late in the afternoon we received a text to say the van had broken down and to ring to rebook delivery. Sam was anything but helpful. He refused to hire a replacement van and booked the delivery in for the following Monday, inspite of the fact that we had food thawing as we spoke. He did refund delivery charge. The freezer was finally delivered at 17.30 on the following Monday. Including defrost time for the old freezer, we were left without freezer storage for our food for 6 days. We have 2 steps down to where we keep the freezer. If it had been delivered on the original date our son would have helped. We are both in our 70's and, as our son travelled abroad before the freezer was delivered, we had to manhandle the freezer ourselves. We completed the company survey but heard nothing.

Absolutely terrible customer service

Absolutely terrible customer service.
Paid extra for a dehumidifier that had a hepa and carbon filter included but they wasn’t in the box. 5 phone calls later and 3 promises of the filters being sent, still nothing received but the filters are still available to buy on the website.
Personally I won’t be using this company again.

I gave a wrong item review.

I gave a review and I mistakenly wrote about the wrong product and wrong company! This is what I should’ve reviewed; a Meaco dehumidifier. It is brilliant and arrived within 2days of ordering. It is well made and instructions are very good (unusual nowadays). I am staggered at how much water is in the tank after just a few hours of using in our house.

AVOID

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
i HAVE BEEN GIVEN SO MANY DELIVERY DATES BY THIS COMPANY i AM SICK TO DEATH OF THEM.
MY DAUGHTER HAS A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD BUT THEY DO NOT GIVE A DAM.
LYNSEY HIGGINS (CUSTOMER SRRVICE) HAD ALL THE INFORMATION IN FRONT OF HER AND PROMISED ME FAITHFULLY THAT THE COOKER WOULD BE DELIVERED TODAY 22/09/22. I HAVE NOW BEEN CONTACTED BY A COMPANY CALLED KABOODLE WHO SAID THEY CANNOT DELIVER IT UNTILL THE 4TH OF OCTOBER AT THE EARLIEST.

Do not buy anything from this company
Where do I start, over the past three years I have spent over £13,000 with Aircon direct/appliance direct.Which is a significant amount of money.
The latest purchase I made was an air-conditioning unit Super Slim 24000 BTU 7.1kW Toshiba
Item code: eiQ-SSRFC24K in October 2021.
This was my sixth air-conditioning unit I have purchased from Aircon direct / appliance direct.
This was my six air-conditioning unit I have bought from them.
It was delivered with a faulty condensing unit but never worked, but only discovered once installed by a qualified Air Conditioning installer (when purchasing the unit you have to provide the company with the installers registration documents whom is installing the air-conditioning unit, which was supplied at the time of purchase and installed by the very same engineer / this is the same engineer whom in stalled the last five air-conditioning units, all of which work)
After spending many hours on the phone to a con direct/appliance direct and sending countless emails and photographs I have been sent out to circuit boards that are not compatible with my machines they are for completely different models. Then each time one of these incompatible parts have been sent out, I have called out an engineer to install them only to be told that The parts are incompatible. So I have had to call out an engineer A couple of times to install The PCB boards (which are incompatible) which has cost me over £700 in engineer bills only to find out that they had been completely incompetent and sent out parts for a completely different model.
I am now being told that my air-conditioning unit is not warranted at all as they are asking for a commissions certificate. I cannot get hold of the original engineer who installed the air-conditioning unit due to Brexit , And the engineer no longer being in the UK or contactable.
Can I remind you that I was asked for the engineers certification at the time of purchase which I had supplied.
I am so upset by the way I have been treated after being a loyal customer who has spent a lot of money over £13,000 over the last three years, furthermore incompetence of this company is absolutely shocking.
Do not use this company I cannot stress enough pay a little bit more money and go to a reputable company such as John Lewis!

I feel so cheated and hard done by and dealt with so unprofessionally and sold such an piece of rubbish by Aircon direct/appliance direct I will be putting this out on my daughters social media (she has over 5 million followers in the UK) so everyone is going to hear about what a outrageous substandard service you offer!
And I will be repeatedly bombarding truss pilot with reviews on this company and I will be putting it out on social media repeatedly- until this matter is resolved.
All I want is an air-conditioning unit that works this has been going on since October 2021.

