Warranty excuse

I called the customer support line after a cooker that was bought 2024 and was still in warranty. Had an issue the main oven door fell off and the glass fell out so cannot use the oven. After being asked to provide product number and photos I was told this is not a technical issue so not covered under warranty. What is the point of a warranty if now I have to find money to get the cooker repaired myself. I'm disabled and was made redundant end of September. This warranty is useless will never buy electrical goods from Argos again.

Abysmal Service on 6th and 8th October 2025

Order 1 for garden furniture arrived with damaged packaging and three table legs instead of four! Also, missing plug for the parasol hole.

Return collection & refund requested. Still waiting.

Ordered a replacement which arrived a day later. Packaging damaged and open. Missing umbrella hole plug.

Attempts to contact customer service were unsuccessful; nobody at the Totton Branch from which the order was despatched answered the telephone. Disgraceful service.

If you're lucky enough to actually find…

If you're lucky enough to actually find something in stock then that's a miracle!

Purchased a side table, which was damaged. Contacted customer service and was advised to contact the store as it was a collection... Fair enough.

Contacted store to be told item was out of stock, but to check website as it should be back in stock in 48 hrs.

Did this and unfortunately, the item still wasn't available.

Contacted Argos again and was told not to worry as I have 30 days to return/exchange the item.

I explained I didn't really want to wait up to 30 days for a piece of furniture and at no point was an alternative suggested or perhaps a collection or delivery from another store.

Not the greatest experience!

Will never buy from here again

My son bought a Huawei 8 Band watch with his birthday money, after we tried installing the app (several times) through the Huawei website, I googled why it wasn't uploading and omg nope, Google amd Huawei have had a big full out. So no app. I had only got the charger out, which I popped neatly back only to be told by a smiling teenager that the seal os broken amd go home. My son has been in tears. No watch amd no birthday money. Phoned up customer service who was about as useful as a chocolate fireguard, but polite, to go to another store to try my luck. Went into said store where I was met to the words 'we told them on the phone that there is no chance and your problem' to which I asked her how she would feel amd she replied 'I don't make the rules'.

Zero customer service. Didn't even turn the watch on. Complete joke.

We were no even told that this was a thing and I should read the small print. Maybe they should explain that. Or even better, advice that huawei and Google are not compatible!

Sarcastic staff member Ann

Okay, most of the staff are like friendly and polite, but there is a white female that works there Ann that’s extremely rude to customers and sarcastic.
Also she tries to persuade elderly customers in applying for the Argos storecard !!!!

Will never buy from Argos again

online order for a Ninja ZEROSTICK Frying Pan, took a week to deliver and they had sent me completely wrong item. Spoke with chat advisor immediately who couldnt do anything as had to wait for Yodel to confirm delivery at the end of the day. Then spoke with chat advisor again who took ages between replies whilst they translated the text, who then told me item was out of stock. They then immediately refunded the price of the postage back to paypal who paid back into my account immediately the £3.95. Was then told it will take 5-30 days for the full refund of the price of the item and that this was all my fault for using Paypal and not their fault, (despite being able to immediately refund the price of postage). It's the 14th of December and this was a gift for christmas and I'm now being told I won't receive a refund in time to be able to purchase a replacement item. Disgusting customer service. Will never buy from Argos again.

The worst customer service experience

I went to collect an order of 3 items today. Order number 6660761931. When I got there they gave me 1 item. I said there were 3 items to collect and I was told there was only 1 item. The young lady was not rude in fact she was quite helpful but couldn't do anything to help me. I have spent the last 2 hours on chatting on line to resolve this issue and the customer service people [and I spoke to several] could not have been more unhelpful. At the end of two hours chatting I was told to go back to the store to collect my items. However if the assistant is saying they are not there what then? I will never ever shop at Argos again FACT. I just want my money back now. I do not have the time to go back to the store.

