Wrong Condition
Wrong Condition
I had ordered a iPhone 16 Pro in excellent condition yet the one I had received was in the "good" condition. Luckily it was only on the screen and I have received some money back.

All positives, 10/10 with my experience
All positives, great communication from the seller throughout the process. Really happy with the quality of the watch I received for the price! Saved money and received an excellent product, working fantastically so far!
excellent service and product
Avoid
I purchased a second-hand iPhone 14 Pro in March 2025 and paid over $1,000 for the 'Excellent' quality option which ensured the best possible, like-new standard of product. The first handset I got died on the day I set it up, which should have been my first warning sign. However, as I was keen to give the benefit of the doubt due to wanting to support more sustainable avenues of purchasing technology, I returned the faulty device and very quickly a replacement was sent. I couldn't fault the company service here. The phone worked perfectly for a few months, however around July time the charging port stopped working completely even with multiple charging wires and attempts to clean it. I therefore had to buy a wireless charger and a portable wireless charger as the device was losing charge very quickly however financially I wasn't in a position to send my phone back or get it fixed (either with Backmarket or elsewhere). Since then, despite no change to usage (and working hospitality full-time meaning the majority of the day I am not even using my phone) the battery health has been showing as significantly deteriorated (less than 60%), I frequently get messages advising a non-standard part has been used, and the device is frequently becoming hot, shutting down, and refusing to charge or not holding charge. This is unacceptable considering I paid extra for the device to be in 'excellent' condition and it has obviously been repaired badly using substandard parts (the camera has clearly also been replaced as it is off-centre and I have to use the spirit level feature on the camera to ensure pictures are centered properly). When contacted in January 2026 as the device is now becoming near-unusable Backmarket advised that my only option was to send the device to them to repair or replace. I understand they need to investigate the complaint made and appreciate the offer, however it isn't feasible and is extremely inconvenient for me to have to source another phone replacement in the meantime, transfer all my data including re-setting up eSims and other fiddly settings, to that handset, then wait to see whether the device has been repaired with equally substandard parts or replaced by an equally or more inferior device. I have no confidence in the quality or longevity of the parts or labour used, and I cannot attempt to trade in, repair, or sell the device due to the evident issues with the parts and functionality. I am actually concerned that the degraded battery is a fire hazard due to how hot it gets. I am absolutely beyond unimpressed with this product which has not even lasted a year (really, I should have complained when the first issues became evident but I wanted to give benefit of the doubt as I knew second hand devices would not be perfect). I don't normally like leaving reviews and I had genuinely high hopes for this product however I am feeling so disappointed and frustrated after spending so much money for so little pay-off, when I now feel I should have just bought a brand new device from a reputable company.

great quality and pricing
Battery life making the refurb product less attractive?
I bought this mobile to replace my wife’s mobile which we bought as a refurb two years plus ago. It has been great. As was the refurb 6 we bought 2-3 years before that. The iPhone 8 we received had 88% max battery capacity. We are changing because the old one is at 82%. So, should we have just bought a battery and saved $100+ as we’re charging the ‘nw’ one twice a day like the old one. My own refurb SE2020 ( Ireally liked it) lasted 17 months before the battery died and looks like I would have to buy a new battery (it came with a non branded battery and the +/- volume buttons didn’t work) just to return it to factory settings or transfer to another mobile.I don’t even make calls on mine. Makes you question buying refurb iPhone over a cheap-ish Android.
