I cannot rate this company highly…

I cannot rate this company highly enough, I needed a chest freezer urgently and managed to get one delivered next day, which given we are in the midst of the corona virus crisis was amazing. Communication was excellent, I was given a 2hr time window, I received a text message further confirming this. The delivery driver was extremely helpful and mindful of the social distancing need. First class all round!

Appalling company

Appalling company, customer service is very very slow, immediately you get their attention they refer you to the manufacturer. In our case this was Montpellier who were worse. Please save yourself a lot of pain and buy from Currys, Argos or John Lewis where you will receive a decent level of customer service and respect.

No working washine machine for 3 days and no resolution forthcoming

Paid for the washing machine to be installed. First wash, the washing machine started moving across the room. Spent hours Googling and levelling it only to discover that they'd left the transit bolts in. After trying various ways to get in touch, them losing photos submitted online etc, I was promised a call back at a certain time and date. It never happened. I rang back several times and the only option was to request a call back. Hours later still nothing. So 3 days in, I have an unusable washing machine, no way of getting in touch let alone knowing what my options are, and can't buy from elsewhere until I get a refund at least. Meanwhile all the washing from 2 young kids are piling up.

Avoid - poor service and delayed delivery

Avoid. Ordered an item for £800+ (air-conditioning unit). Was charged £20 for delivery. To arrive on a specific date. Got a call from courier company to inform me item delayed from appliance direct warehouse. No correspondence received from appliance direct so had to contact them by email, inadequate response from email, just a generic response sent from their customer service. Ended up having to call them. They are still trying to resolve the issue. Still not received my item or a new delivery date - extremely inefficient. They have refunded my delivery but still not received my item.

For being the worst company I've ever dealt with

Before you read the five stars. For fast delivery brilliant product can't fault them ???? The most important thing is after care ??? We are all the same it's like a child at Christmas when it arrives can't wait to write review on firm's like APPLIANCES DIRECT brilliant tracked it all the way!!! Use them again !!!! If you read one review let it be this one then .... Go to the high Street ... Argos , asda , Curry's PC world , any of them !!!! Just so long as you can go to to the customer service desk and sort your problems... Opened 55" TV to find it broken £400 ... Rung APPLIANCES DIRECT quoted consumer rights 2015 you basically have thirty days to sort your problems !!!! Appliances direct left it days before emails got back or they were out of the office... After 30 days got in contact to say no case to answer !!! In fact three months later....New exactly what they were doing !!!!!!!!!!! Because my sixteen year old son signed for it at the door like you would any package .... But found out wonce you've signed couier insurance is void appliances direct is responsible so they won't give an inch ..... Lost £400 for not going to high Street were it would be straight forward swap !!! They won't talk on the phone so when you've got aproblem it's your problem no to talk to so ( THEY CAN CHERRY PICK THE MINOR PROBLEMS TO KEEP FIVE STARS UP HAVE A LOOK AND YOU WILL SEE what there customer service desk are dealing with then look at the one star and you will see.... That the expensive PROBLEMS aren't dealt with it insults your intelligence..... O there great until you have to deal with the after care and while the insurance is in the courier's hand's but when it gets to them O M G . THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE LESSON TO LEARN £400 so before you deal with this company or any other that says direct at the end of it go straight to one star and read after care reviews you won't use these .........

Terrible - Avoid!

Ordered an integrated tumble dryer for my new kitchen. Arranged delivery so my fitter could put into place. When I got home, I found they had delivered a non integrated 'compact' tumble dryer - a totally different model to what I paid for & half the price of the one I ordered. On the positive, they admitted their error when I called, but couldn't supply what I'd ordered and then took a week to collect the incorrect one. To top it off, I am still awaiting a refund which they won't supply until they receive the returned item. That was 4 days ago and I had to spend out again with another company to get a tumble dryer. I asked for a complaint to be raised, yet they have ignored that request. DO NOT GO NEAR THEM

Useless Warranty

I purchased a robotic vacuum cleaner February 2015, the salesman persuaded me to take out a lifetime warranty which costs £2.99 each month, I have paid this by direct debit since February 2015. The vacuum stopped working 2 months ago and I tried to contact UK Warranties for 4 weeks without success until I posted the problem on this website. I was then contacted and eventually 2 men working for DBS Service Centre collected the vacuum 23/9/2016 but told me they had never seen a robotic vacuum before! I was told the noise coming from the vacuum sounded like the motor was gone. The vacuum was returned 6/10/2016 covered in a sticky glue on top and underneath, I was told it must have been where stickers had been put onto it. The man who returned it said it had been "cleaned" but vacuum was in a worse condition than before they took it away and still not working! After numerous phone calls and emails, I sent photos and video of the vacuum, I said under the Consumers Rights Act if an attempt at repair had failed I have the right to reject the goods for a full refund, nothing has been done within a reasonable time and because I have not had a vacuum for 2 months it has caused a significant inconvenience. I said I wanted a new vacuum as the terms of the warranty state. I am still without a vacuum and no reply to my request. The warranty is useless, I have paid a lot of money for nothing. I will now have to claim on my credit card.

Worse customer experience ever!

