I have previously written a negative review of betconnect, which was due to frustration at my own mistakes.

I have used this site for years now and have never had any issues with payments nor support. The support team have been spot on for every query.

4 stars as there is always room for improvement.

Edit: the new feature looks promising, hopefully I’ll be accepted into the feature. 🙏🏼 Maybe 5 stars are on the cards.

Been a very on-off user for over a year now and I thoroughly enjoy using the site. I'm not looking to make a living off it, but it's an unbelievably great tool for easy match betting to catch some nice wins.

I was also around just before the disappearance of the timer and although it made matching bets super easy, I find the amount I can match without the timer is far greater. You can also scroll through the bets which is better than the one at a time previously.

My observation of using betconnect for a year since the change to the new layout.

Initially it looked “alright” as a new layout. But i think it has been a total disaster. The original concept has been totally lost without any warning. Social media of betting or follow “pro” and place your own bets etc totally vanished, it seems like there is a new owner and changed everything, almost like when Glazers took over Man Utd gone to absolute ruin.
They haven’t been able to sustain a following of backers (which used to be called “pros”). There is a huge amount 25+ layers (which used to be called “punters) hanging around like piranha waiting for a sniff of a bet to come through. The amount of layers will be a sure thing as to why they won’t implement change. People are on the cusp of desperation so will hang around like flys waiting to get a hit.

For your average punter/layer/matched bettor (which is probably the legit term) need a minute or so to decide whether or not they want to accept the bet or not. Now it seems you have reverse gamblers, people laying the bets either to hope it doesn’t win or hope the odds are higher elsewhere, either that or they have lightning fast machines which can get them to the selection they desire. Or (conspiracy hat on) there is bets being matched by the house (this is pure speculation of course they would never admit it nor do it i’m hoping).

The last thing which should be a given no matter what and is big issue is a 10 or so second gap in which layers/punters/matched bettors see the bets. I have been told its due to fortunate (for some) or unfortunate login times based on the system refreshing (absolute joke of a reason).
If you don’t understand what i am talking about, layer A could see a bet and layer B could see it 5,6,7 seconds later giving obviously layer A a better chance of matching the bet. To me this should be fixed a.s.a.p and you shouldn’t be allowed to hold a licence whilst this is happening. Its totally unfair on everybody involved.
You make the refresh every 10 seconds to ease loads on the system, how about investing in a better infrastructure so it loads every split second in the interests of fairness.
Sometimes i don’t even know bets exist due to them going so fast, how do i know this? I’ve spoken with others in real time to compare.
Imagine if betfair wouldn’t let you see certain odds because you weren’t logged in at a certain time it doesn’t make any sense nor would it happen.

Cheltenham has been the worst for win only liquidity I’ve seen since I used the site,probably due to unable to hold on the bettors due to lack or promotion or no offers like actual bookmakers. The e/w had a lot more bets and was not bad (the ones which exist for more than 2 seconds).
Where were the Cheltenham bets Thursday?

Of course none of this above is a given to me, as this isn’t my site nor my rules. My view is based on before and after the layout change which changed an original concept into a usual back and lay concept like an exchange ala betfair but with bookmaker odds. (No wonder “pros” don’t hang around once their 0% commission is done when they can get greater odds in exchanges)

I would request you don’t reply any generic reply like the ones below they are unhelpful, but do request you fix my first concern to allow it to be a fair practice.
Put some offers on for the backers! Bet £500 get £25 free bet or something anything to keep the interest. And advertise more.

I am giving Betconnect a 5 star.Betconnect promised AMERICAN HORSE racing will come this year when I last gave a 5 star review and I take them at their word.I see every month the site is improving and I expect them to be a real force in the not too distant future.Myself and many of my friends love USA horse racing and look forward to 2022 this year when it comes to the site.I am always promoting Betconnect and expect positive develpoments.

Had a few big matched bet wins here without too much effort after following their blog posts. Quick, easy and uncluttered design. Very happy to not be paying any commission when laying.

Customer service has been absolutely top notch. Very quick responses

Update on Betconnect.
After 6 months from their update there still isn't a timer.
I don't know where the recent positive reviews are coming from but if you a matched bettor it's too risky.
Laying first and hoping the odds don't change ironically is a gamble. The same with backing at bookies first then hoping that the Betconnect bet is still available when you return.

