The guides were great, the drivers were also great. Very knowledgeable and made this tour great and well worth the money.

Firstly there is no escaping this is a very expensive way to see the city sights, but what you are paying for is convenience. Our tour started well, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and amusing, really making the tour for us. We decided to make a stop on the route and unfortunately the next bus did not have a guide. The only option then was to listen to the pre recorded information as the bus went along, which just wasn’t the same at all. Thinking it was perhaps just that bus, we made another short stop to pick up the next bus, but again that one did not have a guide. Really we could have been on any bus at that stage. For us, having the guide to make the experience come alive was very important and missing out on this for over half the route just left us feeling very disappointed.

If i could give this 10 stars, i would. we had a wonderful experience with Big Bus Blake and the Lovely Lawrence. My husband and i were in town on our 10th anniversary vacation, and chose to ride the Big Bus to see as much of the city as possible with what little time we had. Booking was simple and fast through our hotel at the holiday inn express right down by the piers, and it was an easy walk down to the first stop to hop on. we chose this company because you can get on and off at any of their stops as many times as you wish. so we got on with the expectation of getting off, but we loved the guide so much that we chose not to get off, and we weren't the only ones. there were many of us on the top deck that rode the entire tour without getting off. Blake was so entertaining and was just the right amount of sarcasm and humor that we truly appreciate. he gave some interesting facts about parts of the city, and sang songs to some passersby. he was just all around awesome. the driver was also great as he had to detour around some construction going on and was able to ensure we did not sit idle in backed up traffic. i would highly recommend taking their bus ride, and hop onto Blake's bus if you get a chance....you wont be disappointed.

A one star requirement reflects Bad, unacceptable experience, unreasonable and rude conduct. My family of 4 experienced all of this by this poorly trained and poorly run company. I highly DISCOURAGE Booking here for these reasons: they lie- we booked and reserved in advance. Reconfirmed again 3 days before. We arrived 45 mins early and Upon arrival were told our first half of the trip to Muir woods was overbooked. Only two spots remained. They asked if two people would be interested- are you kidding me? The bus left without us. As this was the first part of the full day tour- the second being Alcatraz- we were left stranded with no alternate means to see Muir Woods!! Which my whole family travelled across the country to see. We then had to WAIT 45 mins to get a refund. Wasting precious time to figure sometting else out to try to get to Muir woods. Whilst waiting, we were mad it was taking so long and expressed our desire to leave. Rude incompetent staff said we could leave anytime and quote “there was the door”. BUT really we couldnt until the MANAGER who was no where to be found gave our refund. We left angry, disappoint and any means of planning to get to Mui woods in disarray. Muir woods has no wifi so arranging on the fly return transport is a no go wih no Uber. This company thrives on overbooking and overpromising then leaving you stranded if the cancellations dont work out. Dont risk your precious family time and hard earned money on this Big Bus company for ANY tour.

We took a Big Bus tour on June 19th with Blake. It was an awesome tour and Blake did an excellent job. Will recommend it to our friends and we'll probably do another one when we're back out in San Francisco.

Absolutely unacceptable driver. Almost hit so many cars during our experience. Very rude, doesn't speak english, was yelling at other drivers when they were warning him that he was about to hit their cars. Choose another company! This driver was on bus numbers LO 108, MC723409, PSC 21880, USDOT 2069464 on July 7, 2018. We were at the Golden Gate bridge around 2pm.

We waited a long time to be able to get on the bus. At one point an empty bus came and we thought we were going to get on it, only to have the bus leave. The audio wasn’t working half the time. It seemed a bit disorganized. People cutting the line. I did a hop on hop off bus in NYC and it was a great experience. There was also no live guide on this tour.

Took 2 tours while in California. Both were great!

My experience was unacceptable. We waited for an hour and a half in Sausalito, saw many other tour buses, but no Big Bus. Finally, we took the ferry into town. Caught one Big Bus from ferry building to Chinatown. Next hop on waited over 45 minutes, then there was standing room only. All employees were nice, just not doable with current number of buses in service in this city. I went straight to the Big Bus office to request a refund. Still have no idea if I have received one.

ANTHONY and ALLIE were fantastic! Great tour, great driving through crazy streets, and they did not rush us, which was very nice :)

2nd Big Bus Tour, both were great!

Blake and lauren are the best! So funny and made the tour so much more entertaining! My family of 5 and I really enjoyed our day and night tours but night tour was better with Blake! We did no reservations and were able to plan our entire day on the tours around the city. It made it so much easier than going on our own and driving around. Although Day tour did not have a live guide. we just hopped on and off where we wanted. Night tour we went around the city with Blake our guide and he showed us everything even going across the bridge and took pictures on the other side of the city. It was very cold at night so bring a jacket!!!

I recommend to anybody do this tour bus . You can cover all the tourist spots easily, Me and my sister had great time.

Excellent! We enjoyed it.

Loved the live guides and walking tour of Chinatown. The easy of hopping on and off. We had the two day pass that included all 3 routes. The recorded music that played in an endless lope between the narration drove us crazy. Could use a different songs to help out. Will look at taking Big Bus in other cities.

The Big Bus Hop on- Hop off tour is really solid. However, one very major problem is how long it took for buses to arrive at a stop. At one point, we had to wait 40 mins for a bus. In fact, after twenty minutes, a bus came, but it was full! If you decide to go with the hop on- hop off tour, make sure you plan your day beforehand. This is mainly because once you stop, it does not go backwards (route wise), so you have to go around until you reach your desired stop. Kudos to all the representatives, tour guides, and drivers. They were all so courteous and kind. They gave us tips on local foods, places to visit, and entertainment. Furthermore, they were all very engaging and fun to be around. Overall positive experience, 4 STARS

I’m really glad I chose the Big Bus Tour as a way to see San Francisco. We only had one day to see the city and there was no way I could have seen so much without a tour. I loved the open seating, allowed me to see and take pictures freely. The tour guide was amazing, the stories behind the buildings, restaurants, murals....priceless. I liked that the buses came frequently and I was able to get off and back on easily. There seemed to be plenty of seats for everyone since people were getting off to walk around. The only thing I had trouble with was finding the first stop ! I walked around for 30 minutes trying to get on the bus since there are no labeled bus stop ( apparently due to city regulations). I recommended this tour company to my friends who also decide to see San Francisco that way and they were very happy with their tour ! I would definitely choose this tour company in the future.

Rode 3 different busses and not a single one had a live guide, as advertised. Same lame recording on all of them, very disappointing.
