people think use this absolute garbage…

People thinking of using this absolute garbage of a company, don’t do it! I’ve given them £1500 over 6 years ago, their customer service team promise you the full service, they say they have debt collectors on the ground and court orders waiting to go, this is rubbish! They did nothing in Covid time for 2 years. No communication from them means you have to contact them all the time, they change your case handler regularly to make it more difficult to contact them. I received £183 after 2 years of trying to recuperate £10k+. They put a minimum funds release of £350 so you won’t get anything until you reach that threshold every time.
When I spoke with them to close the case they halved the balance on account, Jack sharples blocked me because they don’t understand I’m frustrated and upset with their poor attempts of doing what I’ve paid them to do in 2019. Nothing short of theives, so please don’t use this company. Trading standards will soon catch up with them but it’s the people that have already lost so much that pay an even bigger price. Vultures.

My biggest regret!

My biggest regret!

I was owed £4000 and the debtor was resisting to pay back the money. I started my debt collection case with AYOM.co.uk and only £400 been collected!

It's been 6 months I am trying to get the money collected, they just ignore me!

Do not trust them cause you won't get paid.

Fraud

In early XXXX, I engaged Are You Owed Money Ltd (AYOM) to recover a debt of £XXXX owed to me. I accepted their Terms and Conditions online, which stated I would begin receiving payments once the net recovered funds exceeded £250, after a 28-day holding period.

The debtor began making £XXX weekly payments. By Month X, AYOM had recovered over £XXX. Above £250 meeting this threshold. Under their own contract, I should have received a payment. I didn’t.

I contacted them to request a breakdown of funds, commission, and a payment schedule. Instead of providing any figures or transparent responses, they gave vague replies repeatedly claiming an undefined “aggregate threshold” hadn’t been reached. This directly contradicted the terms I agreed to.

I followed up to ask why I hadn’t been paid and why, given the lack of meaningful or consistent debtor engagement, the debt hadn’t been declared irrecoverable. I requested closure of the case without penalty. They refused, asserting the debt was “successfully being recovered,” despite their inability to provide a payment or progress update.

They also warned that any attempt to cancel would result in full commission and fees being charged even though I’ve received zero return and they’ve offered no clarity or accountability.

I now believe this may constitute fraud under the Fraud Act 2006, particularly under:

False representation: They misled me about when I’d be paid, and continue to reference vague thresholds not outlined in the contract.

Failure to disclose information: They are deliberately withholding key financial information I’m entitled to.

Abuse of position: They are using a one-sided contract to retain money recovered on my behalf, while refusing to remit or release the case.

I believe AYOM's actions violate: the consumer rights act 2025, failure to peer from services with reasonable care and skill. The consumer protection from unfair trading regulations 2007 misleading and aggressive practices. UK GDPR- by not providing full access to personal data and financial information upon request.

I have since found dozens of public complaints from others with similar experiences: withheld funds, no accountability, and being financially penalized for trying to exit. I believe this is part of a pattern of systematic and deceptive practices.

I would like to cancel my.contract nd receive the funds owed by them to me to their breach of contract tract but no avail. They've got 3 different website URL's:
- Ayom.co.uk
- Debtandrecovery.co.uk
-collectthatdebt.co.uk

Awful company charged us £60 to collect…

Awful company charged us £60 to collect a £60 debt, mislead us and then say read the T n C's.
Then unbelievably patronising on a phone call.

Follow up
We paid them and then they called us several times being antagonistic, talking over us not listening to our valid points.

The lady just loved the sound of her own totally patronising voice, to the point where I told here to do one in no uncertain times, which was her intention I guess so she could then play the victim!!

I wished we'd have seen the hundreds of 1 star reviews before we got involved but they cold called us originally and sounded OK!!

Avoid them they are rude unpleasant and so patronising

I was seeking a debt collection

I was seeking a debt collection agency and too my misfortune I picked are you owed money. Their new business department could sell you sand in a dessert however the rest of collections and legal department are dreadful.

For 14 months all they did was send letters and sms messages, my debt collector was Rose I've nothing positive to say about her unfortunately her communication skills require drastic improvement and feel she did the bare minimum to tick a box that she'd worked my case.

In those 14 months not once was I called and updated with any progress or lack of. When I call rose was never at her desk and I was promised call backs that rarely happened unless I chased them.

As time progressed I called and expressed my disappointment in the lack of progress and got told my case had gone to legal and I'd get a call back from a Constantine that call back was promised in 2024. We're now 5 months deep into 2025 and it still hasnt happened.

Avoid this company and don't let them promise you the earth and ultimately fail to deliver what I'd consider basic customer service

Absolute SCAM

I instructed AYOM to help recover a debt and was told their fee would be 15%. They later put the case on hold without explanation, gave no updates, and ultimately did nothing to help. I did not recover any money, yet they sent me an invoice for over 60% of the claimed amount.

Despite their “no-win-no-fee” promise, they’ve demanded payment for a case with no outcome and no result. Their approach has been aggressive and completely unjustified. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

AVOID

Won't talk to you, if you get an email it's rude and just to palm you off. Payment arrangement made (not that I was agreeable) less than interest I'm allowed to add. In other words I'll never receive the money, the debt will never be cleared. Requested the small sum recovered at least 8 times, just ignored. Now not even chasing my debt which debtor has funds to pay in full. AVOID!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
I have never been treated so badly by a company.
It is bad enough that a company did not pay for all the services I offered but it is worse that ARE YOU OWED MONEY received my monies and have not paid this out to me. I send emails to customer service, I phone them no answer. Quick enough to take the case at the beginning but no service once they RECEIVED THE MONEY I WAS OWER. . I gave them all this and concise details of the monies they took from our clients that still owed to us.
I still have not got any money or answers to my complaint. They do not even follow their own complaints procedure and just ignore you.
DO NOT USE THEM JUST AWFUL.......

Never paid out

Collected debt but haven’t paid out, 9 months since saying debt had been paid by the debtor. Didn’t tell us it had been paid, we contacted them and they said we’d hear from the financial department. Passed around between departments and no longer receiving contact.

They don't get the job done.

They don't get the job done.

Appalling customer service, can barely get an answer out of them, I waited months and months and months to be told they had closed my case without even informing me of what was happening. They just take your money and don't answer you.

Can say only one word: AYOM are thefts. Recovered money still not paid, and no respons to emails. Jack Shapiro, and all others are ignorants from top level. Their nice talking to make good impression on the beginning only.

Still no response from this company, and no final settlement. They have the money from our customer but will not finish paying over to my company. Such a real shame and so necessary. Please don't trust them with your already stressful situation, they will not answer your calls, emails or pay up. AVOID, please!
AYOM, if you read this, please just settle what you owe us.. and all the other people you are hurting right now.
