Based just outside of Barnstaple, we offer both an in store shopping experience and ecommerce service to our 30,000 plus customers. From our North Devon Tack Shop we supply animal feed and bedding to equestrians, small pet owners and small holders across North Devon. We also offer ALL you need for you and your horse. Our experienced fitters ensure the very best of fittings for your safety equipment, including riding hats, boots and body protectors. We have all the top brands for horse owners, with horse rugs, tack, rider clothing for all ages and gender. Our dedicated online team despatch over 20,000 parcels a year across our wide range of equestrian products to horse lovers across the UK. Good deal, with great customer service
We were delighted with the product, but when I ordered I didn't check the delivery address and it was a few days later that it was discovered to be an old address of ours. It was very easy to deal with Barnstaple Equestrian Supplies, even though it was over a weekend, and the error was corrected without any fuss.

Absolutely terrible customer service I…
Absolutely terrible customer service I have had a member of staff who was rude. I have been lied to by two members of staff. I have done everything I have been asked to with regard to a faulty product and every time I email or call you just get fobbed off. This is probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If there was a reward for untenable customer service I would have no doubt that Barnstaple equestrian would come out on top. I wouldn’t spend another penny with such a disappointing company.

For clarity, your Gallop Trojan Xtra rug was purchased on 9 November 2025, dispatched on 10 November and delivered on 11 November 2025. A fault was reported on Friday 9 January 2026, almost two months after delivery, relating to stitching on the Velcro straps of the neck cover.
In line with our faults policy, we requested photographs, which were provided. When you contacted us by phone on Monday 12 January for an update, we confirmed that the matter was being handled in accordance with our policy and advised that we were happy to cover the cost of a repair. This was confirmed within one working day of receiving your email and in line with our statutory obligations.
On 15 January, a PayPal claim was raised stating that the order had not been received and that additional items were missing.
As the issue had been escalated via PayPal, we responded through their resolution centre. We are sorry that this situation has been frustrating.
At no point did we refuse assistance, and we were more than happy to work towards a resolution, particularly as you had previously told us how much you liked the rug.
Once the PayPal process has been concluded, we remain happy to offer either a refund or £20 store credit towards the cost of re-stitching the neck cover.
To anyone reading this, please be assured that we always strive to offer friendly, fair and efficient customer service and will continue to work hard to resolve any issues as promptly and reasonably as possible.
PS their dispute against us on Paypal was denied as Paypal sided with us.
