SCAM! We hired this company to inspect three gas fireplaces in a home we just purchased. We have never had this type of "fake log" fireplace and didn't know how to light the pilot light and wanted to make sure they functioned properly. We were told this would cost $69 per fireplace. Fine. When Dolph showed up, he took off the screen and lit the pilot light and said "it works fine." I said "Can you show me how you lit the pilot light? I wasn't paying attention." He said "Sure that'll cost $299." I laughed because I thought he was joking. He wasn't. I said "Just leave it lit then." He said "No. If you're not going to pay $299, I'm turning it off." This is the WORSE company I have EVER dealt with. They are a complete SCAM and NO ONE SHOULD EVER USE THEM!

Stay away. I read the terrible reviews and should have headed the warnings. I talked to service guy Dolph beforehand. Explained it was a new house to us and needed the fireplaces inspected and show me how to light . He lit pilot and turned it off after asking to borrow a lighter. I ask for instructions and he said that would be $299 in addition to the $69 I was quoted for inspecting and lighting. Also said it would be extra to clean glass. RIP OFF. Terrible service and terrible arrogant attitude.

If I could give zero stars, I would. First off, BHO actually doesn’t exist as advertised. We scheduled an inspection with BHO but a tech from Universal Chimney Duct Cleaning showed up. Turns out,BHO uses “affiliates” (as I was told by a rep when I called BHO) to do the work. I was also told by the rep that they are in the process of sharing licenses. Very sketchy.

We hired BHO to do some chimney repairs at our house, and were very disappointed in the work quality and response to address issues. A 3rd grader without any experience could have done a better job. We have detailed photos and happy to share. BHO Chimney did a horrible job and also was not responsive/able to fix the issue. I would not recommend that you use this company for anything.

Still waiting for a response from them on installing the door in the basement for the chimney that was paid for. Numerous calls and messages after paid when this would be completed and no response.

Send 2 subcontractors. Pressured sales for $1,300 worth of work. Payed $700 for what should have $250 to $300 worth of work. BHO should be investigated for fraudulent practices. Left a text receipt with no name .

Worst experience with them. The guy who did the work broke the exhaust vent cover without asking and kept lying about it. Don’t trust them for any work.

Avoid this company! Tried to charge me $1,300 for a part I didn’t need. Another company fixed it for $250. Total scam – do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Based off the professionalism of website and price, I thought I was getting a professional company. 2 guys showed up and appeared to be handyman business and were not friendly at all. Came in and asked what we were wanting, told them what we called for and before I could find out pricing for other services we were discussing they pulled the ladder up to get on the roof and taking pictures, started entering rooms on their own taking pictures in vents and telling me I needed a deep clean which wouldn’t fall under the promotional price and then wanted to look at dryer vent, said it was broken, cleaned it from the outside and provided me a quote for Chimney cleaning, flash repair and cap $1093. Deep cleaning of air ducts bc of mold and debris (?) $893. I told them I would like to wait and talk to my husband and they said I still had to pay $149 promo price for air ducts and dryer duct cleaning (didn’t touch air ducts and used a 12in brush on electric screwdriver to clean dryer duct that is 3ft long) and $69 for chimney inspection and 7% credit card fee. Also, they only took Venmo, cashapp, Apple Cash, check or credit card with 7% fee and I felt weary about giving my bank info and don’t use the others so I had to pay 7% fee. Will never use again. Very unprofessional and unfriendly. Do not recommend. Will definitely dig deeper next time for services.

Honestly I was told I have a fireplace leak...no documentation at all. I called out a tech to fix it and they found nothing. When I asked for my report the secretary lacked all professionalism. Absolutely gross attitude and service ma'am!

