This is for the Grafton branch of Best…

This is for the Grafton branch of Best Friends. They repeatedly miss their timeframes in getting back to you. Often call and leave direct to voicemail messages shortly before closing. This affects being able to timely schedule follow ups that are desperately needed. They will remove your call times and dates from your records to fit their story. So after three missed deadlines, I called and questioned them on it. I inquired if it was needed if I seek out another vet. I was informed his scripts were being filled on that call. About 3 hours later I receive an email ending the ‘relationship’ with me. A call in made it clear these people do not like being informed they are bad at what they do. This is and was par for the course for Dr Boss’ staff when they were the Little Animal Hospital in Grafton. Now, after a week delay they caused by simply not returning calls on the schedule they set for themselves, I’m more than two weeks out from getting my cat the scripts he needs. Avoid anything associated with Dr Boss and her staff. If anyone wants the receipts, I’ll gladly demonstrate this branch’s lack of care and hostility over being called out on breaking their promises.

Avoid this vet

Avoid this vet
Worst experience we ever had, rude vet and overcharged at Christchurch branch, then cancelled our membership when we complained. Bad atmosphere and intimidating.

I cannot thank the staff of Best Friends Practice enough for their kindness, support, advice and care for my cats. They have been there for me at every stage, with every pet and have shown true rapport with my pets throughout their lives. Their staff give their all and I am so very grateful to them for their hard work and dedication.

We were extremely let down...

We were extremely let down by this practise. Our family dog had to be put to sleep just eleven days after our initial consultation due to a wound which was created from a procedure at this appointment (fine needle aspiration on a lump we were wanting removed) becoming ulcerated, infected and ultimately resulting in septic shock which ended her life. The timeframes given to us about results from this procedure and potential surgery dates were inaccurate. We were left feeling like we weren’t a priority as we constantly had to chase for information. Promises of call back times from the receptionists weren’t upheld and we were begging someone to treat our situation with some urgency, visiting a further two times with a visibly worsening wound from the site of the aspiration. We were told they were ‘too busy’ to even look at their surgery book to give us a date which made us feel like we didn’t matter. Our case wasn’t treated as a priority, resulting in it becoming an emergency because of the time we were left to wait.

We came in with our dog who was happy and full of life and could never have imagined this outcome. She had a lump, she didn’t have an open wound. She was failed by this practise who never should have allowed it to get to this stage. If we had been given the surgery date which had been mentioned at our initial appointment, we wouldn’t have had to endure the traumatic ten days which followed. We spoke to numerous emergency and out of hours lines for help and did everything we could to try to save her. With the recent closure on Sundays, we couldn’t even rely on this practise to be available and had to take her to another vet who we hoped could help her - but it was clear that there was nothing that could be done by this point. Multiple opportunities were missed by this practise to prevent this outcome. We should never have been left in the situation to allow a wound (created at the appointment!) to become necrotic and for our dog to go into septic shock because of this.

A formal complaint which we filed because of our experience ignored our concerns and resulted in a total lack of accountability and made excuses. It was biased and caused us even more upset with the lack of compassion, especially when were were labelled as ‘still upset’ which is incredibly insulting. We will always be upset at the loss of our family pet and can only hope that others don’t put their trust in this practise. The opening hours aren’t enough, this isn’t the vet for emergencies and the out of hours is too far away. One month on, we continue to struggle to come to terms with everything that occurred over this time period. We will never go back here again and have transferred over to another vet. If you have pets registered at this surgery, we would strongly urge you to reconsider your options.

I am disappointed with these vets

I am disappointed with these vets. Firstly on the afternoon of my dogs appointment I called to check for their postcode and was given the code for their closed down practice. However to be fair they didn’t charge for the short consultation but did charge for his eye gel which I later saw online pharmacies was selling over 120% less than they had charged me.
However after consideration I decided to obtain a quote to carry out the stye removal from my dogs eyelid and when this was provided I questioned it because I thought it excessive. During the conversation I sensed a tension and decided not to go ahead. I suggest you seek a second opinion if you consult with these vets, not forgetting that they are a corporate organisation and you may get better value from an independent practitioner.

