One of the best customer service I've encountered recently. I appreciated the friendly tone and patience from their end, with no hint of any AI/generic template response from them.
DPD lost my package, and while they couldn't help the situation, they processed my refund quickly when asked. However they offered a highly inferior replacement of a 32GB kit for the 64GB I ordered, hence my 4 stars. While it's understandable due to the market conditions, it's also an unreasonable offer and should not be done in my opinion.
They seem to be a relatively small company, and that can be felt. But that's a good thing! Despite not getting my order in the end unfortunately, I would still recommend them.

To summarise:
+ Ordered 64gb of DDR5 at £315.99
+ It took them 9 days to cancel, and only did so after I proactively requested an update twice; they said they were too busy with orders to communicate...
+ Their excuse for cancelling: an oversell due to a sync error caused by an order surge. However, I watched the stock decrement over 5 hours, and it remained in stock for at least 30 minutes after I purchased. It seems, for some reason, Shopify (the Taylor Swift merch platform) couldn't correctly track stock of 6 same-item sales over 5 hours.
+ Their delay/sync issue has directly resulted in a financial loss of £250+. Due to the 9-day wait, I can no longer source the item for under £599.99. I passed on faster memory £320-£400 multiple times while I waited on dispatch and comms.
+ In my opinion, their subsequent repricing of existing DDR5 stock doesn't reflect fair pricing when compared with competitors, and even when considering the raised landing cost due to recent manufacturer and distributor increases:
* The item I ordered rose from £315.99 to £924.99 on their site, while currently £599.99 elsewhere.
* Their 32gb equivalent kit rose from £259.99 to £706.99, while available elsewhere for £299.99.
* It seems that prices at BTTO are over double estimated raised landed costs.
I'm an experienced developer and their explanation for the oversell... raises questions. I saw no evidence of race conditions, sudden surges, or any other oversell scenario in this case. My item was there for 30 minutes before I purchased it. There was still stock 30 minutes after. I witnessed stable stock counts tracked for at least 30 minutes.
Frustratingly, this situation could have been easily avoided in so many ways...
+ Identifying and communicating stock errors on the 1st Jan - especially after seeing a surge in orders.
+ Responding to my initial email in a timely manner.
+ Listing stock in manageable amounts to allow time for customer communication - which should be a priority regardless imho.
+ Keeping spare stock in reserve for RMAs or potential oversells.
+ Offering same spec'd kits that are in stock for a similar price.
"As a small business... a technical hiccup like this can slip through"
My knowledge of Shopify causes me to question this being a technical hiccup. Responses to problems seem to place blame on some vague system flaw. In my opinion, this makes them seem unreliable. As a micro-business/start-up ourselves, we now have increased costs due to this company's questionable decisions and the way this situation was handled.

The response from Back to the Office below has absolutely cemented my feelings about this company and not addressed my concerns. To clarify for those reading both:
1) The Surge: Only 6 of these products were ordered over a 5 hour window. There was maybe a 'surge' of at most 150 orders across two different items listed on HotUKDeals, which lasted from 3am until some time after 11am when I stopped watching. This would not at all impact database sync for my separate product.
2) Channel Sync: I cannot find any other channel where Back To The Office was selling my specific product and I ordered before general business hours. Regardless, the item and the remaining stock were available for at least an hour in total. I question why their system cannot seem to sync stock across channels in under 30-60 minutes; I would consider that fundamentally unviable rather than a "technical hiccup". If this is true, sync problems are inevitable and will be constant (it's also amiss there seems to be no other feedback of overselling other items). I'd question their decision to sell on multiple channels with that system - especially without backup stock.
3) Surged items: I question why the actual "surged" items (priced just under market value) did not seem to result in similar reports of being oversold; conversely, successful deliveries of those items were actively mentioned on HotUKDeals.
4) Pricing: I still question why BTTO now seem to have some of the highest UK prices. While accounting for current market conditions, I still find it difficult to understand why they're unique in having prices so significantly detached from raised landed costs and other sellers.
Instead of addressing these specific concerns in a substantive manner, the company seems to be challenging the visibility of my review. In my view, this approach provides a clear indication of the company’s operational standards and overall ethos.

Was looking for the Bequite Light Base 600 DX pc case but was sold out everywhere most places had the LX version (came with four fans) but I couldn’t justify the +£40 price for fans I didn’t want or need, but I also didn’t want to have to wait a minimum of another month for the DX version to comeback back in stock in the UK so I googled and found Back To The Office and they had the LX for only an extra £20 half that of every where else so I did a quick review check because I had never heard of them and when it came back with all positive reviews and that they had won some awards I was sold I went with the free delivery option 3-5 days I forget how much the next day delivery was but despite not taking the next day option for an extra amount I was pleasantly impressed when it actually came within 36 hours from purchase

I was actually dubious to purchase from this company, as I hadn't personally heard of them before. They appeared when using PriceRunner whilst I was looking for a new motherboard for my PC.
There weren't many companies that had the motherboard in stock, without having to get it imported and they were by far the cheapest.
We have all been there where you are concerned about committing to a big purchase from a company you haven't heard of before. I needn't have been worried, the product arrived within the timeframe specified (especially over New Year) and the Comms from the support team when I had a few questions were extremely fast.
I'll certainly be using this company again. So, if you find yourself in the same situation as me, where you are unsure whether to use them or not, you don't need to be concerned. Extremely reliable and great prices.
Thank you for a 10/10 experience.

Can't grumble. Order the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Black headset late 22/12/25. Delivery note said it would take 5-7 days, the headset arrived 24/12/25. The courier was royal mail.
I bought the headset as a gift and I've been told it's brilliant.

I ordered a premium quality mobile phone case which was cheaper than anywhere else I could find online. Often websites offering low prices also deliver low service or worse still, nothing at all - I've been bitten before. But not Back to the Office. The (standard) shipping said 3-5 days which was acceptable, but the product arrived promptly next day! Absolutely brilliant service and I can highly recommend this company.

I came a cross "Back to the Office" by mistake, and saw that they had the Pc monitor i was after for the last few weeks available.
After a few questions with Jamie regarding warranty , i went ahead and order the monitor.
It was delivered next day. Haven't had time yet to use it, waiting for the weekend.
So glad i came across this company by mistake, as their service is brilliant, customer service is amazing too.
Many thanks
