PLEASE AVOID BEN HARAD -

Placed an order for £1700 worth of goods at this shop and was told that alterations and tailoring would be offered closer to the time of the wedding free of charge. However when arriving today Mariam had changed her tone and backtracked on what she initially told us and what tailoring she did offer was not what we agreed upon. Furthermore she spoke in a very rude and condescending manner and throughout our multiple efforts to discuss this with her, she would leave mid conversation and be gone for 20 minutes at a time. We travelled from London specifically as we believed this shop to be exceptional through reviews however this was not the case. Mariam made it very difficult and she would often raise her voice and shout which was very embarrassing as she is a grown woman who must understand this is no way to behave. She had trouble issuing a refund and reimbursing us for the wrong alterations that were made which we will now have to amend at a different shop out of our own pocket.

Please do not spend your hard earned money here as the staff and especially Mariam do not know how to interact with customers, have no humanity and have no customer service skills whatsoever.

Absolutely a night mare to work with!

Placed an order for 3 jersey hijabs, received 2 silk hijabs instead, Emailed and rang them numerous amount of times, after finally getting through, they have said I will have to pay for the returns label, and if the hijab has been opened they will not accept the refund.

EXCUSE ME, YOU HAVE SENT ME THE WRONG ITEMS, IM NOT IN FAULT AND I WILL NOT PAY TO RETURN THE INCORRECT ITEMS WHICH YOU HAVE SENT ME !

Incompetent and unprofessional service

Purchased a dress for my wife from Ben Harad's online store. The order number is 100541. We returned the item due to it taking too long to arrive the fit not being right. I have proof of delivery, showing they have accepted the returned item.

There are a number of things with their service that cause me great concern.

1) They do not respond to emails or answer phone calls. I have tried two email addresses and I've tried calling the store on three occasions. I have been met with complete silence each time I have attempted to establish a line of communication.

2) Their returns policy says that unwanted items must be returned within 7 days of receiving the item(s).
This is both unfair wrong from a legal perspective. I have been looking at the Gov website, Citizen's Advice and Which. All of those websites state that the customer is within their rights to request a cancellation/refund for any unwanted items (bought online) within 14 days of receiving their order, then another 14 to return to the item(s). This is covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations (2014).

It's clear that the service at Ben Harad leaves a lot or be desired and their communication is pretty much inexistent. It appears I will not - in all likelihood - be receiving my refund. However, what I know for certain, is Ben Harad will not be receiving our custom again. If anyone is considering buying from them online, I'd strongly advise them against it.

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING Either online or from the shop.

Ordered a dress from the shop to be delivered to my sister in another city - needed urgently for wedding.
Paid for delivery. The staff said they’ll text me the tracking number and that it will be delivered in 2 days most.
I didn't receive the order and didn't have the tracking number. I kept calling them. Either no one attends or if they do, they put the phone on side and you can hear them talking.
I had to drive myself there, picked up the dress and the posted myself for next day delivery.

We bought a dress a week ago a paid for postage to be delivered to Manchester. We were told that it will be delivered within three to four days. I have been calling since last three days. No one picked up. Today some one picked and put the phone on side without talking and made the phone line busy. I been to the shop and the dress was still there… never posted. Their behaviour was very unprofessional. I took the dress and posted myself. Don’t waste your time and money by going there.

Beautifull Posh Place for Abaya's, Maxi's, Casual Wear, Bridal Dresses etc. Also in Store, They have Alterations Service, which l found, Very Helpful. They also sell Perfumes, Sml Gifts, Bukhoor, etc. Gift Wrapping available. Men's Long Throbes, available upstairs.
A Very Big, 'Special Thank you', to Belqis (Staff), who has the most 'Amazing Personality', with a Beautiful Heart & 'Incredible Smile'. Also Thank you, to Hamad/ Muhammad, to Their Professional Tailor, Good Job for the Fitting. l think her name was Iman, nice Calm Lady. A Massive, Thank you, to all the Staff. x.

Don’t ever shop with this scam if a…

Don’t ever shop with this scam if a business online, I placed an order 11/04/21 for a dress needed for 31/05/21 4 months later they have only just sent me an email with a Royal Mail tracking number. Save your money an go somewhere else! They only sent me this because I have raised a dispute with my bank! They are an unlawful business who on their website says refunds Cary and I won’t get my delivery charge back! Don’t shop online or in store!

No order received after one month

Order placed on February 3rd (over 1 month ago) and still no sign of it despite being billed immediately. Have left multiple complaints on website , called shop repeatedly ( no reply) and emailed with no response. The most shocking customer service.

Do not recommend

Do not recommend. Paid for next day delivery, after 5 days I only received the tracking number, signed for 1st class! Called the shop several times but they did not bother to pick up. Website also useless!

The staff are extremely rude

The staff are extremely rude, and difficult to deal with. They over price their dresses, that are of the poorest quality.
I did like the hijabs here but because of the appalling customer service I shall not be spending anymore money here.

The worst company

The worst company, returned an item that was faulty for a refund a few weeks later brand new in its original condition as due to covid was difficult to go out as my mother is elderly and they refused to refund me £220 for the item as their return policy is 7 days, and they even had the audacity to say that if I wanted the item back I would need to pay for postage for them to return it to me. During this current situation all retailers are extending their returns policy, so as a goodwill gesture you could have issued the refund, because in the first place a dress at that price should be good quality, all the glitter were falling off in a puddle on the floor the minute i took it out from the box, so therefore the item is faulty and if you knew anything about customer service you would have issued the refund. Also I emailed within the 7 day period, but the email bounced back that the email does not exist. I phoned in a few days later and spoke to a male staff in store and explained the situation that the item is faulty and he advised for me to post it to the store for a refund which I did, so not only are you refusing to refund me, but you have kept the garment. The issue is not the garment as I would not want it even if it was free, its the principle, at least you could have returned the item. It is clear from other reviews as well that whoever is running the online department is incompetent and clueless about what it means to provide great customer service. Stay clear of this company, daylight robbery.

Beware

Beware, do not buy from their shop on Coventry Road Small heath B10 in Birmingham as they do not return or exchange. I bought an outer gown for £95 I put it on at home and didn't like how it looked. I went to return it with the receipt and they refused to exchange it as they dont have a refund policy. They said it smelt of the scent I had on and they can't return it. Now I'm left with a gown which I don't like. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM AS THEY ARE NOT CHEAP AND YOU CAN'T RETURN OR EXCHANGE.
