I have a good experience doing English GCSEs with them. All is explained clearly, and subscribing to their course helped me a lot to pass the exam. I highly recommend it!

I’m a 37-year-old woman trying to enroll in a teaching qualification- I have a degree and experiencing teaching, but unfortunately, the teaching provider did not accept what was equivalent to reduce GCSE grade C maths. Is This was a functional skills qualification and didn’t cover enough topics. I booked an equivalent test with a star equivalency and I’m pleased that I have passed. I worked so hard to achieve this three months of continuous revision and a weekly tutor. The test was so easy and so user-friendly. It was so convenient as I was able to undertake the assessment at home. I paid fast track to receive my grade sooner and I’m so proud of myself. It was genuinely that one of the best moments of my life. I’d recommend A star equivalency.

I reached out to Tom after I was experiencing difficulty with my provider. Tom has had an exceptional approach towards my circumstances and I enrolled on to the Math Foundation course. Tom has been very professional and helpful. I could not thank Tom enough!

Great way to gain a qualification- I needed science for teaching application and found the process smooth. There was a lot of information and it’s all easy to find on the portal page. I got what I needed and would recommend using

Josh has been very very helpful in helping me book the exam! Thank you so much!

Laura was very helpful and provided an excellent outline of what to expect for the test. She went over a topic which was new to me and really helped me to understand it in a short time. In addition to this, the study material is presented in a way that is easy to understand. This has given me the confidence to sit the test whilst being fully prepared. Highly recommended!

Recently enrolled, practiced and scored the required score. Overall good but for the paper based examinee they need to update their apps or portal so that we can upload our practiced paper and received feedbacks. As its consumed more time to type and upload the whole answers. Rest is best; clear and easy guidelines

My experience was good and the exam went smoothly although I was worried there would be technical issues as it was online.
My only concern is when doing mocks and practise questions for each topic learnt, the questions are the same and don’t change. This makes you familiar with only these questions, rather than all parts of the topic you learnt.

I had access to the course, and it was very clear and easy to follow. As it was my first time studying GCSE English, the step-by-step guidance helped me learn quickly and build my confidence throughout the course.

I took both maths and English GCSE’s exams. I can’t speak for the courses because I didn’t take them and didn’t need them. Really if you’re good at studying on your own you can practice with YouTube videos and GCSEs past papers, no need to spend so much money.
Taking the test in itself was simple enough and comfortable.
However, I feel like they really try to get every penny possible out of you to the point where it’s laughable and irritating.
The tests come after exactly 10 open days (2 weeks). After sending you the results they don’t give you the certificate until you’ve made a request for it. I think they should send the certificate with the results, it really felt like they were trying to waste time. They send too many emails trying to pay almost £60 just to get the results quicker .

Booking system easy.
I signed for the premium pack in 2024 but unfortunately was not able to do the course then. I had a year to complete it! I was send all paper resources but the course then turned digital and I was offered the digital premium platform whichnwas nice. I was told I could book the exams at anything which was great and also that I had one free resit with my exams. I failed my Maths due to being poorly I didn't want to change my exam's date because if it didn't go well I could do it 1 more time for free, when I contacted A star they told me I had to pay for the re-sit which made me quite frustrated. I paid for the premium course and changed the exam dates twice so the company nade lots of money there but I was not given the free resit as i was uold. That was disappointing. Currently waiting to attend science and I'm not confident as it is quite alot to study regardless I I want to attempt it. My issue is if I do it and fail I then need to pay nearly 200 pounds. I do not have that lying around.
Course material is good and I would advise getting the digital course when booking Maths and science I didn't use the English digital and now expired so I do not know how good it was.

I used A Star Learning Portal for my GCSE Maths preparation along with past papers and revision materials. I also used MME Revise (mmerevise.co.uk) for additional Maths revision practice, and both platforms were very helpful for my studies.
I practiced regularly for around 4 months, and consistent revision made a big difference in my understanding and confidence. I found that doing past paper questions and reviewing mistakes is extremely important for Maths improvement.
The revision materials were clear and easy to follow, and I also used YouTube videos to solve different types of Maths questions step by step. This helped me understand topics more deeply and improve my problem-solving skills.
Overall, both A Star Learning Portal and MME Revise were very useful for Maths revision. Regular practice and revision are the key to success in Maths, and I would recommend these resources to other students preparing for their exams.

I did my maths, English and biology exam with A star and it was very easy to book, information on the exam and what was expected were very clear and easy to follow. The course was reccomended but not pushed on you (i took the exam only route) I failed my maths and they gave me information on the areas I needed to work on, booking a retake was super easy too. The fire alarm was tested (unexpectedly) during my exam but I as able to continue through the noise thankfully, without being told to leave. I would reccomended A star to anyone that needs to retake their exams but doesn't have time to go back to college

The overall experience was quite good. The study material of GCSE English course was very helpful to succeed in the exam. Their customer service team is amazing too.
The only issue happened, when I was trying to cancel monthly premium subscription. But the team solved it quickly.
