I am very disappointed with B&Q i purchased 5 tins of decking stain at £172 for delivary and i have not received any of it no apology no refund ! i have informed my bank to deal with this matter substandard customer service i will never shop with B&Q again.
Not the B&Q you think they are
I had always thought B&Q were a trustworthy company, but online they are very different. It appears that they front a number of other companies. When I bought floor mats that were not delivered B&Q fobbed me off to another company. That was on 14.6.26 and there has been no reply from anyone.
Incomplete order still waiting delivery two days later
Ordered two 25lb parasol base tiles on 12 June. Only one was delivered on 17 June.
I’ve called customer service twice since and was promised delivery today (Thurs 18 June), but nothing has arrived by 8pm.
When I explained to the delivery driver on Wednesday that there should have been two tiles, he was dismissive and offered no help.
I understand split deliveries, but not broken promises. I paid in good faith and feel completely let down by the lack of communication and follow‑through.
First time and last ordering online with B&Q
First time ordering online with B&Q. Took advantage of their 3 for 2 paints. Delivery was fine, arrived with DPD on the expected day of delivery. I ordered a white satinwood and two x Dulux Teal Voyage. I received a white satinwood, one Dulux, and one random off white paint that I never ordered!
One hour drive later to a B&Q store I now have the paint I ordered.
First and last time ordering from B&Q online! YOU OWE ME DIESEL FOR THAT TRIP!

Had to wait three weeks for a simple delivery of 9 concrete bags. Let down twice with booked delivery dates that were then not made. Eventually got a delivery of 8 and one broken bag. Two weeks later still not heard a peep from B&Q about replacing the broken sack or a refund for it.

Overall a good service
Order process was fine, other than not having everything I wanted. Got phoned numerous times, re the delivery, along with texts and emails. I found it a bit OTT. If I’ve paid for something, I’m sure as hell, gonna be in to receive it. But the slot times, were good and appreciated. The actual flat pack wardrobes, look nice, but instructions are a bit vague. I’d brought separate feet, but turns out the wardrobes come with feet. No mention of that. Would be good if pre-drilled door hinge holes, were highlighted, as we’d put in drawers, then realised we had to move them, for the hinges. But overall, decent furniture.
Sorry state of the plants
We went to B&Q this afternoon to buy some plants. There was a large number of plants on show and many more stocked on trolleys filling the aisles. I could not believe how many of the plants were dead or dying. The sun isn't shining today, in fact it's quite misty and muggy here, with a damp atmosphere, yet very few of the plants had been watered recently. Where is the garden centre manager? perhaps they don't have one. I wanted to buy quite a few plants to start a fresh part of the garden and struggled to buy three!!! that weren't half-dead. Honestly, this business deserves to go bust, judging by what they do to the plants.

Quick and efficient service with a good quality products sent. Extra credit goes to B&Q for our lovely delivery driver, Stephen. What a polite and helpful driver, part of the deaf community Stephen contacted me prior to delivery to explain he was deaf, absolutely no issue at all with the communication on delivery and made himself very clear with simple signs and was lovely to see diversity in action. As for Stephen, he was overjoyed to learn that I sign BSL and was extremely happy as a result, next delivery he gets with me he has promised a BSL conversation

Not for adult sizes
Ordered 2 x shoe racks/cabinets. Reasonably well made but they do not fit my shoes. My wife is size 8 and they are fine but my size 10 do not fit. Also some important screws not missing but not screws. Tried to put a review on but their robot kept sending me round in circles. In case B&Q read these the order number is 1065481619.

Mira Decor Black 9.5kw
Read the reviews elsewhere and gave the benefit of the doubt. Last Mira packed up only 4 years old i wanted an easy replacement after the previous Mira that lasted 19 years. This is brand new, installed the day after buying to find out it would not shut off via push button switch or main 45a feed pull cord, seemingly a very common problem. Phoned Mira on the Friday about 4pm to be told no engineer can come out to repair until mid next week, i had to be out shower and all within 40 mins, thanks a lot. Its apparent no testing was done, just assembled and boxed up to be sold. Quality showers will have water in after testing like Triton much better quality we are fitting now. In all fairness credit to B&Q we got the refund on the Saturday that showed up on the Monday and will continue to shop.
Now tell me what is wrong with letting people know of defective products and they are only allowing good reviews.
Same again with another order last week, this time a delivery of floor boards was told was to be delivered 2 days ago. Enquire where or whats happening and the non English speaking person cancels the order confirmed by two emails. 1 day later delivery tomorrow, we will see.

Some ambiguous instructions not helpful,if you are DIY able, should not be a problem.
Some parts numbered incorrectly, instructions need a revision. No knobs for opening, shame.

Geraniums
I went to B&Q specifically to buy Geraniums for my planters. I bought them last year and they were brilliant and good value for money. I'm hoping for the same this year.
I've been waiting over 2 months for a refund
Bought four doors online in March. It said they came with all fixtures and fittings on the website. They were due to be delivered 17/3 – did not arrive in spite of waiting in for them. When the arrived the following day they were of poor quality and didn't have fixtures and fittings, so I arranged to return. B&Q arranged DX 2-man to pick up the doors 24/3. They didn't turn up to collect. This was then rescheduled for 26/3, they didn't turn up again. It was then put in for the 30/3, and then moved on the 26/3 to 31/3. They didn't turn up. By this point I had wasted four days of my time in the house waiting for deliveries/pick ups. Every time I spoke to B&Q they said they could not change the delivery provider. B&Q then rang later in that week and said they COULD send an alternative pick up as they were in the area on Friday 3/4 (a bank holiday). They picked up the doors.
In B&Qs own correspondence it states that a refund will be received within 14 days of items being returned. It is now 18/6 and I am still waiting for the refund to arrive. I have been on the phone on seven separate occasions, upwards of 20 minutes each time, where they tell me that 'the file is not closed' because the return isn't showing as having being made. They say they will contact IT to close it, and the refund will then be processed, and to wait 48 hours. On seven occasions I have been told the same thing.
I then sent a formal email asking for appropriate compensation on top of the refund. I was given a case number almost a week ago, and, in spite of asking for an update, I have heard nothing since. I will not be using B&Q again.