Very disappointing

Really disappointed in this veterinary surgery they used to be so good and myself and my family members have been taking our animals here for years and never had any issues. Now they undercharge you at appointments and then send out rather rude letters 6 months to 1 year later blaming you for not paying enough demanding payments. We as a customer have always paid in full what we are told by the receptionist there and then at the end of a visit how this is OUR error I do not know and working with payment systems and computer systems myself I know this is due to the person using the system or a system error themselves not the customer who just enters their pin. This has now happened to us twice and to be honest I now have anxiety about using this veterinary clinic again as who knows what you may receive 6 months after I certainly would not recommend them to anyone which is a shame as the vets working there have always been really good.

The staff at this practice were wonderful, so caring to my Macey, who had become really ill over the Jubilee Bank Holiday, they were the only vetinary practice. I could find open in Peterborough. My own vets have still not returned my calls that I left at my usual vets, I was frantic to get Macey help and be seen. I have so much gratitude to the wonderful vet that saw her, it wasn’t the outcome I wanted for her, but I cant praise them enough for their care. Thank you

This was the most horrendous shocking…

This was the most horrendous shocking experience I have ever experienced at a veterinary surgery, careless, unprofessional, culminating in the death of a previously healthy 5 year old cat given strong medication without a blood test which weakened him so much he was dead in 8 days.
The whole system is based on money, the first questions they ask are about ability to pay, before anything to do with treatment. I would never advise anyone who cares about their pet to go to Best Friends Vet Northampton. It is a horrendous shocking experience.

Took my cavalier king Charles as an emergency to Wisbech vets after eating a toxic substances and the treatment was good but they overcharged 3 times the amount I used to pay for the same job I complained and they just said the bill is automatically charged whether they do something or not so I was charged 79.00 for hospitalisation when she wasn't and all they did was take that charge off so paid 159.00 just for the dog to be sick yet my old vet charged 80.00 so very very expensive and will not be going back

Honest Gazo

Wow! I've read some of the reviews here.
I can only go on my experience.
My dog Lola needed an operation and was touch and go. Myself and wife spent days with tears, we were so heartbroken.
Went best friends in Leicester (As we always do) and never let us down.
We are not insured but what this vet did was very reasonable.
The vet we always use is DANA!
Absolutely brilliant! Hope the main practice read this as she is a brilliant vet with knowledge and will not rip anyone off.
A miraculous recovery...Words can not describe

Terrible service and attention.

I want to put a complaint with this service. They were attending our pet due to urinary issues. The vet gave our pet some antibiotics that didn't work for two times in a row, and when we mentioned him that the drug he should be using was a different one, because our cat was treated previously with it 2 years ago due to a similar condition by our Vet in Argentina, he told us that we had to go through a bunch of studies, tremendously expensive and including some that are absolutely unnecesary, like scans or image diagnostics. And if we were not happy with that, we could go to the vet we had in Argentina. Rude, unacceptable and completely out of order answer.
I understsand that for bestfriends the attention of pets is just a very profitable business and pets are just a commodity for them, but with answers like the one we received, your team is way out of line.
Based on this, we decided to change to other Vet group and we hope to receive a better and mored educated attention.

BAD SERVICE

BAD SERVICE
Strongly advise to avoid these people. They used to be good but they advised a huge amount of surgery that was not needed, and they can't keep any of their staff. I've had staff members in tears over the fact they have to remove perfectly healthy teeth because they have to diagnose gingivitis as extraction instead of treating the inflammation of the gums. So brutal and my two cats have now had about 12 surgeries between them, slowly removing all of their healthy teeth before I realised the situation. I put my trust in these people and have to forgive myself for my stupidity and nievity. They clipped my females claws so short they bled and it looked like they had used scissors to cut them. They left her for three hours on the floor in reception in her carrier and when I called to collect her she was still where I had left her, petrified and they hadn't even operated.

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

My cats returned so traumatised.