Bought a BBQ which was delivered 2 days…

Bought a BBQ which was delivered 2 days later and then discovered the BBQ had been reduced by £20 in that time.

I contacted them and asked if they would refund me the £20 which they did!

The lady I dealt with was Kristine and she was very helpful.

Cant say fairer than that.

Okay

To be fair, I was kept updated throughout but my order did take a significant time to arrive and the packaging was damaged when it did.
Would I use again, yes but I might not wait as long

Kentucky 4 burner barbeque

I bought a Kentucky 4 burner barbeque. The quality is really good, although it does take a while to build. The cast iron cooking grid was broken, but a replacement was sent out very quickly and without question, so you get five stars for customer service.

Appliance direct total lack of responsibility

I ordered several kItchen appliances from this company on 27/09/2021. I paid for and and stipulated the date of 21/10/2021 for delivery as per their website. They delivered 2 of the items on the 29/09/21 nearly a month earlier than I wanted. I then started being bombarded with phone calls from their distribution agent demanding I accept earlier delivery for the rest of the items with threats of cancellation if I didn't. Each time these calls occurred, and there were many, I emailed both appliance direct and the distributor. The items they wanted to deliver were very large and I had no where to put them until 21/10. Appliance Direct kept apologizing and stating they had contacted the distributor and everything was set for the 21/10. Yet every day I got the calls from the distributor Arrow XL with the same demands and threats. ArrowXL also claimed they hadn't been contacted by appliance direct and that their contract didn't accept delivery dates outside a 14 day schedule. Appliance direct sent the same apologies but sorted nothing. I had to cancel the whole order. Now, having twice been given dates for collection of the 2 delivered items which they have failed to make either collection (2 days off work for me and they didn't bother to turn up) they refuse to refund my money until these 2 items are picked up, but claim they can't give me a specific time or even day when they will collect the items just assuming I am going to take another day off work as, and whenever they
dictate. I can't purchase these items from elsewhere until I have my refund.
Digraceful, dishonest and thoroughly disreputable.

No Delivery

placed order over phone due to web site not accepting order, turns out the order was taken and duplicated.
received email to confirm duplicated and cancelled, received further email to confirm payment, the another email to confirm goods despatched and will be with me following day. what i never received was an mail the day i was supposed to receive my delivery advising me my £1000.00 worth of goods have gone missing, i only found this out when i chased the delivery up, I now have to wait another 72 hours before I will be notified when when I will receive my goods, when what appliance direct should of offered is to resend the goods from stock on a next day delivery so the customer who paid for a next day delivery does not have to wait over 120 hour for a delivery, Poor Really Poor service.

Lmao, pathetic experience

Of course I couldn't expect any less from a scam company like the direct group.
Used my coupon to get a toaster and it came home completely destroyed, no protection at all, very very bad service.

I hate this company, every single second spent even thinking about them is wasted.

Do not buy, they have super high price, bad shipping service (20 pound outside of england? ridicoulus) and 0 customer service.

I hope they go out of business as soon as possible

Worst attitude and service I’ve seen

Thought I’ll get an aircon with install this summer and found that on their web it says 15% off vat when buying and ordering install from them . Thought it’s great and send a message requesting a quote , days later I still
Have no quotes apart from questioning me if property is mine ?! Serious ?
That’s the most stupid thing I’ve ever seen asking if property is mine?!
And yet I still haven’t received a quote , person sending messages me on emails is not even introducing himself .
Having that at trying to get a quote honestly already puts me off , reading comments here are giving impression that I’m actually doing right thing to avoid this company.

All starts from customer service .bad customer service is not going to do any good

So just as a warning, avoid if you appreciate your time and quality of customer service and probably reliability of things as reading here many have issues .

Personally I am very disappointed and hope this person who is answering email will be changed for more appropriate candidates able to give constructive answers and in timely manner .
