Check tax/import duties if buying from UK - shockingly high!
Just purchased a dress and some shorts plus shipping charges from Beginning Boutique (order total $103). I cannot comment on the products yet as they are currently in transit. However, although the website does state that anyone buying from the UK is responsible for tax/import duties, I had no idea this would amount to nearly 40% of the total cost of my order. This additional charge is calculated and sent separately by email from DHL. I know I should have investigated this prior to ordering so not BB’s fault, but I imagine returning items (hopefully won’t need to) will not really be an option due to charges. Perhaps BB could make these high charges clearer on their website rather than stating check with local customs office or hiding it in free shipping for $50 part of their website.
