I regret using Bathroom Centre Fife
Bathroom Centre Fife.
Upgraded my 1970s fully functioning bathroom that had exposed pipework.
Prior to fitting I had a no show by a fitter who was supposed to check my cable size for new shower.
Fitting was to be Monday to Friday and I arranged everything round this with alternative accommodation, booked and paid, for the duration which they were aware of.
4pm on Sunday prior to start, Spacey phoned to say job would not begin the next day. I was unable to obtain a refund for my alternative accommodation.
Another fitting date was 2 weeks later by fitters Sean and Liam who I trusted with a keysafe key. Again I found alternative accommodation.
I visited my house midweek evening seeing most of the tiling and electrics appeared to have been done and that tools and my fittings were generously scattered about my home with items leaning against my walls and furniture. The bathroom door had obviously been removed to enable access. This door was perfect prior to these works.
There was no communication with me during that week apart from them misplacing the keysafe code.
On the Friday, when completion was expected, I was not contacted. At 5pm I enquired with Spacey as to my fitting and was informed that it had finished at lunchtime. It was too late for me to return home that day. Sean phoned later that night with cleaning advice.
On my return, my livingroom lights had been left on since the fitters departure and a mark was on my painted landing wall.
My garden had been used as a urinal during my absence.
During the ten month period from fitting, these incidents have occurred.
The bottom of the bathroom door was severed at the bottom at an angle, leaving a slant of 30mm, exposing the interior structure. Cut to accommodate the new fitted tiled floor, now sloping. Sean blames structure, floor, door was off before he started, and that the door now has to be that way. Spacey parrots that although stated a new door was the answer asking me regarding type of door I had, not listening to me, instead telling me to be quiet and speak after he had spoken. Director Alan Jeffrey viewed, rolled marbles over the floor to check camber and then was to allegedly speak with others regarding solution. Nearly 2 months from fitting, a Bathroom Centre fitter, who identifies as a joiner, heightened the door threshold with an odd piece of wood and spacers, screwed brush strips to both sides of the door and loosened the door top hinge to allow it to drop slightly. I was told that was all that could be done and that a new door would have the same problem. Age Concern viewed the works, deemed it unsafe trip hazard, removed, and the door hinge retightened.
Water leak from sink pipes and misaligned to drawer unit.
Little or no water flow from tap and trickle from kitchen. Later bettered with 2 months to replace with low flow tap which made no difference.
Towel rail no heat. Later bled, however little or no heat and none from centre part. 15 weeks to replace.
After 6 months my new bathroom mirror showed oxidisation / desilvering to 2 alternate corners and integrated clock malfunction.
Sink chrome pop up drain hole cracked. 1 month to replace.
Silicone parted from floor tile and shower tray.
Bathroom Centre advertises a guarantee of fitting would be sent to me soon after completion. Months later I received it by request.
The door situation can only rectified by installing a new bathroom with a new door.
