They have took a deposit of over £1000.00 for the car rental at the airport and this hasn't been refunded yet, I have written to them few times and I had no response from them. So please think twice before you make any deposit to them. They are proper cons and scammers.

As an Avis President's Club member, I must express my disappointment with the service at the Abu Dhabi branch. I was charged a deposit of 3000 AED on my card, and I was informed that it would be released after 15 days. However, more than 30 days have passed, and the deposit has yet to be refunded. This delay is not in line with Abu Dhabi's consumer rights regulations.

I raised this issue via email with Kelly Hanies and Mohammed Alfatih Arbab, and although I received an apology from Zakaria Hamil, the deposit is still being withheld. Even escalating the matter to Mr. Smith, the General Manager, has not resolved the issue.

I have now escalated the case to Consumer Rights Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Avis UAE, not even as a President's Club member.

Wish I google about this company before renting them in May. Was told that they accepted only credit card and I had only debit..they went ahead with my debit card and took 3000aed which till now I have yet to get it back. I was also told to take their insurance eventhough I alr opted for insurance in booking.com . The number they gave use to have ppl replying back to messages but now it’s auto reply. I have already lodged a report to booking.com. They also charged my card the toll amount even though they previously said will be deducted from the deposit amount.

We rented a car from Dubai 3rd Terminal branch on June 16. They took a deposit of 3000 dirhams (26850 TL) from us. They said it would be paid within 15 business days. 45 business days have passed and they have not paid. Turns out they were taking 3000 dirhams from everyone and not paying. These are scammers. I wish I had looked at the comments here and rented it that way. Don't waste your money on these.

avoid this company. very bad service. I rented a car from the airport and after driving the car it turns out that there is a problem with the engine. Reported via Whtsap and was supposed to arrive within 2 hours, but that did not happen. They are very difficult to reach by telephone. now a day has passed without being walked and I can't use the car. It's a waste of money to stress renting a car from this company. find another company that offers good service

They took money from my unauthorized credit card without my approval. I think they cloned my credit card. I canceled immediately. Let's see when they will refund the 3000 AED deposit!

DON't RENT A CAR FORM THEM IF YOU WANT TO HAVE HAPPY HOLIDAYS, THEY ARE THIEVES, AND THEY TAKE YOUR DEPOSIT AND WILL NEVER RETURN TO YOU.

Absolutely terrible experience, basically scamming you thinking everyone is an idiot. I booked a 7 passenger Toyota SUV prior to my arrival. The confirmation was successful and the email stated the car is ready. After a 14 hour flight I arrived to pick up the SUV. Turns out, they didn't have any SUV'S ready and no options for SUV's. Instead they provided me a Dodge Charger..... when I told them that I needed a SUV they were trying to convicne me that the Dodge Charger is a similar vehicle and I should be happy... I have been working in the Automotive field (Sales Manager at a Car Dealership) for over 10 years insulting for them to try to manipulate me saying its the same status of car. What a joke of a company. In addition. When I returned the car, they began the B.S of saying there's scratches and dents on a POS charger that was damaged to begin with, car had 15,000KM. Luckily I took pictures of when I picked it up proving that the damage was already there. (I Had to fight with the guy when I returned it in Abu Dhabi Airport nearly missing my flight) What a joke and headache. You will literally get 100x better service from a smaller company like Abu Dhabi Rent a car and also pay 1/4 of the price. They also wanted $2000 CAD Deposit ! LOOL STAY FAR AWAY... its almost as if they think everyone is clueless and just plain stupid.

I paid 3000Derhams from my debit card as deposit, and i when i gived back the car it was i very good case, and the mentioned in contract that they will refund me after one month after the contract finish.
When I contact them, they say that refund it’s under process, and i am jus waiting my money

I have been charged for a full tank of gas even though I returned the car with a full tank. Despite my email of dissatisfaction and the check out report, I received no response or any modification to my invoice.
I do not recommend Avis to anyone.

Rented a car from them, paid the cost of child seat upon picking the car.
After returning the car my credit card was charged with no explanation what so ever. Sent several emails to get a replay that the amount is for child seat and a road toll. 5 days later again my card was charged the same amount as the road toll. So basically they let me pay twice, at least till today, still waiting for an adequate reply from their side.

YOUR CARD IS UNDERDANGER!

FRAUD Company.

They took 3000 AED from my car as deposit. They said for fines.

+ They took my credit card information without my knowledge.

When i returned the car, they charged me besides this deposit 1211 Aed. Which suppose to taken from the deposit. I didnt even know they took my card information for new transaction.

Dont ruin your holiday with AVIS!!

I already informed dubai police regarding money fraud.

Terrible experience renting a car in Avis Dubai, on several occasions. Was denied a car yesterday, told at the counter that I cannot use a valid driving license if my current residency is in a different country. On a previous occasion, had to wait hours for them to bring my car although it was pre-booked well in advance. I think its a UAE-Avis thing, better avoid them there. The service is great in many other locations. Istanbul airport branch is really good, for example.

I rented a car from Dubai airport and had to use a debit card for the security deposit due to an issue with my credit cards. According to the contract, funds were to be refunded in 45 days; it has now been 70 days! No one answers the phone, 1 of 6 e-mails is responded to with 'we will send this to finance for review'.
Customer service is non-existent, plenty of better options to choose from.
And, when the initial inspection takes place and the guy says don't worry about that little scratch we don't count that, worry about it. Luckily I took pictures when I received the car as they tried to charge me for it when I returned the car.
Scammers from all perspectives.

Worst place to rent car. I had to pay 2000AED in deposit, no problems there, but when it came to the refund the told me i had to waite 45 days, also no problem. It took me almost 95 days to get the refund after talking to them multiple times. I did in the end receive back the refund but it was missing almost 300AED no explanation why just a cash register recipe that have been scanned and send as a picture.

Dont rent from this place.

dishonest and crafty never use this company, all want money from you and than the cancel your booking

Never ever use this company they hold your money for a month using and 3 days before the send you email and cancel it , I cannot believed, please never use this company

The practice to charge a deposit of
AED 5000 and a return policy of about 60 days makes this a no go company. Needless to say that I won't come back.