In a nutshell: BC is the best option for Matched Betting. You can lay bets at the same odds as the bookies.

Amazing customer service as well.

It’s a fairly good site with relatively quick and hassle free payouts. I feel the promotions side of things is certainly lacking with no best odds or loyalty etc.

Initially I was upset about the new format and removal of the timer. After a few weeks I have adjusted, laying more frequent bets but slightly smaller. Customer Service has been excellent.

Mostly all been said already so not much more to add oh maybe option to exclude certain sports and no1 of all bring back the timer makes it not fit for purpose any time frame on the timer to be added back even 1 min i would take never mind the 5 as you replied below are you really going to bring it back if not im out thanks for the times we shared the love we lost i think about you everyday i awake looking for the timer soon as its back plenty will return and LC seems to have gone maybe cos of the constant moaning for the timer to be returned or not i miss Charlie and the rest of the crew bring back peace to the Galaxy your the only one

The new layout is good - an improvement on previous but as others have mentioned, the loss of the timer is a real problem.

The same as what everyone else as said. Since the update and the removal of the timer as ruined this site for me. It used to be unique and on its own and completely different to what was out there , which made it a great site to lay bets. What’s more frustrating is that there is no app available anymore or it just doesn’t work. No information available if the app is going to be available at any point in the future, so you have to be stuck behind your desktop for hours on end. There is no information or date on wether the app will be available again in the future. Not very transparent as they claim to be.

Why change a great format?
I used to lay thousands each month but now it is too risky.
Why would I risk £1000's in liability by excepting the bet first?
You always lay first not the other way around.
Without the 5 minute timer it is dead for the layer.
Such a shame, as the original was such a great idea.

Echoing the recent (May 2021) reviews of others, the Customer Service is excellent, but the latest version of the website / UI has pretty much killed off Betconnect for me.

Don't get me wrong, the old site had problems and at times was very frustrating, but at least with the timer I could make informed decisions.

You need time to check that the bet is something you are interested in, check the odds are actually available and check the bet isn't an arb.

Without the chance to do this I am putting both money and bookie accounts at risk.

I really enjoyed using betconnect, generally speaking the site works well and it's good fun.

I am giving 3 stars due to fund protection - there is none.

if betconnect goes bust like so many other gambling companies have done in the past then you risk losing everything. i inquired about this 1 year ago and was told it was something they were looking into.

If they offer fund protection I will return but until then its too risky for me.

Have been using betconnect for over a year and have enjoyed every minute. Its a great concept but needs to be advertised to the betting public to attract more punters and pros. That said the withdraws are super fast and customer service 5 stars. You do need some know how of the betting world to use it but its easy to pick up . Well done betconnect and I have just 3 words for you ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE,ADVERTISE.UPDATE TO NEW VERSION
Sadly betconnect have decided that they no longer want a transparent exchange. By removing the name of the pro the layer(punter) does not know who they are following or laying. Taking away the "lock in time feature" means you get stuck with bets you don't want. Oh well nothing lasts forever .I wish you all the best in the future but I'm out.
This is my 3rd update. If you want to have a bet on the site it is good . You will get some bets matched providing its not under on the exchanges. Stand by what I said about the lay side but might get better in time .

Without a live market, it's a nightmare for a punter. The concept is acceptable if you're an errand boy. Even then there's only a handful of so called pros. It's probably been a good insightful experiment but it's a reactive game and if you have a fancy to lay, it won't materialise because of the lack of pros.
Ditch the idea and get the markets made up with live betting. Betting shouldn't be like this.
The way it is at the moment, beware because you will be TRAPPED into bets and won't be able to get out because of the drip feed. You may get one bet per hour, if you're lucky. No control whatsoever. Beware of you do join.

Slight odd at first but once you get used to it pretty decent. Sometimes they don't have the exact pointspread you want etc but usually it's ok.

The customer service agents actually listen though and attempt to do what you ask rather than just give you some canned response which is useless and frustrating, that in itself puts them ahead of many of their competitors.

Would like to see some more features going forward like live markets, more bet choices for each event (more point spreads, more proposition bets etc).

Overall can't complain though. No annoying withdrawl hassles either which instantly puts me off if it happens.
