Lifeline should discontinue them as a service provider

They fail to notify one that it's time to recertify, so the lifeline is cut off and one has to pay as one goes at $.10 per minute, only if one doesn't have whatever minimum balance they think one should have, somewhere over $5, the phone still won't work. Each call, whether 1 second or 60 and each unsolicited text tolls those minutes. Customer support is completely unintelligible, with such poor English-speaking skills that they should not be allowed to serve the U.S. market. Each representative tells you something different and what they say is inconsistent and inaccurate. The website offers little to no help in resolving issues so one is forced to talk to the people. Takes about 1 and 1/2 hours each time to get through, think something is resolved only to find that it's not.

WORST Wireless Provider I've Ever Dealt With

If I could give Assurance Wireless (a subsidiary of T-Mobile) zero stars, I would. I have never experienced such horrible services from a wireless carrier in all my life. Their customer service is an absolute joke; Their reps can barely understand and speak coherent English, they are rude and argumentative, they will attempt to dissuade you from speaking to a supervisor, but when you demand them to do so they will either leave you on hold and/or disconnect the call. Their cellular coverage is garbage...I'm in the state of Michigan which is supposed to have 100% coverage, yet the best reception I've been able to get is 3 bars. To top it off, their wireless internet services are a scam...the only time it's reliable is when you pay extra for high-speed data. The plan I am on is supposed to provide me 7GB's of high-speed data, and once that is used (usually within a day and a half) it's supposed to provide me with unlimited data at 3G speeds...However, this is NOT the case...their "3G speed" must be different from the rest of the world's 3G because it is so slow as to be almost unusable. When I was on dial-up/modem it was faster. In addition, their phones are cheap and prone to overheating (this happened to me on 2 of the 4 phones I had through them). Despite the fact that Assurance Wireless is federally-subsidized by the Lifeline Program, it is a sub-par (at best) wireless service provider and is ripping off the tax-payers. You'd expect a major carrier such as T-Mobile not to conduct business this way but apparently they don't care as long as the federal dollars roll in. The FTC and/or a prominent law firm needs to intercede and initiate a class-action lawsuit to get these shysters under control.

ASSURANCE IS MISLEADING AND FRAUDULENT TO CONSUMERS.

Rating 1 star I am sorry but is to high, I switched to assurance wireless in May I believe of 2025 I say I believe because I waited for over 2months for the phone it got to the point I completely forgot about assurance, when I activated my phone I was told about the $10 unlimited TALK AND DATA deal they are having I was told if I didn't want to upgrade my lifeline plan that day I was able to upgrade at anytime, well thats a lie, on July 12th with out prior warning and when coustmer service was of course closed they shut down my service I called the 13th and I was given or was to be given curtsey mins so as the supervisor put it I could make and receive calls lol well they must start deducting mins as soon as you dial a number because I no sooner said hello the call was disconnected, so I called back on the 13th wanting to upgrade my plan to the UNLIMITED TALK AND DATA FOR $10 FOR A YEAR PLAN. I was told so many different reasons why I couldn't that it gave me a migraine including if paid $10 for UNLIMITED TALK AND DATA on the 18th I would not just loss the UNLIMITED mins but my money as well because my lifeline mins come on the 18th well I was told that my lifeline mins would rollover to prevent service interruption but yet on sun the 13th not only was I told I would lose the mins and my money than I was told by another coustmer service agent that I can't upgrade my plan I ended paying $5, for 250 mins well that was later in the day by Monday early afternoon I guess I had only 42 mins left I had 3 longer than normal calls but not long enough to go thru 250 mins I swear from the second you hit call u loss mins even if it doesn't show they deduct mins they do . So after I receive a txt about the mins being gone and I should add money so my service is not interrupted now I am given notice I call about it again Monday it was insane nonsense I was told I didn't pay for 250 mins only 50 and I couldn't upgrade my plan until the 18th and this time I was told that there's no UNLIMITED TALK AND DATA special it's now just data the agents also speak so fast that you have to tell them to breathe cuz you can't understand what they are saying because the words are all bunched together and 3 agents in a row spoke to fast and unclear that wasn't by chance they talk quickly and unclear on purpose the chances of 3 agents speaking unclear are not likely . Well on July 15th I had to call assurance wireless yet again to add mins again so I was speaking with a different service agent he seemed nice at 1st until I again asked about the $10 unlimited TALK AND DATA FOR the year that's on the website he claimed that they have no such upgrade it's monthly so I repeated what was on assurance website he asked me to hold he repeated word for word what was on the website regarding this deal I waited for him to sy something and when I called him out on repeating what they show on their website he actually got defensive and rude raised his voice to me when I asked for a supervisor more than 3 times he just kept saying he was not going to get a supervisor I had to give him a good enough reason why after I explained that he can't exactly deny me the chance to speak with a supervisor he still continues to tell me he refuses to allow me to speak with a supervisor so I asked him what is afraid of if he get a supervisor he must be afraid of something like I just caught him in a lie and he continued to raise his voice and tells me to go ahead and file complaints against assurance wireless I wasn't going to talk to a supervisor. So I hung up and called 611 finally after 4 people who work for assurance wireless has done nothing but misrepresent and lie and scam I got the sweetest and totally honest lady that works for assurance and I come to find out that yes there is a plan for the unlimited TALK AND DATA but this has been left out of the website and when I was told about the day I activated my phone the upgrade only is offered in Texas and California!!! No other states and not one agent will tell you that instead they push you to pay for unlimited data for what I don't know since people have wi fi so as I had to pay for another 250 mins the mins I had left didn't roll over I lost 42 minutes and money. That doesn't seem exactly right when a person has paid for mins and had to.py a day and half later for more mins to keep service interruption how can assurance wireless not collect in less than 2 days 10plus dollars but not provide what I paid for how can people just lose mins they paid for I've never Had any phone carrier not just roll mins over and I all of sudden am on pay as I go plan what I had no choice but to pay for mins because of medical reasons I have to have my phone on
Now today once again I am going to pay for mins again and at this rate before the 18th lll be broke since mins strangely start getting deducted as soon as I hit call they don't rollover paid mins nor refund the mins they scam and fraud consumers I will be going to BBB NEXT FCC TO ETC

Assurance Wireless is a Scam!

