Honest and upfront with pricing and rules and regulations. Quick to respond to my enquiry and fit in the works required in a tight timeframe.
We were going to use Arbtech for a bat survey to help us with getting planning permission for a house we are hoping to build. They sent a staff member out to visit us. She was at our house for no longer then 20 minutes. She put her head through the loft hatch, shone a torch and then went to leave. Knowing the company was charging us over £500 for this visit and a report to follow up I asked what actually just happened. The staff member told me at this point to not use Arbtech as they will then go on to charge us £3000 more for them to come back to complete the survey that we needed. I was so glad she told me as it made us find another local lady who did the job for £700 in total. Including the initial survey and therefore got us the planning permission. A year later after no written letter, voicemail or warning (only via an old email address we no longer use) they sent us to the solicitors to force us to pay for their 20minute visit and a report which only told us we needed another visit which would cost us £3000. We have been charged a additional £218.37 in solicitor fees, £745.17 in total. To us this is just day light robbery and takes advantage of people who find themselves in an already difficult situation. I feel sick to the stomach to of had to pay this company for absolutely nothing. Even their own staff warns you about them!!!! DO NOT USE.

Prompt response to initial request and site visit followed imminently with the report issued well within the timeframe. Fantastic, would definitely use again!
Jo and her team were really professional and timely. A bliss to deal with.
Merry was on time professional and really knew her stuff . Highly recommend
Quick response and quick turnaround. Annabel the specialist we dealt with was excellent, responsive and highly knowledgeable
The client signed up to a 4-6 week delivery of both a PEA and BNG report. It took over 4 months for both reports to be completed. Consultant didn't listen to comments or instructions, failed to understand that it was associated with an appeal process and the final report refers to the wrong policy basis. Given time delays to get an appeal in, the refusal to release draft reports before the client made payment resulted in insufficient time to get amendments done.
Will avoid using again.
Rather than ranting and raving about Arbtech, I will simply state our experience, and you can make your own judgement as to why I left a 1 star review.
1) We paid a premium for a fast report. Unfortunately our contact at Arbtech was ill (completely understandable) but the company had no one to take over, and therefore it was weeks late.
2) Arbtech eventually provided a report to our planning officer which, as part of the report said we must provide a "precautionary working method statement". Like most people we didn't know what this was, but unfortunately Arbtech also didn't seem to understand what they had requested, and were therefore unable to provide it. Surely you should only put things in your report if you understand what they are?
3) Whilst communicating with a member of staff at Arbtech about the issues we had faced, we were told "I only like bats, I do not like people". It was mildly threatening and this attitude permeated every aspect of the way they treat their customers.
4) When making what we considered to be completely legitimate complaints, we were told that we were being "threatening" and that Arbtech would no longer deal with us. This is obviously only my opinion, but from my perspective all our complaints were fair, and deserved to be at least listened to.
Anyway, I will leave you to make your own opinion as to whether this was reasonable behaviour for a company, and if you think it is worth working with them.
