I'm not happy with the computer I bought. It had problems from the start. I spent a lot on repairs. After a year, it stopped working. A very bad experience and a lot of stress.

Bargain hardware is a good company
I bought a HP 800 SFF G5 (which came with 8GB of RAM) as well as 2 replacement sticks of 8GB RAM from Bargain Hardware. The HP machine worked, but the replacement RAM didn't work. I told them about this and they said I can return the RAM, so I sent the RAM back to them and I received my refund in a timely manner. Bargain hardware is a good company.

Excellent customer service
I made a mistake adding two low-profile NICs to an order when I wanted one low-profile and one full height. Bargain Hardware made sure that this was corrected - someone went and found the package ready for dispatch and made the change. It did not delay shipping. This is first class customer service, and it is greatly appreciated.
Very reactive
The help provided during my shopping has been really fast and helpful.
Refurbished graphics card AMD Radeon R7 430
Ordered a refurbished graphics card for £15 via their website, arrived well packaged and in a timely manner. Fitted the unit into an HP 290 G2 Micro tower running Windows 11Pro. Installed fine and is working fine with a bit of noise from the the fan which BH have contacted me about. All positive and the staff are very helpful. Will certainly be using them again!
Well done BH.
A little advice from someone who did not know!!
If you order a GPU and have no experience with one a little tip is check the output - the display port on this card caught me out. I assumed it was HDMI but it was Display Port. I did not have any DP cables to check the unit fully at first with my PC monitors.
I have also learned that the DP output may require an active DP to HDMI adapter if you are using the output to work on a TV. (resolution, refresh rates etc etc) It all worked fine with my desktop PC monitors but the none active cables I got means it still does not work with a DP to HDMI standard cable to feed to the HDMI input on my TV's.
Just ordered an active DP to HDMI cable
Hopefully that sorts the issue.
Oh for standardisation .... although I believe ... it's all in the name of progress!!
Great attention to ALL details
Remember windows 10? Well about a week before it's end of life support I'd decided I was going to subscribe to an extra year of the operating system because I had a really smooth running computer - purchased from Bargain Hardware, that had worked seamlessly for me throughout most days and evenings for the past four years.
To seal my commitment to the machine I undertook the task of removing dust from the chassis. But I didn't go about it properly, and managed to blow dust into the connectors on a hard drive or the wire connecting to that hard drive. The result was I shorted the hard drive. The smell was awful. That and the noise it made when it went gave me quite a scare. I took the dead hard drive out - luckily it wasn't the os drive - but found the computer wouldn't power up. I assumed it must be the power supply.
Having had such a robust machine from them before I was in no doubt that I would be buying my replacement computer from Bargain Hardware. What I wasn't prepared for was the lengths of the care they took to make sure I was happy with my new purchase.
It began where most purchases probably do from this site - with me finding a PC I fancied, configuring the build and saving that configuration via the very handy "Share This Build" button. I stored the link generated in a txt file so any time I needed to check on my choices or speak to sales or support about them, all I had to do was paste the link generated by the "Share This Build" button in the address bar or in my emails.
The most helpful and informative conversations I had about my build, and more, were with Ben Smith from the support department. The following proved to be no problem for him:
1..Phoning me to discuss the build.
2..Spending time during that conversation to help diagnose that my old computer wasn't suffering from power supply issues but something more complicated. That saved me some money because I was going to try to resurrect it due to not really liking having only one machine.
3..Assuring me that, even though I couldn't opt for this in the configuration, I would get the DVDRW drive I wanted fitted - and at no extra cost.
4..Reassuring me that seeing as the end date for Windows 10 support was now imminent they would perform a clean install of Windows 11 which would enable them to test the operating system with the build in question.
5..Keeping me informed about the progress of the build up to the point of dispatch.
The level of care and attention I had received didn't stop there. Once I had installed all my programs and got my computer set up the way I wanted I made an image of the drive containing the operating system and all my programs. I also made a bootable usb drive in case I ever need to restore that image. My final hurdle was to go into the bios and set a usb drive as the first booting option - or so I thought.
I've been in a UEFI bios before to change the boot order but I found nothing about this new bios intuitive with regards to this procedure. I watched a couple of YouTube videos about how to do it in bios' that were identical to mine but they stated different things and left me feeling none the wiser. So I emailed Ben about my predicament. He soon set me on the right track which didn't involve having to change anything permanently - which I was really pleased about.
Needless to say, I'm a very happy customer and won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to invest in a new computer.
great value and super fast build
great value and super fast build and delivery, also friendly customer service (ordered a dell powerEdge r640)
A good bunch
Buying refurbished is always a pain, however BH have really made it easy. We originally bought a workstation to see what the company delivered.
I have had the unit sent to me apart and it is well put together. All the components inside where clean every test I have done shows the workstation is in amazing order considering I bought a b grade unit I'm shocked at how good it is.
We have put an order in 6 more units from BH they where great. Chris was particularly helpull

They completed the contract in the face of adversity.
The first item received was damaged in transit, sent to Ireland. They replaced the item, and arranged for UPS to collect the damaged item from my address. Customs were complicated to deal with the 2nd delivery, but the vendors handled it well, and the 2nd delivery happened in quick time. I'm thankful for their attention to detail and perseverance.