I always give praise for good service and I don't see myself as a perpetual moaner . I shall outline my experience with appliancesdirect and you can make up your own opinion:

1. Ordered kitchen product and they confirmed delivery and installation on Sunday - failed to turn up ( would have given 5 stars )
2. Spoke to knowhow ( who appliance directs contract with for installations at £159) couldn't process the consignment number at contact centre. Spoke to local depot and agreed delivery Wednesday - failed to turn up lost one day's pay. Appliance direct gave me a derisory £9 delivery refund
3. Called applicancedirect yet again on premium line - promised delivery on Saturday and that they would call me to confirm time range - guess what? They didn't call. Knowhow didn't sms me either ( which they do for Curry's / PC World delivery deliveries) and they didn't turn up.
4. Apparently, they have lost the item in the logisitics chain - so nobody really knows where it is?
5. Now chasing refund - which is not as straightforward from other reviews.

PS I did find some of their contact staff meaningful and helpful but ultimately ineffective in resolving poor service.

Worst company I have ever dealt with

I brought a cooker, it arrived with no leads, when questioned customer services about this I was told to get an electrician. After several emails they said I could return it at cost to myself and to Leeds, I am in London. I have never dealt with a company with such low standards. Avoid this company at all costs. By doing this's out will actually save yourself both money and stress.

Worst company I have ever bought from!

Terrible service. Ordered cooker hood on 13 March and when installers arrived the hood was damaged so it had to be reordered. Delivery set again for 14 April, waited all day and noone turned up despite and text received day before confirming 4 hour window. Called Customer service who found out that the product again was faulty hence failure to deliver - but no one had advised me so I wasted TWO DAYS waiting for failed installation. Requested full refund 16 April, received email about credit card refund on 6 May for INCORRECT amount (too little) - so having to write in AGAIN to request this. This is beyond a joke! I have never experienced such poor service EVER. I have wasted so much time with this company. I wished I had checked Trust pilot before I ordered.
I checked Trust pilot and re ordered hood via AO.com - cost less and was delivered on time within 48 hours. ALSO they give a £70 cash back for the old hood so altogether much cheaper!

Damaged Goods and No Refund, Damaged My Property

Will never use this company again, delivered my goods £700.00 Fridge freezer, goods delivered damaged, scratched and dented. 4 Days later in still awaiting my refund as the driver has 'lost the fridge freezer'!!! Each day im advised by the customer service team that my money will be in my account and a confirmation email will be sent! Still no money refunded. To top it off when i refused the damaged goods the driver dropped the item on my flooring, splitting the vinyl and dropping it again on the decking pulling up the boards. 4 Days later and constaint calls and emails to appliance direct and we are getting nowhere. We have a temp small fridge which we had to buy from Currys, a hole in my kitchen flooring and splinters and raised wood on our decking. Not suitable when you have a small child in the house. Shocking service and will never us again.

Dreadful!

My dishwasher finally arrived, however, as soon as the installation guys walked through the door they started looking for reasons NOT to complete the installation, all of them illogical.

Ultimately, they refused to either install or leave the dishwasher. When I complained and requested a full refund I was told I'd be charged £139 for a failed delivery, WHY?

I complained again and was told to wait for a reply by close of business today. It's 10pm, I haven't heard anything.

These are only the highlights, there are many more customer service issue that have left me wanting to tear my hair out over the last four week. PLEASE SHOP ELSEWHERE!

Sold me a discontinued item, after three weeks of promises still no appliance and no refund.

We ordered two items from Appliance Direct in Melbourne, FL on 1-17-14 that i paid cash in full for one of which has yet to be received over three weeks from the time i placed the order and I am having trouble getting my money back.

My additional concerns are as follows:

When I mentioned my needs and my budget to the sales representative he recommended something outside of my budget. He was considering a further discount while he googled the item and stated "Well, we beat Best Buy's Price by $300 so I don't have to offer you a bigger discount". He laughed out loud about this.

I never received a call any of the 7 times my order was supposed to arrive. I have yet to receive a call from anyone when they say they will call.

On Monday the 27th i went in to the store and asked the GSM if we could verify my items were on the truck. He looked me square in the eye and said "i already checked and it is on the truck" and that it would arrive the following day between 3-7pm and they would call me.

On 1-29-14, I had to exchange the hood (my error, wrong size) and a refund is due of which will be paid in the form of a check and was told it is in the mail. I paid cash I expect cash not a check in the mail. The check was not in the mail and was not cut until 2-4-14 and delivered by The GSM to my house on 2-5-14.

On 2-5-14 I am now told the microwave oven originally sold to me was on back order and I was not informed and at some point after I ordered it it had been discontinued and i still was being told it was on the truck. I agreed to order a different one with a difference of over $300 to my benefit that would arrive "around the 6th or the 7th of February". I expressed i wished the refund in cash. It is 2-8-14, no call, no merchandise.

I visited the store to request all my orders be cancelled and asked about my refund. It has not been processed and I was told it May be processed on Monday 2-10-14.

The price of this latest microwave oven was $20 over the retail. This is false advertisement "If you paid retail you paid too much!". The sales rep was quick to verify he didn't "have to give a bigger discount" and the GSM offered me an overpriced unit.

The GSM has lied to me about the merchandise being on the truck and failed to ever notify me when the trucks arrive if my merchandise is in let alone return my calls. He did return one call after I sent an email complaint to the company.

The Manager of Operations called me on 2-3-14 regarding my email on 1-30-14 with the above mentioned complaints. She spoke to me, stated she would look into it, left a message later that same night stating she had further investigation to perform and has not called back. I also expressed to her that i expected a cash refund and wanted to speak to the owner to no avail.

I have taken time off work several times to be available after my parts were scheduled to arrive and scheduled a handy-man to install. We have both missed out on work and income. Who can afford that? This purchase has literally cost me money and I have nothing to show for it, not even the money I put down.

In summary I see this as a false advertisement, customer service and refund issues and was forced to place a complaint with the BBB.
