I had a very positive experience with A Star Equivalency. The revision course and mock tests were extremely helpful and gave me a much better understanding of the exam structure and the types of questions that would appear in the real exam. The practice materials really helped build my confidence before the test.
Communication with the A Star team was excellent throughout the process. Whenever I had questions, they responded quickly with clear and helpful explanations, which made everything much less stressful.
On the exam day, the invigilator was very patient, understanding, and supportive, which helped me feel calm and comfortable during the exam.
I would definitely recommend A Star Equivalency to anyone needing GCSE equivalency qualifications.

My experience has been amazing! I learned about algebra, which is a topic I have always struggled with but this live session has really helped me!

I chose A-Star because of the ease they provide for the exam. You can choose your own desirable date and appear for the exam from the comfort of your home. The exam structure was well defined, started on time and went smoothly. The invigilator reminded me of the time left every time I asked. The result was also delivered within 10 days. Although I was expecting a little more marks, but overall I am satisfied. Thanks.

I just had a free study support session with Laura in anticipation of my GCSE maths equivalency test and wanted to thank her for her kindness, patience, expertise, and all the sound advice she gave me on how to better revise for my exam. It was truly helpful, and I am so very grateful.

Positive: offers a base that you can guide yourself in learning and is specific on the exam curriculum.
Negative: does not go into specific, so you need to look for other materials. It does not have enough exercise. Overall is ok

I recently passed my foundation maths exams to meet the conditions that came with my offer. Even though i sat twice before passing but it was all good experience. I will recommend A star to my friends.

I firstly bought the biology course and exam. I found the course to not be helpful as it is packed with too much detail in the videos that it can get confusing. After studying the course and doing an exam I failed the first attempt. The second time round I studied using physics and maths tutor, cognito which had much better videos that allowed you to understand the topic in an instant, MME and quizlet to make my own notes. This is when I actually passed and felt that I wasted my money with the course if I used the free materials to begin with I would’ve been likely to pass the first time.

I passed the English Equivalency Test on my first attempt, which was great news. However, I have to agree that this is quite a difficult exam to pass.
The reading texts/passages were quite complex and difficult to understand in the first place, and completing everything within the given time was a real challenge. It is very difficult to attempt all the questions comfortably under time pressure. I also felt that both texts were challenging rather than having one easy or medium-level passage.
In my opinion, a lot of preparation is needed before taking the actual test. Practising mock tests is definitely worth it and helps you understand the format and time pressure better.
I would also mention that the AI-generated marks/feedback were not always very clear. In addition, during the mocks, you cannot go back to previous questions, which makes the experience more challenging.
Overall, I would say this is a difficult exam, but with good preparation and enough practice, especially through mocks, it is definitely possible to pass.

I did not receive any renewal reminder or payment confirmation emails regarding my monthly subscription of courses.
I only discovered the recurring charge after noticing the transaction through my bank account and contacting my bank directly. I later had to manually download the invoice from the platform itself because no payment notification email had been received.
I cancelled the subscription immediately after discovering the charge and did not use the renewed subscription period. However, my refund request was still declined.
From my perspective, I was never effectively notified before the payment was taken.

It was hard to pass English. Paper was too difficult. I passed it in second attempt. It is expensive also. If you really want to pass then you have to spend six month in serious study and do all the GCSE English language paper from PMT web site and A star course was also helpful but for Q6 which carry half of the marks of whole paper, about that nothing is given in A star equivalency course. I am talking about picture description question.
I passed in paper exam. I found it difficult to pass it in on line paper as insert and typing paper opens in a same screen. We get overwhelmed with information and scrolling up-down and typing is quite difficult. My suggestion is to do paper based exam.
