Debited further funds on return of car
When I returned the car to Hertz, I returned it it in impeccable condition, having had it professionally cleaned and vacuumed. They were happy with it. I should have had my bond returned to my bank account. Instead , I was further debited a sum of $290.38 from my Mastercard! I’m not at all happy with this and will be following this up with the commonwealth bank.
I did everything expected and the hertz professional seemed happy with the condition of the car.
It should have been a refund of the bond I initially paid , not a further debit!

Great product, too bad about the deception
This review is directed at Europe Car rather than Auto Europe.
Pick up, car performance, general information and drop off information at a different destination all excellent. However, I believe I was deceived at Glasgow airport pick up. I believed I was paying a fee for a drop off at another location and a deposit, whereas I have been stitched up up with a whole set of unexpected charges to which I gave no conscious consent. Sure, amongst the (it seemed like) a dozen or so signatures I gave was one for optional products. After an international flight I was tired and not sufficiently distrustful of your airport sales person who I imagine gets a big commission for bundling unordered services. I have an excellent travel insurance product which makes the $1600 additional fees ( and doubling the rental car cost) superfluous.
I feel embarresed at how easily tricked I was, however this will act as an enduring motivation to ensure I tell this story over and over on all of my social media platforms. In addition, I will file complaints with UK and international consumer protection and fair trading authorities.
Of course, I would appreciate your response first, but in keeping with the maxim once bitten twice shy, I have kept a copy of this review in case this version is accidentally deleted.

Fantastic company to deal with
Fantastic company to deal with. I had an issue in Miami with a flat tyre within the first hour of the rental and autoeurope and Hertz sorted me out and gave me an upgrade. Very happy.

We waited for over an hour to get to…
We waited for over an hour to get to the counter and then another 30 minutes to pick up the car. It was very stressful. I would never book with Thrifty again!

Amazing service when help needed After I made a mistake with my booking…
After I made a mistake with my booking collection and need to reschedule the staff at autoeurope Australia where amazing . A lot more helpful than dealing direct with rental companies. The only challenge is the time difference so I had to sit up late to talk to them. But the services was fantastic and I cannot thank them enough.
