I bought a tablet from Argos on the internet.

I bought a tablet from argos on the internet and picked it up from Argos Southport store. It was rubbish and kept locking up. I could not use their online support as most sites have virus on them. I took it back to the store and they refused the return, the staff was very aggressive and i think they called the police to get me out of the store. I then told their main office and they would not allow a return either on the faulty item, something is very wrong with this company.
As soon as I walked in the shop you could see the negative attitude. The man who looked to be in charge took over and had a negative attitude. He never looked at the problem only the hard drive size. I am a retired shopkeeper and in my day, I would have said.( How can I help you today Sir.) And then said leave it with me for two or three days and I will have tested and if you call in then you will have a replacement or refund. Two members of staff were not from this planet. In 76 years this is my worst exsperence in any shop.

Overall they were a convenient alternative to Amazon, but not much better

Overall they were a convenient alternative to other retails- no frills, and straight forward as far as in-store experience. Their customer service people were always nice to the very end.

However, the one thing they should Have got right (and I assume this is why they were pulling out of Ireland), was that their site search was terrible.

Their filters were terrible, they didn’t have reasonable options for key words/features other than “color” and super non-helpful filters, and they were almost always out of stock or low stock our experience.

Their prices were strange as well- many time we were able to find better local pricing for weird stuff like ring lights for cameras, instant pots, etc. we only used them because we didn’t want to wait for shipping- and that was their only appeal.

Once Amazon comes to town with a decent 1-day ship time, these guys are done.

I had a item that was under warranty…

I had a item that was under warranty that stopped working. On contacting Argos l was told by a person called Anjali that a replacement would be delivered on the 24th of may. And the faulty item collected. This did not happen. Then on contacting argos again someone called Stu told me Anjali had not booked the delivery. But, Stu would arrange delivery on response to his message. I responded accepting the offer of delivery but heard nothing back from him. But l received messages from two other persons asking me what my enquiry was about. Thinking if l called l would get answers l call customer service. This was a waste of time as it was in South Africa & the information the African had was not correct. He told me item not available which was not true as on Argos website it says available for delivery today. He kept putting me on hold and that was disappointing. Then he cut off the call. I used to like Argos but after trying to sort out my faulty item for nearly 5 hours yesterday & today l will not be using them to purchase items. I am disgusted with the service given and l am now stuck with an item still under warranty that doesn’t work and it’s not possible for me to return to store as it’s too big for me to transport myself as l don’t drive. It would of helped if persons on live chat / customer service phone calls did not have a problem with the English language the language barrier was a contributing factor in my frustration with Argos outsourcing the customer service services. I had hoped to talk to a person in England who could help but sadly that’s not the case with Argos. Next step is l shall be writing to them directly. I’m disgusted with them.

Never order online from Argos

Ordered from Argos an item online 28th March. Collected today from Sainsbury's pickup point March 30th the item bought was JBL BLACK Headphones, BUT have been sent blue headphones. Called today twice cut off once have been on the phone 22 minutes asking to speak to a manager or supervisor. But of course never available! I wonder why! Now I have to go out of my way to return to a store because Argos dispatched the wrong item to me! Great must remember never to use this company again. Also what a disappointment as this was a birthday gift that they will not have now.

Useless item

I purchased an item online, it wasn't suitable but they wouldn't change it or refund it as I had opened it. How could I have discovered it wasn't suitable without opening it? The manager at the store where I collected it was nothing short of uncooperative and downright rude. Am now stuck with a £900 item that's no use to me. There should surely be some protection to consumers in this scenario. Certainly won't be shopping there again.

Argos "hassle free returns"!!!!!

