This is a warning to anyone wishing to bid on Lot 40, supposedly a nameplate from locomotive CREDITON. It is an obvious fake as has been verified on various expert fb pages, and is only worth scrap va... See more

Great fun experience, also filming Bargain Hunt on the premises. Emma and Tracy were overly helpful and professional and calm under intense pressure, well done ladies.

Sells fakes as authentic
Warned them substantially about a reproduction / fake item they were selling as authentic but they ignored me and went ahead with the same anyway.
Lot 350 - 19/03/24 auction

Very Professional Auctioneers
They provided an very detailed description of my items of Georgian Silver and obtained excellent, above estimate results in the subsequent auction
Customer is always right? Not at this place!!
How I wish I had read all the other dozens of negative reviews of this auctioneer before dealing with them! I had what seems to be a typical experience. I won a WW2 military uniform and upon receiving it I found that the insignia were glued on. This was never done in wartime and the item had obviously been messed around with postwar. I informed the auctioneer and asked for a refund but I was initially ignored and finally received a reply with a extract from their terms and conditions, basically saying that it was just too bad and to get lost. Most other UK auctioneers provide refunds for fakes or non-authentic items but not this crowd. They just want their commission and could not care less about unhappy customers. Well now you have one more unhappy customer who will never buy from you again and I hope everyone else takes note of all these negative reviews and avoids this auctioneer!!
.....where is my missing item
Bought two lots in December online auction.
Not cheap items either....several hundred pounds in total.
Both paid for, just got home from a work trip and opened my package right now to find only one item delivered but both items on invoice.
I had read such good reviews as well, very disappointed with the service I have received from them.
UPDATE:
Second Item was not posted, Also I was not given an information regarding the fact it was not posted until I chased the matter up.
Within one day of contacting them , they have got my item already to post out.
Very happy with the whole process
Very happy with the whole process of selling at East Bristol Auction House. The valuer was a really lovely lady who took her time to talk us through the items and was extremley accurate with her valuations giving a very pleasing final result at the auction. Will certainly use again.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..
We used this company to auction my deceased brother in law militaria collection. We were assured that we would be kept informed all the way through the process and after it had been lotted we would be able to view and confirm prices etc. We never received any phone calls or communication and after numerous calls to them through the upcoming month never once had any information. The day before the auction i called them again and conveniently the manager was unavailable but was told some of the items were in the December auction and the rest may be in March !! no explanation or sorry for distress caused. I collected all the items straight away as just didn't trust anything they said by now, on collection the manager was still unavailable...very unprofessional service and obviously wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Recommend
I took a few military items here to see if they were of any value, I was told by John, who was polite, friendly and very helpful, that the whole lot would be estimated to make between £100-£250 at Auction. When it went to Auction, I was pleased to hear that it had been sold for £120. Highly recommend this place.
Our first auction attempt was nervous but successful.
This is the first time we have experienced using an auction to sale items. The person we met to set up our items for sale was very helpful and we confidently left it in her hands. The sale went through and we were very pleased with the result. We will use them again.
Be careful
Take great care before entrusting your goods or money to this company.
I won’t be doing either ever again. Once the legal process is complete I’ll make a fuller public statement detailing my harrowing experience with them.
They don’t answer mails for days
They don’t answer mails for days. I have now waited 3 weeks for my iteams, and they don’t even bother to answer my mails. The Items has not arrived.
They lie about the increased liability cover on the carriage
Avoid at all costs.
They used Fedex, Fedex expressly state in their terms and conditions that most of the items this auction house sells is not covered on their standard liability cover never mind their increased liability cover.
East Bristol charge Increased liability cover on the items they dispatch and maintain that they add this on when they dispatch goods.
I have had a lost item and have found out from Fedex themselves that Increased Liability Cover wasn't added when the item was dispatched. Even if it was added the item I had purchased still wouldn't have been covered under the conditions of carriage.
Excellent service
I received excellent advice both pre-sale and post-sale. Very happy with the amount of money raised.
Knowledgeable staff and good auctioneers
Staff are knowledgeable and always willing to do any research needed to put a realistic estimate on items. Auctioneers have a good style and always try to achieve the best price from the bidders.
Sold a dud with incorrect description
Bought a DVD player in the auction and when received it the plug had been cut off which raised suspicion. Plug put on and unit connected to monitor but on power up there was no display, inserted DVD but there was no response from the player and display still blank.
Asked for refund but the response was electrical items are decorative items !
There was no mention of item for scrap, repair or parts so item not as advertised. Have bought many items at auctions but this is the first time I have been scammed.
Also standard charge for P&P is ludicrous.
First time selling at auction
First time selling at auction, so pleased to have chosen East Bristol. Special thanks to Lucy who was very patient and helpful. She gave advice without any hard sell, her valuations were spot on and communication was excellent. Everything was so well organised, already planning our next one.
Best auction house …
They were really friendly I've never sold or been to an auction at all I had stuff my late husband collected that will never be displayed or neices and nephews wouldn't want so best was to auction and gad my money for lots sold when they said I would get it I couldn't fault them and would recommend and use them again for sure x
Great service
Great service, honest appraisal, timely and appropriate communication.
AUCTION OF HOUSE CLEARANCE ITEMS
Really pleased with the sale of the items, everything we place in the auction sold and we are happy with the prices sold.
