On 06/09/2025 at 11pm, I tried to use scooter However, the scooter did not respond when accelerating, so I left it in the same place, and the app kept showing errors when trying to end the ride. The scooter remained in its initial location without being used.

After returning a few minutes later I received a message from the app stating that my balance had been depleted.

To my surprise, I was charged €170 on my card for a ride with scooter, despite not having used it.

This raises the question of how it is possible that such a charge was made to my card if my balance was at zero, with no automatic top-ups, and moreover, the app itself confirmed that the ride had already ended.
When I tried to reach out with answers as to why such a large amount of money was taken from my account with no valid reasons I was unable to reach anyone
€170 plus the €13 I had topped up the account by and further €5 payments had come out of my account too without any authorisation from myself??
Answers to why a bike costing €170 would be great 👍

First and foremost, we’re sorry for the inconvenience and confusion caused. We can confirm that the full amount has now been refunded to your bank, and we hope this brings some peace of mind.

As for your concern about how a €170 charge could be made despite your balance being at zero and no active auto top-up: in rare cases, if a payment method is linked, our system may attempt a fallback transaction to ensure coverage of an unresolved session. That’s why charges were placed on your card, but again, these were incorrect and have now been fully reversed.

We’ve also investigated the smaller charges (€13 and €5), and those are also being reviewed to ensure nothing improper occurred. Any remaining discrepancies will be corrected as well.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for the trouble and lack of immediate support at the time. We’re actively working to improve our systems and support channels to prevent issues like this in the future.

I used them in rhodos but i couldnt end my ride because it said my device was to far from the vehicle even though i was standing next to it (i have videos and pictures). I wasted all my balance and still couldnt finish! Tried using the helpdesk in the app but they aint open at the moment. Have to wait till tommorow (but the step is still active in the parking zone, i paused it so no one can use it) hoping to get a refund asap.

Update 1: had customerservice on the phone and they ended my ride, im in -30 balance atm and they told me she asked the administration for a refund, will update if it happens or not

Update 2: hoppy refunded everything within 12 hours and apologized, good service!

Beware! They make unauthorized charges and their support doesn’t reply

On 27/08/2025 at 15:16, I tried to use scooter 300381. However, the scooter did not respond when accelerating, so I left it in the same place, and the app kept showing errors when trying to end the ride. The scooter remained in its initial location without being used, and at 15:25 I took another scooter at the same point (302510).

After returning scooter 302510, a few minutes later I received a message from the app stating that my balance had been depleted.

To my surprise, I was charged €48.36 on my card for a ride with scooter 300381, despite not having used it.

This raises the question of how it is possible that such a charge was made to my card if my balance was at zero, with no automatic top-ups, and moreover, the app itself confirmed that the ride had already ended.

As well they charge more money if you are out of Unlock.

Very bad condition of scooter and sometimes they don't work and loose lock then to change for another one..

I hope this gets change and not taking advantage of costumer like that.

Absolutely joke of a company. Used some scooters with friends in Gibraltar, we all got day-passes which grant you 5 unlocks and 150 mins of riding. Regarding helmets and GPS: the helmets are locked for safety reasons and should release automatically at the start of each ride. If GPS interferes with ending a ride, our team can manually close it and refund the extra time.

Phone broke when it fell out of scooter holder

Got a scooter and pur my phone in the placeholder, and locked it. It was secure till i drove over a small pothole. My phone flew out of the holder and fell on the ground. The car behind me drove over my phone and my phone was completely destroyed. The car drove off and i was left with a broken phone.
Contacted the support and they couldn’t help me in any way, because it couldn’t be proved that my phone was broken that way…

The phone holder on our scooters is built into the frame and made of hard plastic, not rubber, and it’s designed to firmly hold the phone in place.
