I paid Better Homes a substantial commission to rent our apartment. They did not, however, follow their own processes to introduce us to the landlord and conduct a pre-handover inspection. At the handover, none of the promised cleaning or repairs had been done, and we had to move into a filthy apartment. Their response has been to blame the landlord (also their client as they are the listing agent), point to legal disclaimers, and offer less than 10 percent of the commission as "goodwill." I am struggling to see what is "Better" about this experience.