Order #364051201-00
T-Mobile Affiliate - Assurance Wireless!

The T-Mobile/Assurance Wireless phone does not work, and they demand that unsuspecting subscribers pay the full cost of return shipping plus a 50% restocking fee.
I'm a 76-year-old retired man on disability and food assistance programs from the state of Michigan. (This is B.S.)
They've provided three telephone numbers, but none offer answers regarding product returns; only an email and a website that outline an unconscionable return policy.
Do citizens need to demand justice in a class action lawsuit against illicit scammers like this?

I wanted to give no star

I wanted to give no star . To make a review , I had to give at least 1 star. My phone was connected to a non working tower by customer Service. Was never told by him that this was done. My phone continues to not work in. I was told 24-48 hrs. Before the tower works on my phone. I had to buy my own phone. Problem with their phones. Lifeline never sent a letter to recertify. They took care of everything in 1 day where Assurance Wireless Suspended my account. It is over a week and a half and even though my recertification was processed. Assurance Wireless has become incompetent. Also, to put a make believe Supervisor on the phone who did nothing with lack of experience . I received multiple , auto text changing my pin 3 times. I never requested a change. I been with them about 12 years and never had all these issues. I am a Senior with disabilities and no phone use.

Assurance wireless will not replace my phone i got 3 days ago and it wont hold a charge. It dies…

Assurance wireless no longer allow me to be a customer because I had a phone through them for 3 years and it broke. They sent me a phone pos that would not hold a charge. It would charge to 1 percent then die when unplugged. I gave them $5.37 cents to restart a plan they restarted it then proceeded to tell me I could no longer be a customer when I told them the phone would not hold a charge. Pos phone company. I would never recommend assurance wireless to nobody. They treated me like dirt beneath their feet

Horrible Company do not apply for lifeline

They approved my application while I was on the phone with them. My phone didn’t arrive as expected. I called and my application was gone. I reapplied and was approved again a week later I called to get the tracking number and l was told that I needed to call the Lifeline I did and I got a transfer of benefits code and called again to give them my information. Last Thursday I called and I was told that the phone was on its way but couldn’t get a tracking number yet. I called today and now the story is that I need to call the national verifier and the phone was not coming. I called lifeline number again and I found out that my service had not been transferred and I do not have to call the national verifier I explained what happened and then filled a complaint against Assurance Wireless. Assurance wireless did not use my legal name they omitted the hyphen and the last part of my last name. Lazy lying company they also tell you on the phone that for $10 a year you get unlimited talk, text and data. That’s not true you get 3000 minutes talk 7 high speed data and unlimited text. Wow the agents really do want you to know even pressing them for the correct answer they try to side step the answer.

Anybody but assurance wireless

Really want to know what went wrong..
I signed up for their service. That's really what went wrong. I handed all my personal information over to a hacker. I think they would be much better served with their head up their ass they might see something clear. Obviously more training duh. Maybe somebody that gave a s#!+ about their job. And when something happens having a service that somebody actually can communicate with a human with would be great. That would be a wonderful start. Otherwise all I can think of is scam scam scamming the government out of money since this is government funded.

Horrible customer service. When their operators can't resolve your problem, they disconnect you.
Every customer service person that I have spoken to were based in The Philippines and these people are excellent, professional LIARS!
The aggravation that they put you through is NOT worth it.
Elon, go get them. They should be put out of business for the terrible things that they do to people who rely on these phones.

Buyer beware

On the application process, there are 2 options to choose a phone or a SIM card. When I tried to choose the phone option, it would not let me. So I had to pick the SIM option. That's a bad idea. Because if you have an extra phone, you can use this SIM card on, it has to be unlocked. And if it's a track phone, the company will not cooperate and unlock the phone. Therefore, assurance, wireless is getting everybody's information and opening accounts for a service. They cannot use then refused any kind of other option for providing use of service.

I had 3 gigabytes remaining on my 4.5…

I had 3 gigabytes remaining on my 4.5 gigabyte allowance and it just disappeared into thin air on March 9 2025. they said that I used all my data and that's not true. I constantly check my data balance every day and sometimes I check it a few times per day . On March 9, at 9:15 a.m., I had a balance of over 3 gigabytes of data remaining, 31,335 megabytes to be precise. 8 minutes later, my data disappeared. Assurance wireless said they will escalate my call to a higher level of support and that I will receive a callback in 24 to 48 hours.its been 56 hours now and I received no callback. Previously, they cut-off my service entirely for no reason . They also sent me junk phone which only lasted from 3 to 7 months. Assurance only warranties their phones for 3 months even though the manufacturers warranty is 1 year.hundred of calls to Assurance wireless customer support proved they are liars, scammers and cheaters .all they do is lie and give excuses.thats all . They are a disgrace !