Argos offer "hassle free returns" Well I'm being put to alot of hassle. Just tried to return a Sony sound bar & speakers which obviously we set up at home & discovered the sound is so poor we are better just listening to the TV without it. The staff in Argos won't give me my refund & said it has to be tested first as it was open & used. Well obviously I wouldn't know it didn't work without opening & using it!!! So just to add total annoyance to their "hassle free returns" they cannot test it now as they have no TV set up!!!!! I have to come all the way back to their store tomorrow. One last point about my experience in the Monaghan Store is that I was being dealt with by 1 sales assistant firstly & she called on her colleague for advice which is totally understandable but in the course of our exchange a 3rd sales assistant on the floor wandered up & started stating store policy at me - a little bit overkill & to be honest a little intimating 3 sales assistants gathered around me!!!! I felt like I was having to defend my decision to return a product we are not happy with - they even went as far as to say I should have done my research about the quality of sound. Well sorry I just had a reasonable expectation that a sound bar & speakers would improve the quality of the sound not make it worse!!!!! We will see what tomorrow brings after their test, not sure I trust them!!! They were not offering me reassurance they practically accused me of lying & keep saying if they find no fault i would have to keep it!!! Surely they should be operating on the assumption there is a fault with the product & only address issues if they should arise!!!! UPDATE I retrieved the product from Monaghan Argos & took my return to Cavan Argos they honoured the returns policy & refunded my money.

Return policy?

i bought a samsung tablet, tried to set it up but decided it was too big, they have a 14 day return policy, I reset it it to factory settings and took it back but they refused to let me return it, pointless offering a return policy if they don't give it, apart from that they send an email asking how they did but the link does'nt work, first and last time I buy from them, I now have to try sell a tablet that cost £239 and hope I can get maybe half my money back

As a customer and amazon card holder

As a customer and amazon card holder, I'm only pleased of how easy it is on how to purchase a product.

However, this review is not reflecting that, it's actually reflecting the product review on their website.

I believe many of their reviews are fake, I don't know how to submit a product review as I purchased quite a few "Philips Wiz B22 Colour Smart LED Wi-Fi Bulb" and they are ALL defective, yet, they have a positive review. I tried to find a way to give my review but I can't.

Apparently they have a 3 week review policy, they send you an email after 3 weeks. I haven't received any email what so ever. Why can't their setup be exactly like amazon, review the product after you purchased it imminently?

In case Argos is reading this review, i suggest you change your customer product review page, as for these defective products "Philips Wiz B22 Colour Smart LED Wi-Fi Bulb", 1 of them blew after 24hrs, the rest of them are having issues staying connected to the wi-fi router, I have tried these of 3 different routers with the SAME issue.

At the end, I've just used them as normal light bulbs now. ideal for the toilet in case I accidentally leave the toilet light on. But these products are not worth buying. Shame Argos don't sell the "Calex smart light bulbs" These are fantastic products which I haven't had any issues with. If Argos sold these, I would be straight down the shop in a flash and I would be recommending theses to my friends pushing more profit to Argos. But because they don't and sell these Rubbish Philip brands, no point getting any.

Argos reviews are worthless

Argos reviews are worthless: I bought a Ben Sherman watch a couple of weeks ago. Argos asked me for a review. I basically said the watch was fine, but there was no adjustment on the bracelet, and that because the bracelet is far too large, it would mean sending it to the manufacturer, with a five pound postal order, by registered post. As a gift, for, say a teenager, that would be extremely disappointing. My review was rejected because, they said "it mentions the price..." What they mean is it mentions the cost of sending it back. So - take the 'reviews' with a large pinch of salt - this is censorship Britain: you're only allowed to know what they want you to know. I told them not to ask for any more reviews.

Cheap goods and cheap customer service

In the afternoon of the 4th I picked up, what was supposed to have been an 'office chair'. Went home, assembled it, which was easy 4 screws only, sat down and it was THE most uncomfortable chair I have ever sat on. There is no way anybody can sit on this for an 8 hour day. This was not one of the cheaper ones, but mid range at EUR115
I took it apart, packed everything in the original packaging and took it back this morning. It was never used, only once to sit on, I thought that's what a chair was for.
Arrived at the store, to be told that the chair could not be taken back, as it had been assembled and was apparently 'dirty', referring to the wheels, which obviously in order to sit on it, had made contact with the floor. Imagine that, shocking.
All this was delivered in a rude, obnoxious manner, by the staff there.
I guess, cheap store, cheap staff, cheap customer service, describes the issue perfectly. I had other reservations in this tatt-shop, which they can keep.

The old saying stays true. You get what you pay for. I will never frequent this place again, and will make sure, nobody else I know, will either.

3rd delivery missed by Argos

3rd delivery missed by Argos, first one nobody showed up. Second one fridge was damaged. Third one nobody turned up to deliver and they said the customer changed the delivery date...which I didn't considering my current fridge has not been working for a month.

4th delivery is for the 5/1/22. I won't be buying from Argos again.
