Such a lovely dentist, on arrival the receptionist Naf was very welcoming and warming at Lewisham Banning Dental. Dr Shailesh made my experience of going to the dentist brilliant, would recommend!

Reception are superb at Leighton Buzzard, my dentist Dr Naser had been considerate through my treatment and I am very lucky to have him treat me. My implant journey was at first tense and scary, but a few appointments in and the clinic has changed my feeling towards dentists, and my implant crown looks so natural, their internal lab are very talented. I would thoroughly recommend this branch of Banning Dental!

NHS service at private prices.

Had a few appointments for teeth whitening, not once was I seen anything like on time. When the whitening kit arrived there was a very brief ‘this is what you do’ discussion before; ‘now off you go’. No come back to make sure you got the level of whitening that you want or, to make sure everything is okay. I left thinking, wow that all seemed like a bit too much trouble for them!

After a few days of using the whitening the sensitivity was overwhelming so I contacted the manufacturer to see if that was normal. They told me I should have been given their sensitive tooth paste to use two weeks prior starting the whitening treatment. The manufacturer contacted the surgery and was told that they would get back to me later that morning after they had checked to see if they had any of the toothpaste. Needless to say, they didn’t get back to me. I called them just before they closed for the day and they still hadn’t checked! She went to look while I waited on the phone, they did have some. I then had to make a 35 mile round trip to get the toothpaste and not even the slightest hint of an apology for getting it wrong or the trouble I had to go to to get it, certainly no sympathy for the unnecessary pain and sensitivity I was suffering! All she could say on that was “well you should have been given it”. Yes, but I wasn’t!

No way would I EVER go back there and no way would I dream of recommending it to anyone!

Update 24/11/25
I had a call from the practice manager the very next working day after I left my review. She was very apologetic and sorry to hear of my experience. She explained how it had happened, but acknowledged it still should not have happened in the first place. She assured me they had taken my complaint seriously and would update their training to make sure it didn’t happen again to somebody else. She also took the time to call at my house a couple of days later to apologise again in person. She said they had now completed an updated training with branch staff and gave me a lovely bunch of flowers 💐 It is nice that they listened and did something about it rather than just ignoring my complaint.

FINAL REVIEW – PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS CLINIC**

I have been receiving treatment for composite bonding at this dental clinic, and what should have been an exciting experience has instead turned into 18 months of stress, frustration, and disappointment.

While the dental doctors themselves are skilled, the administrative staff, receptionists, and management are shockingly unprofessional. Their communication is consistently poor, their handling of complaints is dreadful, and their overall customer care is unacceptable. You’re often left waiting well past your appointment times, and for anyone with a busy schedule, this becomes incredibly frustrating.

After weeks of delays, miscommunication, and constant back-and-forths, I eventually cancelled my final treatment — I simply couldn’t tolerate their subpar service any longer. I also began to worry that, should any issues arise with the bonding, getting them resolved would be an uphill battle.

Things then got even worse. When I tried to cancel my loan agreement, the clinic refused to process it. The complaints officer (who later claimed to be the operations director) was completely unhelpful — hours spent on the phone repeating the same details, with absolutely no progress. Despite multiple chases from myself and the finance provider, the clinic still wouldn’t authorise the cancellation, leaving me liable for payments. I had no choice but to escalate the matter to the relevant financial authorities and the Dental Ombudsman for malpractice.

**UPDATE – MARCH 6**
Due to their ongoing refusal to act fairly, I took this clinic to small claims court. As the case was pending, I couldn’t share many details at the time. However, it’s worth noting that after the court date was set, the clinic made repeated attempts to have my Trustpilot review removed — four separate times — claiming it wasn’t about them or violated site rules. These reviews had been up for 10 months with no issue, which makes the timing highly suspicious. Please, read other customers’ reviews online — you’ll see a clear pattern.

**UPDATE – MAY 13**
The case has now concluded. The clinic failed to attend the small claims hearing. The judge reviewed all the evidence and ruled in my favour. The court found that the clinic was wrong to charge for their so-called “smile trial,” which isn’t even listed in their costs, and that their cancellation fees were neither fair nor clearly disclosed. I was awarded the full amount of those costs back.

**IMPORTANT NOTE**
I have had to update and repost this review several times because the clinic has also managed to get it removed from Google. This alone says a lot about how they handle criticism and complaints.

Be aware: this dentist is not ethical in their practices. Their head office staff are inexperienced and manage complaints terribly. It’s been an exhausting 18 months, but I’m relieved that justice was served.

If you value transparency, professionalism, and fair treatment avoid this clinic at all costs

I have been going to Banning Dental in London Blackfriars for a while now, and I always see hygienist Laura, who is absolutely amazing. She is gentle, thorough, and my cleanings never hurt. Which is a big deal for me because I have always been very sensitive and usually needed pain relief at other places. I am so glad I found Laura, she is honestly the best. During my last visit, Sristri assisted her, and they both made me feel completely comfortable. I highly recommend them.

They booked me in the next day, they made a plan to fix all the issues I have with my teeth and the doctors are kind and professional.

Great welcome, speedy and thorough process through my appointment. Answered all my questions on Invisalign and they were informative. The reception is very big and welcoming.

The clinic is extremely modern and well presented with calm, kind and polite staff. The orthodontist my daughter has been seeing is also very kind and warm toward my shy 13 year old. What is also great is the option for Saturday appointments, as I would struggle to be present for weekday ones (and this way she does not have to miss school).

She has not started care yet but I have every confidence given the experiences we have had so far.
