My experience was great because of 1 employee-Kim Crocker in the Kentville office. The communication from Avenir prior to being lucky enough that Kim answered the phone, was as close to non existent as you could be. I had filled out a form and digitally signed the agreement for a 3rd propane tank back in the fall of 2025. I called numerous times on this issue as again communication after I was told by the salesman that it was received, fell away to crickets. I completely understand why no tank installed in the winter however an answer to my question as to when went unanswered. Finally Kim Crocker answered and the fixed my issues. The digital signature did not show through on the printed agreement. So why after months and months and many calls did no one check this until Kim? So I now have my tank and again had to call Kim to get it filled. I was told by installers they ordered it, called after many days and the lady confirmed ordered. Days later called Kim (she was away the week it finally got installed again after she set it up to be)and she got in touch with delivery and had it filled the very next day. Kim Crocker is an asset to Avenir. She is professional, polite, kind and extremely helpful. She should be training many at Avenir as to customer service and the need for proper and honest customer communication.
We only asked for $500 worth of propane…
We only asked for $500 worth of propane and the driver came and filled it. Got a massive bill and told them to come get the tank - we were done with terrible service. They came and unloaded the propane shortly after and now are still asking us for $1500 worth of propane that they pulled and out likely resold!! Sounds illegal to me. Now they're threatening collections. I told them I will pay for the $500 we asked for but no more. It was the drivers' error not ours. I'm beyond frustrated with this company - have spoken to SO many diff people there. Calls are recorded - told them to listen to us asking for $500 worth. One person agreed with me and said yes I see that message....Ugh. Still being harassed by them.
Bad communication and cancelled a contract
They cancelled my contract and never gave me a notice, what they said and did was totally different and as i dis what was asked i was still turned off. So hard to trust and the communication was horrible. I had to keep ask. Not really nice.
Worst company to deal with.
Sadly there no way to give less than 1 star, but this company deserves none, or negative stars. We are a greenhouse operation that used to be a client of Ultramar which was bought out by Avenir so we automatically switched to give them the benefit of the doubt. Our own experiences included difficulty getting in touch with them for fills, taking up to 2 weeks to get a truck to us, high prices for poor service, almost running out of fuel (which is death to a greenhouse business), days of worrying if they going to show up, having to rely on the goodwill of our regular delivery guy to get service, etc. Although the knew in advance that there would be lots of headaches to switch companies such as dismantling structures to get new tanks in, having gardens run over to get old tanks out, new inspections to bring everything back up to code, it was worth it just for the piece of mind. So Avenir, just don’t. Save yourself the aggravation.

Even when they promise a delivery, they fail to follow through -“our truck broke”. Sparling was good. These guys are awful. I will be looking for a more reliable propane partner!
The worst company I’ve ever had to deal…
The worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. The office staff are so nice but that’s where the good ends. Short summary; very close to running out 3 times, all in winter. Once they let my tanks go down to 14% before they showed up. I do have a monitor on my tanks so there’s no excuse. Continued phone conversations about delivery that go no where. Double billing. Don’t give them your Credit Card. We (and all my neighbours) switched to Chalmers and so far so good. The Chalmers rep to me they had gotten 31 new customers all from Avenir ( as of January 2026). Then just to add to more bad service, they charged my $215 plus tax to pick up their own equipment after it had sat on my property for over 5 weeks after the switch. Spalding was great, never an issue. Not so much with Avenir
Over changed then lied

Called again, manager emailed me and told me this was untrue. Still waiting for resolution.
Very Poor Experience
I've been a loyal customer with this company for over 6 years. Only once in that time frame have I been approached to sign a contract to lower my price per liter. Recently while a neighbor was getting there tank filled I asked the price per liter and found out that they were paying 26 cents less a liter without a contract from another supplier. I then called avinar and was first told that 95.? Cents a liter was the best price they offer. I asked being a loyal customer if anything could be done. The lady said she would talk to her manager and get back to me. A few days later I was contacted to be advised that if I sign a contract in April ( my first call was in Jan.) that they could lower my price per liter by only 10 cents . Obviously I started calling other suppliers and everyone I contacted was at least 20 cents cheaper. In fact one supplier told me that I was the 39th caller since the previous month regarding the same scenario. I then started the process of switching suppliers. When the day came and the tanks were switched I called Avinar and told them to come and pickup there tank. Oh by the way after the second call from Avinar I told them I could get a better price somewhere else as I was switching suppliers and not to fill the tank anymore she expressed her regret . At no time was I advised that because I released them as my supplier and even though I was a loyal customer for 6 years there would be a $400 pickup fee . On top of that I had some service done on one of my propane appliances and he asked me who my supplier was . When I told him he told me about his poor experience working for them and that's why he quit and went to another company. So not only is Avinar a poor company to deal with apparently it's a poor company to work for. Avinar in my experience is a poor communicator , but also sleazy in the way that treat there loyal customers . I will legally do everything in my power to stop people from using Avinar as a propane supplier. After telling them we were going to send a negative review they've responded by cancelling the fee to pickup there tank. It still should've taken this much complaining effort to come to come to this resolve.
Impressed with service and timeline
Again I’m impressed with service and delivery timeline. I called Renee (local here in Brechin) who was super nice and took the time with me. Thanks Renee. Propane was delivered, as discussed, in a very timely fashion. As always. Thank you Avenir.

I am in Ontario and spoke with a representative at their office in Flesherton. She was very pleasant, helpful and informative. Although there were some problems last winter with their delivery, customer service and website portal, they have greatly improved and are working at getting all aspects of their website portal up and running.
