For me this is the best meditation app

For me this is the best meditation app. Not to be mistaken with a software program called Aura. But I’ve read some negative opinions here that are not about them, that’s just not correct. The attention that is obviously spend on this meditation app deserves a lot better.

And believe me, I have tried various wellknown meditation apps (without calling them out), you can think of the best wellknown and I’ve tried them. Not actually what I was looking for, focussing on streaks and complimenting teachers again and again, warning I’d loose my streak, or a theme in my face like politics, no.. I just want to meditate! So I looked further. I don’t leave reviews normally.

The Aura health (meditation) app, offers a beautiful ambiance inside the app. It feels tranquil, cosy. It’s not so much about streaks. Because I believe meditation is not about that. You are automatically drawn back to it several moments a day because it’s so nice. You can choose what kind of categories you would like to listen to when you start up the app. I accidently made a mistake and customer services helped me out in a very personal reply and effort.
I love it because I could choose a 3 minute default setting although longer is possible too, there is a filter in the app aswell. But honestly I don’t use it that often because I get great meditations suggestions for ‘today’, so there is no decision fatique. Every meditation is really nice, sometimes in other apps I’d get annoyed when it’s suddenly to loud, or the voice is too soft, e.g. This is always good. As soon as it starts I get calm. A few seconds of silence and a river sound (by choice) and then a voice is heard. Perfect.
And finally I can fall asleep with just 3 minutes instead of most apps offering only longer guided sleep meditations. It’s amazing how much difference a few minutes can make. For me, it’s worth the price.

Highly recommended for peace and calm

I have fibromyalgia. After years of trying different rheumatologists with little help or support, I took it upon myself to research ways to help myself. I eat an anti-inflammatory diet and exercise every morning - either doing yoga or strength training. This has definitely made my life easier but there's one thing I've not been able to help myself with and that's almost constant chronic itch. It is absolute hell at times. I feel like I'm losing my mind. Give me pain anyday! A team of dermatologists have tried so many different drugs and absolutely nothing has helped. So, at the end of my tether I decided to try meditation and mindfulness.

I can't pretend that it has cured me. The itch is no better. But somehow, most days, I am more able to live through it. So for that I am very grateful.

P.S. I have also been trying abundance affirmations to see if I can boost my little jewellery business 💜

I experienced a technical issue that…

I experienced a technical issue that temporarily prevented me from accessing my coaching sessions. Rose and the support team stayed engaged, kept me updated, and worked directly with their engineering team until the issue was fully resolved. I truly appreciated Rose’s patience, communication, and follow-through. I’m now reconnected with my coach and back on schedule. Thank you for the excellent customer care.

I have been very impressed with the Aura app and support personnel

I have been very impressed by the Aura app which I purchased a membership for after a one week free trial. I have used the sleep soundscapes almost nightly and have found it very helpful in improving my ability to relax and fall asleep. I have also done several meditations. There is so much more to explore and try in the app. I am really looking forward to utilizing all it has to offer. In addition, I reached out to customer support because I had been charged a higher amount for the subscription than I thought I had signed up for. I received almost an immediate response to my email and in looking at their records they discovered I had accidentally changed my subscription to a family plan. The support person corrected my plan choice mistake and processed a refund for the difference between the two plans. It was impressive how quickly the solved my query to my satisfaction and with great kindness.

Aura is one of the best wellness apps I have used. It’s easy to use and offers so many options that can easily be done during the day. It’s made a real difference in my stress levels, overall mindset, and mental health. Highly recommend!

Do NOT Recommend Aura Meditation APP!!!

I have been a customer for a few years and have to say my MAIN issue is with their Customer Service. Several times I've tried to get answers to my questions and instead get evasive responses. If I stated how I didn't feel valued as a customer, a lengthy prepared response would be sent with how Aura Meditation app truly values me. I just wanted an honest answer to my simple question. Not certain if they generate AI responses because they don't read English? Ellora was the CSR name given and this agent sent the strangest replies, never answering my original query. In fact, over 10 emails of communication back and forth only to get no resolution.
On a side note, I found they consistently wanted monetary donations for their LIVE meditation sessions which is very sad since you pay an upfront hefty annual subscription fee. Don't they pay their meditation teachers/instructors????!!!
They also give you a hassle when you request a refund for the automatic renewal annual fee at full price!!
Beware! There are so many better meditation apps out there. This is truly a money grab and unethical company with shady business practices. Needless to say, I cancelled my subscription and will NOT be renewing it. Would have given 0 stars if it was possible. Signed by Ellora's Disappointed Customer

Update: Aura's Customer Success Team reached out and has taken my feedback seriously. They have reviewed my concerns and provided needed staff coaching to ensure this doesn't happen again. I appreciate their kind offer and will see how the new subscription will work out and intend to update my review accordingly to help other users based on my personal experience.

Beware taking out a trial.

You sign up for a trial and then there is no way of cancelling. No membership section anywhere on the app. I emailed them and no reply. Eventually I have managed to cancel for next year through Apple but they wouldn’t refund me for this year despite the fact that you are tricked into subscribing.

I am now out of pocket by £61. It has just created stress at what is already a difficult time. I have tried to use the app but I found the voices all wrong for me and nothing that really helped me develop my meditation skills.

And now I am on their email list and they ignore the unsubscribe.

I signed up for a single membership, unable to cancel trial.

I signed up for a single membership trial. I tried to contact the very illusive company to cancel my trial within the deadline, which they never notified me of as they said they would) without success after trying to call and text. They charged me $130 for a family membership. This is clearly a fraudulent company, not to be trusted. And now they’re showing the wrong name as poster of review.

Charged for an account I could not access…

Aura created a subscription under a misspelled version of my email, which meant I never received receipts, renewal notices, or any way to access the account. I had no idea the subscription existed until they told me in a separate conversation a year later.
Even after acknowledging the typo, Aura refused to refund the charge—claiming it was "outside their refund window" despite the fact that the account was never accessible or used.
Extremely disappointing and not a trustworthy billing practice.

Love the app!

I love the app, I have found many good options for sleep hypnosis and meditation. I like that you can choose your own background noises and adjust their volume, as well. I recently reached out to customer service, they were prompt in their reply, very helpful, and gave me all necessary information.

Got charged for a full-year subscription even though I cancelled within 7 day free trial period

I tried their 7 day trial and cancelled on the 7th day before midnight. They still charged me $107.34 for a full-year subscription, despite my account no longer existing!