Should be 0 Stars

I placed an Order FT0222268 on 23 Aug 2023 online. It was for matching 4 wheeled Feathersone Suitcases & cost £115. So not cheap. On just getting back from my Holiday, I returned to the Accrington Store where I had collected them to report them as faulty. The Cabin Bag especially was not able to be used with the 4 wheels & kept falling over. I bought these as I have COPD & thought they would make my life easier. I spent much time having to pick up the Cabin Bag as it constantly fell over. The handle is extremely fragile & wobbly & moves several inches. I was told by the Manager that no Refund was possible as Handles can be wobbly & as for the Case falling over, I should not place heavy items in it ! Especially at the front. The way to use it was to drag it behind me on 2 wheels so he said. Had I wanted that, I would've bought a cheap 2 wheeled Suitcase. I then asked an Assitant to speak to the Area Manager - she said he was not available. I then asked her to pass on my details to him/her. She said this was not possible either. I then asked who I should contact to resolve this & she said "Contact whoever you think should help" ! At this point having not been to bed for 2 days & being in a lot of pain from constantly having to bend over, I became extremely upset. She then smirked at me. i shouted "Why are you smirking, this is not funny" She then walked away, laughing & said "I'm ignoring you" I was absolutely aghast at this behaviour. She was ordered to leave the Shop Floor by the Manager. He then gave me the Tel No for Customer Services who were equally unhelpful. Please don't make the same mistake as paying a lot of money for a 4 wheeled Suitcase which needs to be used as a 2 wheeled Suitcase that you can't put heavy items in. Shame on you Argos. False Avertising at least, if not something more serious. A Case for Trading Standards maybe ....................

Any humans to help?

Normally I have absolutely no issues buying from Argos, however early am this morning I decided to order a simple but needed item. Password failed and the re set email would not open. Now my account is locked but they are supposed to send an email to unlock. Didn’t arrive. There was no option for guest check out so I tried on another window by putting an unwanted item into a trolley. Guest option available. Returned to order the actual items I require but not offered guest check out. I do not have a clue what’s going on. I’m also getting a warning message that the password re set email doesn’t look safe. Businesses scream they can’t get staff but won’t employ enough customer service agents to provide decent service.
UPDATE. A new day and another try. I’m now ok with my password but Argos still have my account locked.
I must re set password to unlock my account and a link sent. However on clicking “RESET PASSWORD” nothing happens. Unbelievable, frustrating, ridiculous but it would be easier if there were humans to help.
UPDATE. 5/10/2023. Still unable to access my account. Although I have an answer about any humans to help. The answer is NO. Searched Argos customer service but there isn’t any. Dialled the number 03456402020 and a recording states I need my order number. This is repeated 3 times before the call dropped out. I can’t order because my account is locked. The reset option sent to my email doesn’t work. I thought I would be given an option to speak to someone. That was too optimistic.

Wanted an American style fridge freezer…

Wanted an American style fridge freezer delivered and for them to take away the old appliance away. Could not get an answer from Argos on that, although I was told in the shop that the facility was available. All he did was give me the phone number of the manufacturers. Not a good experience at all. Called the manufacturers and got through to an automated response and all that did was give me options about warranties on a fridge that was already purchased. Argos are a complete waste of time and their customer services are absolutely awful.

Argos pulled out of Ireland and now don't give a hoot

I purchased a Guild Wet & Dry Vac in September 2022 from Argos in Tralee, Ireland. The switch broke in June 2023, just after Argos pulled out of Ireland. I tried to contact Argos Ireland over a period of about a week, no response, so I then contacted Argos UK. I was told to contact the manufacturer, Guild UK. Contacted Guild UK who agreed to replace it. They tried three times, each time it was returned to them by Customs. Lack of postage. Nearly a month without a vacuum so I contacted Guild UK telling them as this was taking so long, I wanted a refund. They agreed and gave me a reference number to give Argos. I phoned Argos.ie who advised me to email the details that I had given them over the phone and also my receipts. Did this immediately. Next day I got an email from Argos.ie requesting copies of my receipts. I just knew this wasn't going to run smooth. I again forwarded my receipts. I also told them while on the phone call that I was heading for the USA on 20th August, I was assured the refund would be issued within 48 hours, so plenty of time. It wasn't. No surprise there then. Since being in America I have sent at least 40 emails to Argos.ie. I have live chatted with Argos UK. Argos UK won't assist, they just tell me to contact Argos.ie. Argos.ie say they have tried phoning me but unable to contact. I have told them I cannot contact them on a 1800 number. They tell me contact by email, Argos.ie Finance team will not issue a refund till they have spoken to me by phone. I email Argos.ie Financial team and my email postmaster returns them commenting "mailbox is full".
If anyone has any idea how to resolve this I would very much appreciate it.

Bought a child's cycle seat from Argos

Bought a child's cycle seat from Argos. It was extremely difficult to assemble and once assembled the seat was wobbly and with no handle bars for the child to support themselves as with others, that are much better on the market.
I returned it and wrote a review to warn others. Argos removed my review.
They have made it impossible for me to submit another review and the ensuing online chat to try and resolve it took over an hour and got me nowhere. I don't think they want negative reviews, only good ones. That's a mistake. It was the product I was negative about. Now I am negative about Argos customer service too.
I have an account with them and I am considering closing it. I don't need this.

I have since bought a cheaper and much better and safer one from the worlds largest online retailer.
