Poor algorithms (Music and SFX)

Appreciatie you can subscribe for a short period of time, that would be my pro. I use it only for music and sfx, and I find it hard to find anything really , they’re pushing on AI features, but obviously they should remember to work on their basic algorithms. The song match feature never worked a single time for me, when it comes to sfx, the search results are really poorly organized, not even remotely relevant half of the time, it’s just not enjoyable to look for anything on this platform.

"Misleading Refund Policy & Tickets Closed Before You Can Respond — Avoid"

I recently purchased an Artlist AI subscription expecting to explore and test the platform's AI generation tools. What I didn't know — because it was never clearly communicated during registration or at checkout — was that the moment you generate even a single piece of content, you permanently forfeit any right to a refund. No warnings, no prominent disclosure, nothing highlighted before you complete your purchase.
When I reached out to request a refund after being unsatisfied with the quality of the AI-generated content, I was met with a copy-paste policy response citing their Terms of Use. After multiple follow-up emails invoking my rights as a South African consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 — rights that Artlist's own Terms explicitly acknowledge — I was still flatly denied and stonewalled at every turn.
To make matters worse, Artlist closed my support ticket and marked it as "completed" without my agreement or resolution — and they did this within just 3 hours of their last response. I was given no reasonable window to reply, follow up, or escalate. A standard expectation in any customer service interaction is at least 24 hours before a ticket is closed — Artlist doesn't even come close to that basic courtesy. It felt deliberately designed to make it harder for customers to pursue their complaints.
The real issue isn't just the refund policy itself — it's that a condition this significant is buried in documentation rather than shown clearly before a customer hands over their money. Artlist even acknowledged in writing that my feedback about clarity would be "passed along to the relevant team" — an indirect admission that their disclosure is inadequate.
Their support team was polite but ultimately powerless, and the decision was never escalated despite multiple requests. I have since initiated a chargeback through my bank and filed a formal complaint under the Consumer Protection Act.
If you are considering an Artlist subscription — especially for AI tools — proceed with extreme caution. Test nothing until you are 100% certain you want to keep it, because the moment you do, your money is gone regardless of the result. And if you dare to complain, don't expect your ticket to still be open by the time you write back.

It's a hit or miss service

It's a hit or miss service, with more misses than hits. I've been using them for a while, and in the early days, they credited back credits for WAY OFF renders that made no sense based on the info provided. Now they don't respond to those credit requests, and offer ZERO ability to rate the render the ai spits out to you. I won't be renewing my subscription for this alone. If you have no way of providing feedback on the works it's providing for you, then why bother...you should be actively trying to improve your service if it's not delivering accurate results. Oh, and the "doesn't meet guidelines" denials are getting worse. I don't know who's created their filters, but maybe realize it's 2026...not the 1950s.

Deceptive service and refund denied within 14 days (Beware!)

I am extremely disappointed with Artlist. I subscribed to an annual plan, and after generating only 3 videos (just previews, NO downloads), all my credits were exhausted. It is unacceptable to pay a full annual fee for a service that vanishes in 3 clicks.

I requested a refund within the 14-day legal window, explicitly stating that I have NOT downloaded any assets to my device. They denied my request, claiming the service was "used." This is clearly a case of unjust enrichment: they keep a full year's payment for 3 simple previews.

To make matters worse, they told me via email they would cancel my active subscription, but they didn't. I had to do it manually myself.

If you are looking for a fair AI tool, stay away from Artlist. Their "annual" plans can last you 5 minutes and they will refuse to give your money back even if you don't download anything. I am now forced to dispute the charge through my bank.

THE WORST UGC AI OPTION IN MARKET!!!!

I recently subscribed to Artlist’s AI plan (16,500 credits), which is advertised as allowing around 103 video generations and up to 3 hours of voice generation. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different.

After generating just one 15-second video, 9,000 credits were deducted—more than half of my total monthly credits. At that rate, the plan realistically allows for less than 30 seconds of video, which is nowhere near what is advertised.

The credit system is also extremely unclear. There is no transparent breakdown or warning before generating content to explain how many credits will be used, making it very difficult to manage usage or understand the real cost.

Because of this, the pricing feels misleading and does not reflect actual usage. I have stopped using the service and requested a refund.

I strongly recommend that others be very careful before purchasing this plan and not rely solely on the advertised numbers, as they can be highly misleading.

A licensing model that chains creators to endless payments

A customer lock-in model disguised as licensing. You can create client work while subscribed, but after cancelling you risk future copyright issues for work already sold. This effectively forces creators to keep paying forever. Feels deeply unfair and anti-customer. Cancelled immediately!

Worst AI ever

Worst AI ever. Videos in english and the video cannot write english. It is writing in a language maybe the creators speak. Don't worth at all, paid the 20 Euros sub, and the credits finished in just 3 videos of 5s. Try something else, avoid this

Brex was very helpful transferring my plan to Artlist

Brex was very helpful transferring my subscription from Artgrid to artlist to get raw footage added to my plan. It seemed a bit of a confusing process to me but they did everything their side and made it as easy as possible, which I really appreciate.

Thanks so much Brex and the Artgrid/Artlist team

Misleading upgrade flow and poor refund experience

I signed up for Artlist because I needed to generate an AI video, but my experience was extremely disappointing.

During the free trial, I was not given enough credits to properly test the specific video generation feature I needed. When I tried to generate the video, the platform directed me to upgrade because the generation required around 20,000 credits. From my experience, this meant I had to commit to a paid annual plan just to find out whether the tool could actually do what I needed.

After upgrading, I experienced failed or unusable generations. The result was not simply “imperfect” or a matter of personal preference — it did not meet the bare minimum level of usability for the purpose I subscribed for. I have been using AI tools regularly since 2022 and have multiple AI-related subscriptions, so I understand that AI outputs can vary. This was not an issue of expecting perfection. The output was not practically usable.

When I contacted support, I was told that refunds are based on whether credits were consumed, not whether the generated asset was usable. I was also previously led to believe a downgrade option may be available, but later told that was a misunderstanding.

In my opinion, the purchase flow and credit system made it very difficult to properly test the service before being pushed into a paid annual subscription. I would caution anyone considering Artlist’s AI video tools to carefully review the credit costs, refund policy, and subscription terms before upgrading.