I was very clear when scheduling that I needed service for my gas fireplace insert. Instead, the technician immediately insisted on inspecting my chimney (which I did not ask for) and came back with a list of “urgent” work. When he looked at the insert, it was obvious he didn’t even know how to operate it. Without any real troubleshooting, he told me the entire inside needed to be replaced and quoted me $2,500 for the insert plus chimney, or $1,800–$2,000 just for the insert. In reality, the unit only needs a basic cleaning and a $40 part.

I asked for a written estimate—he refused. After quoting me, he pressured me to make a decision immediately, saying I had 24 hours or the price would go up 30%. When I declined to commit on the spot, he became aggressive.

It got worse: he came back a few minutes later to collect the “estimate fee” and demanded cash payment. When I insisted on paying by card, he got upset and said the office would call me. Once they did, they harassed me with multiple calls within 90 minutes, pressuring me to pay while I was on a work call.

This was a classic high-pressure upsell and scare tactic experience. No written estimate, inflated prices, threats of price hikes, and pushy demands for cash. Completely unprofessional.

⚠️ Avoid this company at all costs—and be wary of subcontractors like EE Services if BHO Chimney Sweep tries to send them.

These con artists are located in Florida! They are a third party middle man that fields out calls to local businesses! Don't use them! They don't even list a physical address on their website! Fraudsters!

I got an appointment for an estimate and they were 2.5 hours late. When the tech came I explained the situation with a leak and he said it was probably the flashing seal. He checked it out and sure enough it was the flashing seal. He said he does a lot of these and it would cost 1,400 and it would take 2 hours. We tried to negotiate the price, he called his boss and came down to 1,000. He did the job in one hour, when asked he said the 2 hours includes drying time. All he did was to mask off a 4" strip where the chimney meets the roof and paint it with rubberized paint. I called BHO to complain, I was not rude or loud, they said they would look into it and call me back. They didn't call back and they've blocked my number so I can't call them from my phone. This was a blatant rip off!! Don't use them or their sub contractors.

Price on website was not close to what was quoted for the job. (About $200 difference.)
Technician asked me if I had a homeowner warranty and then showed me how he broke my dryer. When I spoke with his supervisor, the supervisor told me about some options, including that I could have them repair it for a $75 fee.
The dryer vent was cleaned but the residue from the vents were left outside.
I ended up paying less than the website quote and the supervisor was agreeable to it.
Technician was thorough and quick and polite. The supervisor was polite also.

Online price says $79 for a dryer vent cleaning. Technician came out and said it would be double the price because he needed to “clean it from both ends”. Shouldn’t that be standard? I offered him $100, he said no so I sent him on his way.

had an apt window from 12-3 then from 3-6 then he'll be here at 530... got here at 510ish. parked in our driveway in a regular car didnt look like he had any equipment to clean out the vent. he then told me they dont clean from the roof that that is a differentservice, when the lady is spoke to when I set the appointment up verified they did as I let her know we had a 2 story house and she said "yes, from the roof vent"
the tech then asked if I had a ladder (yes, but not one that tall)
the tech then was outside yelling at someone on the phone again in our driveway for about 10-15 minutes and then left without a word..when I heard it was quiet I went to tell him I'm going with someone more professional he was gone.
they are on Google saying they have 5 star yelp reviews but I can't find them on yelp....

One star is to high of a score for BHO Chimney sweep. Workers that came to our house were not licensed or trained. Had to fire them because the quality of work was so bad. The chimney chase cover they installed this May is coming off after two months due to poor workmanship and not installed properly. Wish I could post pictures of their workmanship.

I used this company for a vent cleaning. the sub contractor they sent out was not knowledgeable and instantly raised the price upon arrival. Im uncertain about their other services but do not use them for dryer vent cleaning

I am a very disappointed customer. The AC vent clean tech showed up with a minature shop vac to clean our the vents to not only request my wife to "close all vents" but also clean up the dust left behind. We've had services before by another company when we lived in another state and the service was shocking. Previous companies hooked up large shop vacs to completely clean out our vents and even took photos of the before and after. Beyond disrespectful and terrible service. I would not recommend.
