First and last time with autoeurope
We had a very bad experience with this company. We booked thorugh autoeurope a station wagon with Europecar in Barcelona for 6 days, paid for the rental in advance and expected everything to work smoothly. Upon arrival, Europcar didn't accept our Danish credit card for paying the deposit, and thus we could not get the car. With two small kids at 9 pm we were in a very unfortunate situation, and we had no chance of sortening this out with autoeurope at this time of day. Luckily we were able to find another rental-company (Firefly) who had no reservations with using our credit card as valid payment. Apart from that, they were a lot more helpful than Europar.. When contacting autoeurope during our stay and after having returned to DK, they both denied responsibility and refused to reimburse our payment - due to late cancellation as they called it. Apparently, there is a sequence in the online booking system, where they warn against DK visa-cards as valid payment. However, this is easily overseen from a costumer perspective, and since I can see here at trustpilot that other DK costumers have had the same experience I find it highly critical that autoeurope does not implement more adequate measures in order to limit these credit card issues, that clients are experiencing across Europe. when they as middle man ought to take care of the costumers and be responsbile service providers. If you without problems can pay for the car rental online but not use the same credit card for deposit, you are frustrated as a costumer. This was a first and last timer for us with autoeurope.

Vi gør flere gange opmærksom på, at debetkort såsom Visa/Dankort ikke accepteres lokalt til depositummet. Både inden betalingen finder sted, i betingelserne (som man skal læse og bekræfte for at gennemføre købet), i bekræftelsesmailen og på den tilsendte voucher.
Når man ikke kan efterlade depositummet, er man nødsaget til at købe en ekstra lokal forsikring, som eliminere depositummet. Her har I så oplevet, at et udlejningsfirma formentligt har tilbudt jer en ekstra forsikring mod benyttelsen af det danske Visa/Dankort.
Vi beklager, at I har oplevet dette ved afhentning, men de lokale betingelser er gældende når man booker gennem en formidler.
